I've just been to the post box with a birthday card and to the library to change my book. What's more I walked there and back. What old ways are you hanging onto?

I ride a Penny-Farthing to work.

😁

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 13/02/2023 18:53

I've been going through Yellow Pages to try and find a child chimney sweep.
No luck so far...and they say people can't find jobs. Tut.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 13/02/2023 19:15

I nearly always cook from scratch. We have takeaways once in a blue moon, and it’s not down to money.
We still have a landline - hardly used, but calls from Dsis in the US are often clearer on it than on my mobile.
We still have a newspaper delivered every day, and milk in glass bottles. plus eggs and the odd other thing, 3 times a week.

PoseyFlump · 13/02/2023 19:31

I commute by morris dance.

😂 I'd pay good money to see that.

TheSpottedZebra · 13/02/2023 19:38

Tratjymp · 13/02/2023 18:05

I commute by morris dance.

No, they had Morris Dancing at the Brits so you're very 2023 I'm afraid.

I ride a Penny-Farthing to work.

That's more the century before last?

Rollercoaster1920 · 13/02/2023 20:40

I use an oyster card. I top it up using the machines in tube stations.

Tratjymp · 13/02/2023 20:42

Mine involves a Maypole.

Rayn22 · 13/02/2023 20:51

I love a proper diary. My friend owns a stationers and she said they sold out this year!

I can't get to grip with a kindle so prefer a book.

Think afternoon tea should make a comeback and not just be a treat.

Hate having a quilt and would love blankets but husband refuses.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 13/02/2023 16:31

Cards, same as you.

I still have a landline

I pay cash or card, not by phone

I have DVDs and CDs and I don't stream TV.

I write postcards.

All the above. I have a basic flip-phone, that I've never taken photos on. I only keep it in case someone needs to contact me while I'm out.

GreyCarpet · 13/02/2023 21:15

I don't have an electric kettle, a toaster or a microwave. According to my children, that makes me the century before last.

gluenotsoup · 13/02/2023 21:21

I use a proper wall calendar, not one on my phone. That way everyone is responsible for keeping an eye on what’s happening rather than it just being me because it’s on my phone

DobbyTheHouseElk · 13/02/2023 21:23

I love my filo-fax
fil-o-fax?

I use the post office, usually walk there to do banking because all the banks have shut…

I use local shops, order bread. Walk to and fro with my reusable bags.

Have a landline.

Pay cash.

LexMitior · 13/02/2023 21:25

I do not eat in the street, I do not talk on trains on the phone, I buy a newspaper of actual paper on a Sunday, I do not have a ring doorbell nor will I have ever have CCTV, I only wear sports kit when doing actual sport, and I cook from scratch.

I

I can’t bear reading things on a screen. Often, I literally have to print stuff off before I can read it.

I hate mobile phones. I hate the f-ing things. I hate the sound they make, and I hate the fact that anyone can get hold of me at any time.

Also, I loathe kindles. To me, books are beautiful objects. You would have to put a gun to my head to make me switch to a kindle. My books are old friends - battered and worn, with their familiar covers and pencilled scrawlings, etc. I love having my P G Wodehouse and Jane Austen and Dickens and Woolf lined up on my shelves. Just looking at them is a comfort. Who wants to read Sherlock Holmes or Lord of the Rings on a screen when they can’t sleep?!

ZenNudist · 13/02/2023 21:57

I wear a bustle
Eat grouse
Employ a chimney sweep

faffadoodledo · 13/02/2023 21:57

I have never used Deliveroo or caught an Uber
I greet my neighbours in the street. And open the door to them if they knock.
I still use a wall calendar.
I drink tea
I still have a landline even though it only seems to attract nuisance calls

Getir · 13/02/2023 22:03

I let the cook have every other Sunday afternoon off.

magicthree · 13/02/2023 22:16

I don't so social media, unless mn counts.

I still write and post letters, walk pretty much everywhere I go.

blueshoes · 13/02/2023 22:28

I use online banking rather than a mobile app.

Andante57 · 13/02/2023 22:31

I commute by morris dance

Thighdentitycrisis · 13/02/2023 22:31

I don’t know how to use Uber
I never eat takeaway food
Don’t own a tv
Stovetop kettle
Don’t have a car
single glazing

blueshoes · 13/02/2023 22:33

I change money into foreign currency at the moneychangers before I go on holiday.
