Nicest/not nice celebs.

Who is the nicest celeb you've met?

On the flip side who was not nice?

I had a friend who met Girl's Aloud after she won a competition.

They waited hours to met them, waiting for them to arrive.

Apparently Nadine was lovely, chatted and genuinely seemed interested to meet them.

Sarah & Nicola not so nice, very mardy and diva-ish.

Sir Bobby Charlton, lovely lovely man.
Morrisey tried to give my son a tip for putting his food shopping in the boot of his car at collect by car at m and s. He said he was really friendly.
Craig Charles, arrogant arse, full of himself, still owes my business money (not hundreds but that’s not the point).
Sally (coronation St), got quite shirty with me, although I did nearly knock her over, reversing my car slowly out of a space!
Marcus Rashford, not a pleasant man at all, watch this space.
Mary Berry, just how you’d expect, pure loveliness.

There’s a few horror stories about Marcus Rashford being quite unpleasant! It’s a shame as what he did during the pandemic for Fairshare and the free school meals was lovely, I feel disappointed

Eastenders extras 🤣 Doesn't get much more "celebrity" than that!

Was one of them Tracey?

Calliell · 11/03/2023 00:49

Lovely: Michael Owen, Dave Gorman, Jimmy Carr, Harry Redknapp, Danny John-Jules, Christopher Biggins, John Torode, Neil Ruddock, Gary Delaney

Mardy: Chris Barrie, Mark Williams, Arthur Bostrum, Keith Allen

Horrible: Jamelia

Was one of them Tracey?

And Winston?!

Stressedafff · 11/03/2023 00:50

I used to work in Monsoon in Manchester and Sue Cleaver (Eileen on Corrie) was the most rude arrogant bitch I have ever come across in my life. Her attitude and the way she used to speak to us staff in there was disgusting, I felt like slapping her. Anna Windass off Coronation St used to click her fingers at us as well when she wanted assistance 😂

Calliell · 11/03/2023 00:49

And Winston?!

I'm going for Shrimpey Wink

TwistandSprout · 11/03/2023 01:06

Steve Pemberton is a good egg - I can happily confirm.

I very quickly read that as Steve Pemberton is a good shag-I can happily confirm and thought "Don;t tell me he's gone all Russell Brand now"

But put my specs on .....and mighty relieved . Grin

Jimmy Carr is NOT lovely. No-one who makes jokes about rape or disabled kids could possibly be lovely,

Bepis · 11/03/2023 01:33

Did anyone ever meet Michael Jackson? What was he like?

Mothership4two · 11/03/2023 01:46

Have met Ben Fogle, James Lance, Hugh Bonneville and Joe Pasquale and they were all lovely and friendly.

I was on a train with Phil Jupitus and he was non-verbally hyper broadcasting "don't approach me!". Nobody was.

Met Dick Emery as a child - exceptionally rude and up himself

Hippobot · 11/03/2023 01:51

Dara O'Briain - arrogant, rude, fairly unpleasant.
Eddie Izzard - smiley and pleasant enough, pretty quiet.
Matt Willis - very friendly and polite.
Harry Judd - an absolute gentleman and really chatty.
Izzy Judd - lovely, quite quiet.
Danny Jones - friendly and polite.
Georgia Jones (Horsley) - fake and unpleasant
Dougie Poynter - quite shy but smiley.
Tom Fletcher - was pleasant to me but my partner found him to be rude.
Giovanna Fletcher - absolutely horrible. Not at all like the bubbly, smiley mum that she likes to pretend she is.
James Bourne - friendly in an energetic way but my partner thought he was rude
Jim Murphy - horrible
Alex Salmond - very warm and friendly although I asked if I could place my hand on his shoulder for a photo (he was sitting and I was standing behind him) and he said "absolutely, you can put both hands on if you like" which at the time seemed quite a jovial remark but I wonder (after the court case stuff came to light) whether this was a little bit sleazy.
Nicola Sturgeon - met her walking in the street without any staff/security and she was happy to stand and chat for ages. Was really impressed with her warmth, friendliness and openness.
Jedward - couldn't meet nicer guys. So kind and friendly. Not at all like the media portrays them to be. Spent a long time with them waiting in an airport. John is the more outgoing which probably is partly what causes some of the bad image for them being daft as he is definitely the less intellectual of the 2 and the more bashful. Edward is really surprising. He seems to just go along with what John wants to keep him happy but definitely has a very different personality from the "Jedward" persona. I found Edward to be incredibly intelligent and educated on all kinds of current affairs. Talked in depth about politics and human rights issues etc. He is also deeply witty with a very dry and quite risque sense of humour. I was surprised at how tall and manly they were in person and very, very good looking up close.

