Look at what I rescued from a wheelie bin this morning....

Isn't she gorgeous?

Some absolute tosser had just fucked her into their bin 😢

I saw the leafy bit sticking out the top of a wheelie bin on my dog walk and had to save her. I didn't expect her to be quite so call - trunk just kept on coming.

I've potted her and I'm letting her rest and acclimatize in my bathroom for now before I find her permanent home.

As you can see, I don't have a nice pot for her yet so she's having to make do with a nursery pot and a dinner plate. Don't judge us.

I''m with you @VegetablesFightingToReclaimTheAubergieneEmoji and @viques .

I also stand them up etc if they are fallen over, push bits back into the pot if any are broken off etc

I put a little cactus back into its pot in Ikea a few weeks ago (saying "Oh you poor little thing you've got knocked out") and I got thoroughly prickled! The woman next to me and I chorused "No good deed goes unpunished!" (you'd think we had rehearsed it) and had a laugh over it.

Ah lovely, imagine throwing out a healthy plant. Many years ago my dad was renovating a house and he found a little plant clinging to life in a bit of moss in an old broken piece of gutter. He took it home and planted it in the garden and it grew to be a 60 foot plus pine tree that we all practically lived in when were kids.

That's a lovely story Smile

Sorry to hijack, but as there is a lot of love for plants, can my sad plant be rescued? I have been watering it, but it has descended into a state of depression - like it’s given up on life (coincided with me feeling like this) .

@Shitfather With the caveat that I know nothing much about plants, might you have over-watered it?

The bottom bit looks really healthy, it's just the top that's looking sad. Obviously. You can see this. I don't know what to do with that observation 🙃

Concur with @IceIceBabyBump, overwatering is the likely culprit. Wait until the soil is dry to the touch before watering. Benign neglect is generally the best policy for houseplant care.

That looks like over-watering to me.

You are killing her with kindness.

There's a new range on bloom and wild. They've partnered with an all female company that rescues plants. You get a large or medium plant and the rescue kit and nice basket for it and the instructions on how to give it the TLC it needs.

Thought it was a nice idea for Mother's Day. MIL is into plant rescue too so I'm going to order her one.

I've got a £10 off code if anyone wants to use and I get a credit too Daffodil

Thank you all for responding to my pic. Yes the bottom one is very healthy. Top one is sad. I’ll stop watering.

"You honestly can't be serious?" "miserable wankery" - Sorry, it's the law. Look it up.

Who says it's the law? 😋
