What just happened to me!?

I’m prepared to be told I’m mentally unwell and need to see a doctor (last resort) but I’m certain I just entered a time glitch.

I was driving into the countryside to collect my daughter from a sleepover and everything felt like it was really slow. I pulled over as I thought it was the car. I looked up and saw a Concorde flying above me. The type that were a common sight in the 90s and before. I’m 100% it was a Concorde and not a similar looking plane as I grew up near air fields and ports and watched them daily.

The car that was driving behind me had vanished. There was no where for it to go as we were on a very narrow country lane and over taking would have been very difficult. Even the birds were moving slower, like they were hovering not gliding.
I got back in the car and after 10 minutes or so everything was back to normal. I arrived late to collect my daughter so I’m not sure what happened with the time as I set off early. I saw the car behind me as I was pulling into the driveway of the house I was going to.

My husband thinks I’m pranking him, my best friend laughed and said I clearly drank too much last night (I didn’t), I’m confident I didn’t faint or black out so I don’t know what the explanation is.
I’ve Googled this specific place to see if there is anything ‘wrong’ but I can’t find any stories and no mention of Concorde sights. Ive seen a few stories of time stopping still for people but I’m sceptical about this sort of stuff. I just can’t shake the creepiness of it! Has this happened to anyone else?

Alice in Wonderland syndrome can give time distortions and visual hallucinations.

There is a subReddit called Glitch In The Matrix.. they would love this on there and you’d get some good feedback (no slight intended to the Mumsnet feedback)

I had a mini seizure once while getting my blood taken. Everything went slow motion and I thought my hands had turned into whisks and I was at home baking in the kitchen. Came to approximately 3 seconds later to realise I was grabbing the poor nurse by the scruff of his scrubs and holding his face upto mine.

And that's why I support the nurse strikes 😂

I’m not woo at all. But many years ago, my late grandmother told me that she once went into a pub, was sober, and briefly ended up experiencing what can only be described as some time of time warp, for a few seconds.

I won’t go into the story, but no one ever believed her, and she wasn’t in the least bit woo either. Far from it. This happened in the 70s.

Some things can’t be explained.

My parents told us a story not so long ago, I think it happened in Cornwall in the 80s they were driving on a narrow country road and stopped off at a pub (middle of the day with us kids), we carried on the drive down the same country lane before returning the same route on the same road back to where we were staying. The pub had disappeared, they drove past the spot it was and it wasnt there. They both saw this and said what the hell, we had all been in the pub, it was there and then poof gone. It still leaves them scratching their head to this day. They definitely didn't turned off or go a different way, it was a 1 road in and out place.

I believe weird stuff that can't be explained can happen, I guess it's like the bold street time slip, I only found out about that through googling the thing that happened to my parents. Fascinating stuff!

Halfterm, have you told that story on here before?
Because I’m certain I’ve read somewhere an almost identical story. A couple , or might have been two friends , I can’t remember exactly.

They also found a nice pub, I’m sure may have also been Cornwall, went back there to return to it and it had completely disappeared! No trace of the pub.

I also remember a tv programme called Strange But True? in the 90s. Michael Aspel presented it. One story was about two couple’s travelling through France together on holiday. They found an old fashioned hotel and stayed the night. The hotel worker was dressed in old fashioned clothes and the place didn’t have electricity.

They left and continued with their holiday. On the way back, they looked for the hotel and it was gone. Nowhere to be seen.

Of course they could have made it up to go on television, but who knows ?

Nope I've not told the story before, it's probably the same pub glitching lol! My mum and dad are 100% sure what they saw, they weren't drunk either, even if it was the 80s!

A few years back i had a situation where i had a glitch in time! It really scared me and i honestly couldnt shake that feeling for weeks! It felt like i had switched realities with an alternate me! And i was now in the wrong one! My partner and i had gone to the shop, everything was normal, we saw some people we dont speak to so had a short talk about who we saw and after grabbing some bits, went home. After we got home we “had some time together” and somewhere in that i snapped out and came back later on. I snapped back when my partner asked about our time together and i was dumbfounded as i didnt remember anything that had just happened! The last thing i remembered was going to the shop, seeing those people, picking up our stuff and having that talk on the way home! I shot up and asked if we went to the shops and saw those people are recalled the days events that i remembered and my partner said it all happened but a few days ago!

I swear it was all the same day, nothing felt right from that point on, i couldnt recall anything that happened since the shop visit which to me was a few hrs ago but in reality was like 2-3 days ago! Like wtf! It was almost like a bad drug trip i had years earlier but at least then i knew i had taken shrooms or something!

