What just happened to me!?

I’m prepared to be told I’m mentally unwell and need to see a doctor (last resort) but I’m certain I just entered a time glitch.

I was driving into the countryside to collect my daughter from a sleepover and everything felt like it was really slow. I pulled over as I thought it was the car. I looked up and saw a Concorde flying above me. The type that were a common sight in the 90s and before. I’m 100% it was a Concorde and not a similar looking plane as I grew up near air fields and ports and watched them daily.

The car that was driving behind me had vanished. There was no where for it to go as we were on a very narrow country lane and over taking would have been very difficult. Even the birds were moving slower, like they were hovering not gliding.
I got back in the car and after 10 minutes or so everything was back to normal. I arrived late to collect my daughter so I’m not sure what happened with the time as I set off early. I saw the car behind me as I was pulling into the driveway of the house I was going to.

My husband thinks I’m pranking him, my best friend laughed and said I clearly drank too much last night (I didn’t), I’m confident I didn’t faint or black out so I don’t know what the explanation is.
I’ve Googled this specific place to see if there is anything ‘wrong’ but I can’t find any stories and no mention of Concorde sights. Ive seen a few stories of time stopping still for people but I’m sceptical about this sort of stuff. I just can’t shake the creepiness of it! Has this happened to anyone else?

Not exactly same, but +10 years ago I had a strange/maybe not so strange experience..I was walking home from Uni on an early spring evening. As i really like walking, and weather was nice I decided to explore a new route to my home which I thought would be a short cut. Basically there was this huge area -I thought it was a park, I was going around it and on that day I decided to walk through the park to cut my walk short. I had my phone but it was not as smart as they are now, so I had no access to google maps then but I am pretty good with directions, creating a map in my mind etc so I was feeling very confident. Well, apparently the place was a golf course, (I always thought golf courses would have member entries through a building) so I find myself in the middle of an empty golf course which was eerily quite. I started walking towards the direction I thought was towards my home but It felt as if I was walking for ages. I think until certain point I was thinking I can always go back to where I entered and use my usual route, but as I kept walking and hoped to find an exit, I started to worry. I found a posaible exit door which was huge, really old and looked unused for many years, which is fine, it happens. In the end I started walk parallel to the door to find an opening among the bushes which was quite tick. I saw what I was looking for after some more walking. I literally crawled to the main road, then all the voices came back, cars are passing, people are walking and talking...I think that short cut was more than 1 hour longer...I read somewhere "Shortest route is the one you know" and I definitely believe that now. It was not a very extraordinary but although I was walking in a park that claustrophobic feeling and that quiteness and the feeling as if time slowed down was very disturbing...maybe I made myself scared, and the more brain is scared the more it exaggerate things..not sure but never went there again...
Another time, different city (I was a bit tipsy) arrived home, inserted my keys to the door and as I was turning the key, key felt somehow soft in my hand, like a dough, (yes, yes, like "there is no spoon") I think I dozed of a second or something because it felt that key turning action was very slow, but when I snapped out of that dozing of stage, my key just broke, half stayed in the lock half in my palm. You could see the key was twisted to a side a bit then broke. Lucky part was I was able to pick the part that stayed in the lock with my fingers. Managed to wake my landlord ( I was a lodger) to open the door for me.

Spooky and I’d love to know the answer.

DH and I were going for a walk one evening about 20 years ago (London). We saw this round object in the sky, disappeared after a few seconds, maybe longer. He thinks it was the International Space Station.

thegreencomet · 14/02/2023 23:54

In that missing timeline, you were abducted and anally probed by aliens.

@Mlsweetpea so… you got a bit lost but then you found your way back.

Then another time, you got so pissed you clumsily broke something that's known to sometimes snap from metal fatigue.

Woooooo… 👻

Schnooze · 14/02/2023 23:58

Could be this. You feel, hear and see imaginary events which seem totally real at the time. Happens just as you are falling asleep but you can wake up immediately so you don’t actually sleep.

What just happened to me!?

I think you fell asleep at the wheel.

There is no such thing as time travel.

So you know that as an absolute fact do you?

PamDoovesHat. Rude. You.

If you have nothing useful to contribute on the subject that can help the OP, don’t try to sound clever by being rude to others who do bother to contribute something they know.

Electricity seems to be the culprit here

sammyjoanne · 15/02/2023 00:14

Did you go through a time slip? Ive been investigating the paranormal for 20 years and its really rare, like ive only ever come across one case of this and time seems to go really slow (hence the birds) and also you seeing a plane going past indicating something that happened 30 years back. I know it sounds silly, but there have been documented cases of this.

You could have also lost time. Your were not asleep, but your mind went quite for a bit and lost time, hence why you was late picking our DD up. If this starts to be a regular occurance, definitely see a doctor. Your not going crazy, but it can be things like lack of sleep/diet which can make you zone out for a bit.

hobbcat · 15/02/2023 00:14

Please see your doctor to rule out any underlying conditions. As you were driving too, really concerning.

Seems like an experiment out of eg skunk works ect, as for the disappearing car, a camoflarged tunnel entrance or secret road way built into the area, or the car shut off power eg emp pulse maybe?

