The secret things you do that no-one else knows....

Every day that DP is out of the house at work, I buy an early-afternoon energy drink. They are rancid, sugary, unhealthy and downright common as muck but I absolutely love the buzz I get for the rest of the day. DP would be appalled with me if he found out 😅

My MN habit is a secret too. I don't have children, and I'm meant to have a professional, busy job which doesn't allow time for fucking about online. But here I am. I'm friends with a lot of women with young children who regularly talk about things being discussed on MN. I feign surprise or interest but I'm really thinking "Yeah, I saw that".

When I'm stressed and home alone, I talk to myself. I talk myself through what's getting me down, why, and what I need to do. I also reassure myself saying things like "Pull yourself together, it's fine, make a list and let's start at the top". I have no shame about this, I think its a perfectly normal thing to do. Except that I talk to myself in random accents. Today I went inexplicably scouse. My temporary foreign accent syndrome is the reason I keep this particularly activity a secret.

Tell me your secrets....

I so wish I knew how to do this. I did it a few years ago but only made about £100 after loads of effort. I told a few people at the time but they definitely thought I was gambling, no matter how much I explained!!

Yep I don’t think people understand… “too good to be true!” Kinda thing. It’s not as good as it used to be, bookies don’t give out as many free bets now due to new gambling regulations, plus bookies are quick to “gub” (stopping letting you have free bets etc.) once they click you’re a matched better. It takes a little time to get used to it but once you do it’s easy money!

I miss my youth when nearly every month there would be a dress themed party, or an excuse for fancy dress.

Nowadays I only get to dress up on Halloween when my DH and I do a crazy Halloween experience for the village kids.

We do live in Spain, and luckily our village loves Halloween so we go all out.

Even so, I am known as the mad English witch in some circles 😱

I watch role play ASMR. Things like massage, medical exams and chiropractors. Problem is the thumbnails/stills can look like girl on girl porn. If someone saw my YouTube list without reading the titles, they'd wonder.
They've helped me massively with sleep routine and even controlling anxiety. If I've got a big day ahead, for example, I spend a few minutes watching a video when I wake up and it calms me.

I make up silly little songs and sing them to myself or, mostly, to the dog. I've got loads of them to suit all situations and I regularly come up with new ones. Obviously I have never, and will never, tell anyone about this 😂

My daughters are very very into barbies, they take them very seriously, I never had them as a child but I loved playing with them at friends houses.
They ask me to play pretty much everyday and I love it, its so fun.
I wouldn't tell anyone in real life except my girls, but we have whole soap opera style backstories for the barbies and the stories roll over into the next day. We recently bought some action men from the charity shop to add more characters.

Currently Poppy is lying to Millie about who stole her purple handbag- it was actually her sister Rainbow who threw it in the stables because she was annoyed at her for not making enough spaghetti and meatballs for everyone at the birthday party etc

Its fully mad and I would never admit how much I actually enjoy it.

I'm obsessed with "tiny cooking" videos. Things like tiny meatballs and pasta, or tiny cheeseburgers and fries, like doll's house size tiny. They even cook in tiny pans on tiny stoves with tea lights for the heat. It's just fascinating to watch and I wish I was delicate enough to be able to make it myself.

If I can't fall asleep at night, me and Hugh Jackman have the most amazing intellectual conversations. But also some about very random shit. He likes red wine, but I prefer rose with ice.

When I listen to Pop Master I count my score for both contestants so I regularly convince myself I have scored 20+ points.

I have booked hotel rooms, pretending I have late/early work commitments, just so I can have a long bath, room service and watch TV in bed entirely alone.

And although I've explained the reason for the secret cleaner in about 5 different posts some people are too quick to jump to conclusions and "deduct" things, Freud has nothing on them, lmao

I am also a secret TERF both in the workplace and with my friends. I once tried to discuss it with my friends, and they were so shocked and angry that I had to drop it. I am also a leftie liberal in everything, so my friends are probably shocked at me siding with the Tories on this one. They haven't read up on it. I hope they will one day.
