To nobody’s surprise, the frantic pace of this latest game means that the last thread is full and (as far as I can see) <polishes lorgnette> we don’t yet have a successor. So, off we go with a Brunswick Lateral to

Russell Square

I think we had Lancaster Gate recently; but of course if we’re going with ‘52 we don’t face the usual issue of the anti-lux, so that’s fine.

I’m going to use a twist to bump us over to Grange Hill.

LlynTegid · 07/11/2023 06:55

Given the direction of approach to Grange Hill, Fairlop it is.

MarkWithaC · 07/11/2023 14:53

I have to go with Parsons Green, given the lower-range Schatt we’re navigating.

Quiet here just now. Is the deceptively slow speed of play putting people off? Don’t be fooled…

HazelBite · 07/11/2023 16:19

Lower range Schatt in play? My, my we are being bold!
I can only counter with Preston Road and that is being cautious.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/11/2023 16:36

Hmm. That sleight of hand doesn’t fool me.

Turnham Green

OP posts:
TragicMuse · 07/11/2023 19:14

Oh Haringey Green Lanes. Unquestionably.

DuckonaBike · 07/11/2023 20:36

Oh, very sophisticated, Tragic. But the Brunswick Lateral is a somewhat dangerous move; I remember the Colonel once playing it and ending up on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. These things can backfire.

I’m countering with a Reverse Prince Albert to Gospel Oak

ArthurbellaScott · 07/11/2023 21:18

Ha! I had half expected it, Duck.

Brace yourselves.

Mill Hill East.

How d'you like them apples?!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/11/2023 23:51

If it’s fruit you want,

Covent Garden

OP posts:
MarkWithaC · 08/11/2023 11:21

Joking aside, that move introduces a Davidov half-post, so I'm going to have to be careful…

Northwood Hills

(yes, I used up a Buffer. Needs must.)

LlynTegid · 08/11/2023 17:50

Well it has to be played at some point, Pinner. So I'll move there now.

MarkWithaC · 08/11/2023 18:44

Played with great flair, Llyn! Reminiscent of dear old Nigel T. himself, if I don't embarrass you by saying so.
I will play a much less exalted move to Pudding Mill Lane. I find it hard to resist an opportunity to use a back gimlet.

DuckonaBike · 08/11/2023 20:15

Whoah, careful there Mark! It’s a Wednesday in November, so the DLR is wild!

I’m going to play a Dunning-Kruger to Bethnal Green

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/11/2023 11:51

Sigh. What a mess. Let’s get things back on a solid footing.

Chigwell

OP posts:
ArthurbellaScott · 09/11/2023 11:53

That's a reassuring move, Maud. Especially given the recent disturbances in the magnetosphere.

Goodge Street.

LlynTegid · 09/11/2023 13:36

I think we need to start going south then west to get us out of any possible difficulty, and so Holland Park it is.

ArthurbellaScott · 09/11/2023 14:04

Are you sure, Llyn? I've just checked the tide tables and I'm feeling somewhat uneasy.

With that in mind:

Waverley

HazelBite · 09/11/2023 19:33

All I can come up with is Goldhawk Road it should be straight forward to follow now, a d avoid Nidd.

MarkWithaC · 10/11/2023 13:11

I think we'd have to be pretty unlucky to find ourselves in Nidd from there, given that clever mini-tink by Arthurbella. Lovely move regardless though.
I'm going to use a Bifurcate and go to Whitechapel.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/11/2023 13:21

Tally Ho! I’ve been waiting days for this. Pennington’s Midway to

Monument

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 10/11/2023 15:11

The DLR rule needs dusting off and takes me to Canning Town.

MarkWithaC · 10/11/2023 15:55

South Hampstead (the Fox-Upney Rule is in play, before anyone starts).

DuckonaBike · 10/11/2023 21:29

Ooh ooh! I’ve been waiting for this opportunity:

Maida Vale

LlynTegid · 10/11/2023 21:52

@MarkWithaC clever move that. From Maida Vale it has to be via the Elizabeth line rule to Hayes and Harlington.

MarkWithaC · 11/11/2023 12:54

Oh, that's a lovely move, Llyn. I'd forgotten about that triple quagga that Maida Vale introduces. I need to brush up, clearly.

Anyway, Plaistow it is for me (rhomboidal).
