Nicest/not nice celebs.

1000 replies

bazzabas · 10/03/2023 11:58

Who is the nicest celeb you've met?

On the flip side who was not nice?

I had a friend who met Girl's Aloud after she won a competition.

They waited hours to met them, waiting for them to arrive.

Apparently Nadine was lovely, chatted and genuinely seemed interested to meet them.

Sarah & Nicola not so nice, very mardy and diva-ish.

Nigel Havers was having lunch with his wife at the same time a group of us from work were having lunch before the Buckingham Palace garden party we had been invited to. One brave colleague went up and asked him to autograph her invitation and he was really lovely, chatted to her and smiled at us all. A charmer in real life too.

Not if you're his stepsons (Daily Mail link)

@imaginationhasfailedme·

Your Mum shouted at SirDr Brian May , brain the size as a planet , the best guitarist in the world and he has a hedgehog rescue in his garden.

That would be akin to kicking a bagful of kittens Shock

What did he do BTW ,
I was smiled at by Brian May in London and my life ever sinc has been enhamced

A forum I used to frequent years ago had a thread on lookalikes. Someone compared Rochelle Humes to Donkey from Shrek and I can't unsee it.

I'd be intrigued to hear more about the Stacey Solomon reasoning?

She was rude and pulled the whole ‘don’t you know who I am?’ crap to get what she wanted.

The actor Colin Farrell is an absolute sweetheart. A lovely man with the best energy, very generous with his time.

I used to work with a promoter who booked music acts, Jess Glynne stands out as being particularly rude. Horrible attitude. Rita Ora was lovely.

Colin Farrell was always top of my shag list as a teenager.

Still would, mind!

That was meant to be in reply to Gigwidow's post, but it didn't show the quote!

SaySomethingMan · 10/03/2023 17:24

They are humans, just like the average joe. Sometimes they have bad days.
Id rather they were true on their bad days instead of just being ‘nice’ to the point where it takes a toll on their mental health.

Only those who are close to them can say whether they’re nice or not, really.

ElizabethBest · 10/03/2023 17:26

Lovely:
Eddie Redmayne
Kiera Knightley
Rochelle Humes
Rylan Clark
Dermot O'Leary
Tom Hardy
Andrew Scott

Not lovely:
Amanda Byram
Holly Willoughby
David Walliams
Oliver Chris
Sandi Toksvig

How nasty.

meercat23 · 10/03/2023 17:27

Francois Pienaar lovely. Opened a sports science centre and made time for everyone
Sir Steve Redgrave seemed quite shy but very friendly
Billy Connolly Delightful, chatty and very funny
Gordon Ramsey and his wife. They were obviously busy and on business in a London hotel but made time for everyone who wanted to speak to them. Absolutely lovely and not at all like his TV persona. His wife is stunning.

ElizabethBest · 10/03/2023 17:30

@Gigwidow I have to say that really surprises me - I've met her plenty of times through my old work, and she was always just lovely. Really kind and friendly.

I know, right? We used to play a lot of scrabble in competitions as kids and he was a parent adjudicator type person (the ones who keep the times and check spellings etc) and he let the kids on his table see their letters before the 'you may now begin'. My mum was in charge and she was very cross as that's outside the rules. He looked a bit hangdog. Probably recognised the pre-menopausal stressed woman and thought he'd steer clear. He was very lovely though from my memory!

Richhandcream · 10/03/2023 17:34

Lewis Hamilton - really nice bloke, had a good chat with him. James Corden - exactly as you'd expect, made my skin crawl. Totto Wolff is actually very nice to talk to, he has a charming smile and for me at least a certain... something... 😘

AnnoyedFromSlough · 10/03/2023 17:34

I don't have much to add.

Mark Watson, the comedian is an absolute gem.
Second hand - a friend was on the voice and said Ricky Wilson was great. Interacted with all the acts, not just his own. She also had really good things to say about Will-i-am.
An acquaintance works in television - doesn't like working with Rochelle Hume and her husband, as the days are always very long and slow (long breaks throughout the day), but says working with Richard Osman is great, he just wants to get the job done, so they get more done in a shorter day.

She’s actually lovely. I’ve met her many times through work. I get the distinct impression though that this is the sort of attitude she encounters a lot and she has had to learn to stick up for herself due to narrow minded bitchiness about her looks (she’s beautiful but for some reason her looks are often criticised?)

Other lovely people I’ve met through work are
Amanda Holden (really friendly)
Alex Jones (Absolutely lovely the sort of person you want to be best friends with just really down to earth , chatty and genuine)

stupidsocialmedia · 10/03/2023 17:36

I'm surprised by a PP saying David Jason is rumoured to be nasty. My Dsis knows him pretty well (well enough for him to bring gifts for her from abroad, taking his dog on holiday - who I spent time with too, having play dates with his daughter and her son). My dad also met him a few times and they got on like a house on fire. I only met his wife, but she was lovely.

Sir Patrick Moore was lovely. Very tall, but really kind. Likewise Finty Williams (Judi Dench's daughter) and Charles Dance. Toby Jones was a real sweetheart as was Jimmy Yuill . Natascha Mcelhone was very beautiful, but extremely reserved.

Ralph Fiennes has a wicked sense of humour (and I have his phone number).

Know someone who worked in the sports news industry for years.. Gary Liniker was a complete arse and was rude to many .. she always dreaded working with him.

Met Pete a few times now from the Libertines and he's a great guy, genuinely friendly and intelligent. I also had a lovely chat with Vinnie Jones on a flight back from Tenerife top bloke! Goldie Hawn pissed up in the restaurant toilets being a complete diva 😆 very amusing but embarrassing at the same time.

Gary Linekar is a boorish lecherous perv. Well known for it.

Mel C is really nice.

She asked me for a towel at a gym once and was perfectly nice and polite 😁

Bananasinpjamas4567 · 10/03/2023 17:41

James Spader is a complete tool. Still would divorce my husband for him in an instant!

HaveTheDayOff · 10/03/2023 17:42

Don’t say anything about Philip Schofield or the thread will be pulled!

Odd1outagain · 10/03/2023 17:43

Christopher dean, lovely always chats (lives local)
Jane torvil quite stand off ish.
Derren brown lovely and genuine
Rylan, just adorable

Rinkydinkydoodle · 10/03/2023 17:44

Michael Palin. A beautiful chap inside and out.

Jeremy Corbyn. Kinda rude for a Man of the People.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/03/2023 17:46

@imaginationhasfailedme

He was very lovely though from my memory !

Peace is restored on Earth Grin
I cannot believe Brian May can be anything but lovely except if his clogs were chafing his feet

GandhiDeclaredWarOnYou · 10/03/2023 17:52

I don't think we can really judge from brief interactions at all.

I once was in a book shop during a celebrity signing about 30 years ago. Massive queue going down the street. I had to pop back 3 hours later to collect sometning and the celebrity was still there even though the event was meant to end over and hour before. But there were still fans waiting so he stayed and chatted and signed and doodled in people's books with as much warmth and humour as he had 3 hours before.

"Hadn't liked him before," I told DH when I got in that evening, "bit fair play to him he's a very friendly, nice bloke."

Rolf Harris.

You can't tell a damned thing from a brief hello.

GwendolenAbott · 10/03/2023 17:52

Naomi Campbell, absolutely gorgeous

pharrel Williams first day of meeting him he wasn’t as lovely as I would have expected him to be, the second day he explained why.. final impressions were very good
