Nicest/not nice celebs.

bazzabas · 10/03/2023 11:58

Who is the nicest celeb you've met?

On the flip side who was not nice?

I had a friend who met Girl's Aloud after she won a competition.

They waited hours to met them, waiting for them to arrive.

Apparently Nadine was lovely, chatted and genuinely seemed interested to meet them.

Sarah & Nicola not so nice, very mardy and diva-ish.

Phil Spencer is a big game hunter.

A big game hunter ☹️ is he? Seriously??? Jesus that’s awful!

I've met Gabby Logan and Tim Minchin and they were both really nice down-to-earth people

Tim Minchin is my ultimate crush, I am so jealous! Have seen him live many times and always bottle out of trying to meet him afterwards as I would make an utter tit of myself

MouseKeys · 10/03/2023 21:33

I've met quite a few well-known people over the years from film stars to Royalty thanks to my job and where I live, here's a few memorable ones

I've met Eva Longoria twice now and both times she failed to impress, very rude to both her staff and to people waiting to see her. (Her ex husband Tony Parker was lovely tho)

I sold Sarah Lancashire a swimming costume years and years ago at my first Saturday job and she was absolutely lovely, so kind

Mayiam Bialik from Blossom and BBT was also lovely and very apologetic when her publicist wouldn't let her stop for photos with fans

Judith Dench and Maggie Smith were incredibly kind and gracious backstage after they appeared in a play together, they both signed autographs and posed for a photo despite having dinner plans

Prince Albert of Monaco was very kind to my kid, high fiving and posing for a photo together recently

Nick Nolte spent a few weeks filming a movie in my town and spent a LOT of time in my local. He was high as a kite and stumbled round leaning on his very patient personal assistant most evenings

Jason Statham was very cool, despite my husband geeking out when we saw him, seemed like a genuinely nice guy

For any West Wing fans- Allison Janney is amazing, so funny and down to earth, she loves all dogs and a good cocktail!

Richard Schiff is also awesome, we had drinks with him in a tiny theatre bar after a play he was in in London and he very patiently put up with my WW fangirling

My late Mum used to go on about how lovely Charlie Dimmock was to her and how she carried a heavy life-sized fox statue to the car for her at the garden centre.

HaveTheDayOff · 10/03/2023 21:41

Micky Mouse was lovely and spent time saying hi to everyone but Donald Duck was a total diva.

Queenof1964 · 10/03/2023 21:44

Lady Tannii Grey-Thompson… absolute sweetheart, stayed in a hotel where I work, was chatty and funny and just lovely. Came over to say thank you to us when she left.
Kris Akabusi, another lovely one, noisy and great fun, chatted to everyone and was exactly how he appears on tv.
Lord Peter Haines, repulsive, wandering hands, oily MP, as fake as a £9 note. Felt like I needed a good wash after he left.

But if you choose a career that will put you in the public eye and your fans pay your wages ?? Maybe not the best idea if you're shy ?

Well you might have a point for a lot of them, but in this case they are mainly famous for being the child of their famous parent - they didn’t choose to be born into the limelight.

LincolnshireYellowBelly · 10/03/2023 21:45

It’s been about three years now but still raging over how Judi Dench was a bitch to me in my dream

WinterDeWinter · 10/03/2023 21:47

I was a production assistant in the early 90s and was taking notes during an jnterview with Keanu Reeves at the Cannes film fest. It was incredibly hot and I had been drinking till the early hours and was so hungover I thought I was going to faint. I was directly in his eyeliner and must have looked terrible because kept looking at me and eventually interrupted the interview to say ‘is she ok?’ I’ve only just remembered that, and will treasure it henceforth. Grin

Russell Brand was genuinely disturbing.

David Walliams is very unpleasant unless you are famous.

I have met him and agree! Couldn’t even act friendly at a charity event he was a patron for.

tothelefttotheleft · 10/03/2023 21:59

@ArseMenagerie

An animal Trophy hunter not big game hunter. Made an error in my previous post.

tothelefttotheleft · 10/03/2023 22:03

Why's it ok to talk negatively about some dead celebrities like Cilla Black but not others?

Endofmytether1 · 10/03/2023 22:08

My brother's work brings him into regular contact with celebrities.
Thumbs up to:
John Travolta
Stephen Spielberg
Demi Moore
Johnny Depp

Thumbs down to:
Paul McCartney/Elon Musk - these 2 are the absolute worst apparently.
Ashton Kutcher

Busbygirl · 10/03/2023 22:08

Sir Bobby Charlton, lovely lovely man.
Morrisey tried to give my son a tip for putting his food shopping in the boot of his car at collect by car at m and s. He said he was really friendly.
Craig Charles, arrogant arse, full of himself, still owes my business money (not hundreds but that’s not the point).
Sally (coronation St), got quite shirty with me, although I did nearly knock her over, reversing my car slowly out of a space!
Marcus Rashford, not a pleasant man at all, watch this space.
Mary Berry, just how you’d expect, pure loveliness.

Superunknown1 · 10/03/2023 22:09

I’ve met a couple of members of My Chemical Romance and they were friendly but shy. Frank Iero made a lot of effort with everyone and it was ace.
Other half has met more famous people than I through his work, most recently Ian McKellen and John Bishop. Ian McKellen the class act you’d expect, John Bishop self-entitled and a grouch.

putchyrsg · 10/03/2023 15:25

I always think Stacey Solomon seems lovely - never met her but she seems like a good'un

I met her years ago on a night out in Essex and she posed for a photo with me any my sister, we were v drunk and prob v annoying but she put up with us! She’s a good’un I’d say

JK Rowling a wee sweetheart.
Various footballers all as you'd expect.
Petula clark lovely, but manky fingernails ... it was 86, I was 11 and very judgy.
Bez Happy Mondays ... all round decent human being.
dougray scott is meant to be lovely too.

theres more but I cant remember.

herdingcatss · 10/03/2023 22:12

I met Joe Perry once briefly at a record signing years ago - so good looking and kind - and v. sexy!

Runningonempty01 · 10/03/2023 22:13

Nice : My dh worked in a cafebar in Manchester in the late 90s lots of corrie stars etc , but best celeb Robbie Coltrane. He and a friend had a very long boozy lunch ( he drank guineas and champagne) was very pleasant when DH gushed about Cracker being his favourite show and gave a very generous tip.

Nasty :Mick Hucknall was a complete arse

Crushed to hear that Sandi Toksvig fell into the "not nice" category from a PP.

What?!!! Not our Sandi!!!

Michael Ball is lovely

Oh I’m so glad to hear this. I adore him.

12FreeRangeEggs · 10/03/2023 22:22

SnowdayYay · 10/03/2023 21:08

@12FreeRangeEggs that's so so lovely.

Did you ever let him know since?

I did go and see him in theatre on Broadway after our run it. I had excellent seats, right at the front but it was just too close for comfort. I was convinced he could see me (I’m sure with stage lighting he couldn’t). He was wearing a fat suit for the role, and the man is quite a bit older than me, but
i just found him overwhelmingly attractive. The evening was all too much for me, I was breaking out in mini panic attacks. I don’t think I could cope with any more real life encounters. 😂