Mellymoon · 15/02/2023 00:21

probably was a concord being piloted privately for something- filming a movie.. a rich persons day out.. or to take it somewhere for some reason…

Gemzee · 13/02/2023 10:46

It's not happened to me but I do believe in stuff like this. It sounds very odd and a bit scary tbh but also facinating!
Sorry nothing helpful to add.

Well, even the Pentagon can’t rule out UFOs.

WASHINGTON — The government still has no explanation for nearly all of the scores of unidentified aerial phenomena reported over almost two decades and investigated by a Pentagon task force, according to a report released on Friday, a result that is likely to fuel theories of otherworldly visitations.

Well USA already has their version of a stargate sg1 team.

ElliF · 15/02/2023 00:30

Did you notice if the types of cars and their number plates changed?
Did it look anything like this one?

Citation for my quote above about USA and UFOs
www.nytimes.com/2021/06/25/us/politics/pentagon-ufo-report.html

Sorry I couldn’t put it on same message, I’m on my old iPad and it rubs off the MN when I try to copy the web address.

In my 30 ish years of doing various research, as well as being a sceptic and very critical, I saw that there is a massive amount of UFO sightings and very many are substantiated by many witnesses. It might be of interest to you, OP, but of course there are oddballs among the good ones!

Much more distressing is the research into animal mutilation. You need a strong constitution. I could not cope but was guided through the points that are kept from the public.

As I said, I am a sceptic and a researcher, so I scrutinise evidence very hard. Anyway, it’s interesting whatever you make of it.

I expect most people know about the Sheffield UFO seen by a Policeman among others, anyway.

Mamanyt · 15/02/2023 00:42

Not quite that, but something just as unsettling. I was driving in a very nice area of Chattanooga, Tennessee, one of a country club's residential areas. I turned off the main road onto a side road, and entered an undeveloped area, with big, mature trees. It was lovely. About a quarter of a mile up, I came on a HUGE home, built of dark gray stone, sitting on a small rise and overlooking the Tennessee River. There was a carriage house behind it. I assumed, at the time, that it was now a garage. Kept going, and the road ended in a cross-street, which I turned on to. Later, I took my then-husband down to see that beautiful home and grounds, turned onto the side road, and found a totally developed neighborhood. Not a single sign of the home I had so loved.

I actually went back to the area several times over the coming months, looking for that house, but I never found it. Or even an undeveloped road where it MIGHT have been. It remains a total mystery to me.

Ellyesse · 15/02/2023 01:24

The Sheffield UFO was reported by PC Alan Godfrey. Date... err.... 1997? I can’t look it up because my message below will get wiped off - old iPad!

Hawkins003 Actually, there is a strong belief among some quite sane Scientists that we are fed - by USA entertainment- ideas of ‘what is to come’.
Thus films herald future events and inventions.
It’s all supposed to make it easier for us to swallow when it becomes real.
Of course, once you start thinking this way, you’ll start thinking of films that portrayed something that has since happened.
Luckily, I’m too sceptical to get sucked in. I’m trying to think of a film ....... someone said ‘Contagion’ but that’s somewhat cynical I’d say.

While I agree with the comments about changes in sensory experience can suggest types of epilepsy, if it were me and I felt perfectly normal and well, I might wait a week and see if anything else happened before going to the Doctor. It’s easy for us readers to jump on epilepsy as a cause, but we can’t possibly make that call from a written message. As has been stated it takes a lot to get the diagnosis of epilepsy, and I think our OP has revealed she’s very safety conscious and sensible.

DahliaRose3 · 15/02/2023 01:27

UFO??

Flippingnora100 · 15/02/2023 01:50

Therapist here. It could be depersonalization/derealization.

Ginburee · 15/02/2023 06:52

If you are worried go to your GP.

I have hearlots of stories like this and I hear and believe you.

Kate0902900908 · 15/02/2023 07:19

When I was 4/5 years old I was in the garden and everything slowed down, the wind stopped blowing it went silent and the trees didn’t move. I looked through the patio doors and my mum was sleeping on the sofa, moments before she was in the kitchen preparing food. It lasted minuets maybe 10 and stood looking up and around.
I remember even at that age feeling absolute calm and peace I’ve remembered it my entire life.

Helswatts · 15/02/2023 07:46

Hi personally I’d google it as only you know what else is going on in your life, there’s something called Tachypsychia or it could be anxiety, lack of sleep, I’m not sure how old you are if it’s to do with anxiety it could be peri menopause, which can start in our late 30’s, and yes it can make us feel like we are going mad. Good luck with finding out what it is.

Had something like this as a young teenage (12 or 13) with 2 other friends. We stumbled upon a strange cluster of old houses at the edge of some woods we knew pretty well that we'd not seen before. There was a young man/older teenager in really old fashioned clothing chopping wood, no cars, no electricity, smoke from the chimneys. The young lad spoke to us with a really country accent which wasn't usual for the parts. We felt uncomfortable and left, only later did we realize we couldn't hear the noise from the nearby motorway or hear any planes (it was on a busy route into Heathrow and you could always hear plans).

We could never find it again, and couldn't find it on a map. Still don't know if it really happened or not or if we just got lost and it was a set of coincidences.

How long ago did this happen? Just out of curiosity .