Does anyone have any Beatles stories?

Many, many years ago, before I met him, my ex boyfriend came home from school feeling like shit and went straight to bed, on the top floor of a three-storey house. He realised he was actually even more unwell than he thought and got out of bed to get help and promptly passed out on the floor. Fortunately, his stepdad had just nipped upstairs to get something and heard the thud, and rang 999.

It was meningitis, ex nearly died, was in a coma for about a week.

He was a massive Beatles fan and some friends of his mum and stepdad knew someone who knew someone who knew Ringo Starr.

Ringo recorded a tape for his parents to play to him in the hope of bringing him out of the coma. I got to listen to it once, it starts with him playing a drum solo, then his unmistakable voice, "Now then X, I hear you're in a bad way..." He then went on to give his best wishes for his prompt recovery, then gave his personal telephone number with instructions to "ring me when you're better and I'll take you out for lunch".

He bloody did too - ex and his mum had a lovely lunch with Ringo and Barbara Bach, who really couldn't have been nicer.

Della1 · 11/03/2023 03:13

Tom Ellis (Miranda) chatted to me on the tube and he was lovely.

Della1 · 11/03/2023 03:14

A friend of mine had a lovely chat with Kate Winslet in a cafe recently.

Have you not heard of never speaking ill of the dead?

Yes. It's a saying not a decree!

JMSA · 11/03/2023 03:30

And somebody has to say it, but it ain't like they're gonna hear Grin

Barnowl25 · 11/03/2023 04:49

Stood behind Bill Oddie at a Pret a Manger once. Rude.

Another person who has talked about struggles with his mental health I think.

HorribleHisTories15 · 11/03/2023 05:45

Linford Christie is really humble and a bit of an introvert. So handsome

Did anyone ever meet Michael Jackson? What was he like?

Friend of mine waitressed at an event he attended. She reported he was quiet and very polite.

iloveeverykindofcat · 11/03/2023 05:57

My friend and I saw James Dean Bradfield in a posh shop in Cardiff. After we'd debated for a few minutes over whether it was him or not, she went up said,
"Excuse me, are you James Dean Bradfield?"
And he said, "Yeah," in a tone that heavily implied, 'You idiots'.
I was gutted. 😂

iloveeverykindofcat · 11/03/2023 05:59

Oh I've got some more.
The members of Fall Out Boy: lovely. Also short, all of them.
Salman Rushdie: bit of a creep to be honest.
Phillip Pullman: very polite but a bit patronising.

FrenchFancie · 11/03/2023 06:36

I’ve met David Jason (del boy) a few times and he is simply thé loveliest person, so jolly and fun and prepared to give his time - also much shorter than I thought he was!

Princess Anne once nearly ran me over with her Land Rover when I was a child (she was driving herself) so she falls into the ‘arse’ category for me (I was on a zebra crossing at the time and maybe 10 or 11 years old).

FrenchFancie · 11/03/2023 06:43

Oh yes, Piers Morgan - we vaguely knew a relative of his and met him a couple of times socially at their house. Total dick, loud, arrogant and keen for every person in the (not very big) room to be aware of who he was.

on the second occasion I faked a migraine and went home as I was about to be very very rude to him and thought better of it.
