To nobody’s surprise, the frantic pace of this latest game means that the last thread is full and (as far as I can see) <polishes lorgnette> we don’t yet have a successor. So, off we go with a Brunswick Lateral to

Russell Square

I thought the Walsall Protocol only applied in winter months, and whilst it has been lower than average temperatures in May this year, cannot think it applies. Mind you, this might have been the source of the heated debates in the 1984 tournament where the Major stormed off.

Custom House, via the Elizabeth line.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 25/05/2023 09:42

I knew you would be au fait with the Walsall Protocol, LlynTegid, but not everyone has your encyclopaedic knowledge of the game of games, alas.

Gidea Park

HazelBite · 25/05/2023 10:43

Walsall protocol??

We are veering off course may I be as bold to suggest
Turnpike Lane

LlynTegid · 26/05/2023 07:23

Protocols are a part of the game of games, though less used than many aspects. So is the bus replacement rule, which I invoke to get to Finsbury Park

TragicMuse · 02/06/2023 15:00

I'm terribly behind.

The Walsall Protocol eh? That's brave, you know that last time it took months to calm the Memsahib. And the table linen was never the same again...

First Friday of the month means all parks are wild so I can make a Blunkett's leap to Arnos Grove.

LlynTegid · 02/06/2023 15:17

You don't need any protocol to explore Trent Park, a short walk from Oakwood.

DuckonaBike · 02/06/2023 22:04

Evening all. Apologies for my prolonged absence. As far as I can recall, I just popped out for a quick half a couple of weeks ago and, well, one thing led to another. You know how it is. But we’ve now finished clearing up, dealt with the most pressing legal claims and replanted the vegetable garden, so it’s all good.

Barons Court

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 02/06/2023 22:26

No more prevarication (and, strictly enter nous, DuckOnABike, but there’s a pronounced aroma of compost and crème de menthe around the place)

West Finchley

OP posts:
DuckonaBike · 04/06/2023 21:39

I know this is a risky move and there’s a danger of getting embrangled, but it’s Full Moon so I’m going with

Mill Hill Broadway

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/06/2023 22:10

I understand your caution. We’re still feeling the shockwaves from the embranglement at last year’s quarter finals. The rear admiral still hasn’t been discharged from the sanatorium, although at least they’ve dealt with the subsidence.

Seven Sisters

OP posts:
HazelBite · 05/06/2023 10:01

Oh I see what you did there Maud!
I can only counter with Blackhorse Road (I think the Rear Admiral would approve)

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/06/2023 10:31

The rear admiral has been advised to avoid mental exertion, so at the moment I’m not seeking his advice on the many conundrums in the game of games. His brother the colonel, though, has just rung me to say that the only option now is a transverse Penhaligon to

Hyde Park Corner

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 05/06/2023 10:34

Time for the disused stations rule, and I am sure Churchill's bath needs a good clean (yes there is one at this station)- Down Street.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/06/2023 10:40

Good to see the regular players returning to this game of the legendary game of games, although (of course) any newbies hesitating on the sidelines should not be deterred. I’m now slightly hemmed in, but I hope this will be my escape:

Moorgate

OP posts:
TragicMuse · 05/06/2023 21:15

Ravenscourt Park. Obviously.

DuckonaBike · 05/06/2023 21:21

Oh, very stylish, Tragic. I’m inspired to try a Duckworth Lewis to

Royal Oak

HazelBite · 06/06/2023 06:22

Oh if we're talking Duckworth Lewis then I have to go to Northwood Hills

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 06/06/2023 16:15

Oh botheration. Duckworth Lewis stymied my intended move.

I suppose I will have to make do with an inelegant parallel traverse to Finchley Central

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/06/2023 17:36

Hmm. You extricated yourself from that mess very neatly, ChazsBrilliantAttitude. I’m feeling somewhat frivolous, so let’s disregard the Dover convention and head for

Harrow on the Hill

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 06/06/2023 18:08

I think time to move to Eastcote, as any further would be too late for tea.

HazelBite · 06/06/2023 18:49

I'm going to Pinner for dinner!

LlynTegid · 07/06/2023 18:18

I think Rickmansworth should be the next step, see if there is any nightlife there.

HazelBite · 07/06/2023 21:57

Watford is a better bet @LlynTegid 😏

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/06/2023 22:48

I get the jitters this far from the river, but

Chalfont and Latimer

OP posts:
HazelBite · 07/06/2023 22:52

Perhaps then Maud we should consider (bearing in mind the Wallsall Protocol) your preference for the river and go to Temple