I believe what you went through and have heard of a lot of people having similar situations, in London there are a few places that can cause time glitches but personally i have never been there to try and witness it! I found the whole thing scary and there was nothing wrong with mentally or physically!

Yourcatisnotsorry · 14/02/2023 20:55

did you take a photo of ‘concorde’? Was it a split second? Lots of military jets of different shapes could it have been one of those? No idea on the slowness. Are you stressed? Disassociation? Weird

JDEE72 · 14/02/2023 20:58

Odd. Worth checking out airfields in the area, and look at www.flightradar24.com/55.03,-5.8/4

Cakeandcoffee93 · 14/02/2023 21:06

Sounds like disassociation op- I would speak to your gp

Cakeandcoffee93 · 14/02/2023 21:07

I honestly would drive there again tomorrow with your phone recording everything

Many years ago my sister and I were on holiday on a caravan site in Wales. The site had an ornamental pond near the entrance. We had been to the village shops and were strolling back to the site, taking a couple of photos. We passed a dried up pond and as we had seen a frog just before remarked it was a long way from water. The path seemed to take much longer and was much more uphill than we remembered when we'd been to the shops a couple of days before. Eventually we saw a woman with a border collie ahead of us and went to ask directions. She was astonished that we could have missed the site and said just to turn back as it was a straight line. We walked back - and eventually came to the caravan site with the ornamental pond. Time glitch??? Years later, I discovered that path had been used in ancient times for driving cattle from Wales to England.

exaltedwombat · 14/02/2023 21:26

How long ago did this happen? Might you be 'remembering' a dream?

cocamoca · 14/02/2023 21:34

Ohyoudodoyou · 13/02/2023 11:01

Google Bold Street time slip!

this is very interesting as every time I used to go into my local blockbuster I used to get very dizzy and felt heavy. the air felt heavy like I was experiencing higher push of gravity. Obviously blockbuster is closed now, I might pop into whatever new shop its become to see if its a weirdo glitch. I used to have to look at the dads on the bottom shelf and sit on the floor and when waiting to pay I'd lean on the counter to support my weight

fine outside,
happened every time

I have heard you can get carbon monoxide poisoning from older cars? I dont know but was told. I have actually had carbon monoxide poisoning but it was in my old house. It was not terribly serious but could have been I was pretty ' out of it' and didnt remember making a phonecall to a friend etc.
I had a very strange thing happen to me once many years ago....something I have since been told was an ' out of body experience'. So I know there are more things between heaven and earth. I also once saw a Stealth plane and it was silent! I would google lots of things like what you describe and find out more. 'Happysalley' on here said some interesting things. Enjoying the thread.

I had this twice. The first time I was pubescent and I think that was partly why. I developed a loud buzzing sensation in my head. I was standing in the front garden of our family home and the air turned thick and warm as if I was looking through swirly water at the view. The view should have been the house but the house was gone and instead, the land was as it was before the row of houses were built in 1956/58. The row of trees across the field that I knew to be mature, was small. Barely a hedgerow and it was all just agricultural land.

I was able to take in every detail. I was totally aware I was looking at the land in times gone by and made a mental note of where all the fence lines were. I looked down as I was interested to see what the ground was like that I was standing on and with that, it all went back to normal.

The second time I was stressed to fuck. I was heading to an interview but I got lost and had no map. This was 1997.

I was driving down a country lane in Herefordshire and the land rover started making a deep thrumming sound in the engine. I slowed down and was aware of the warm day/swirly thing again and the road was gone. I was on a really really rough track that was mostly grass and the surrounding countryside was ancient with no telegraph poles or pylons. I trundled along at a snail pace taking all of this in. I was aware it was another episode like the previous one as I had the same feeling in my head. I reached the end of the track and suddenly I was back on the modern road surface, the engine sound was normal and I was sweating and felt terrible.

I got to the interview but the boss was so weird I didn't want the job.

I have had the start of the same sort of episodes twice since with the head buzzing but they never developed and it hasn't happened for years now.

Glitch in the Matrix!
There was a similar thread a few months ago. Fascinating!

I do hope you are ok and can work out what happened. xx

Sporty2022 · 14/02/2023 21:54

Has anyone had dejavu? You’re in a situation that you’ve never been in before , but you feel something very familiar about it?

Grizzledstrawberry · 14/02/2023 21:57

Such a interesting thread, I fully believe in time slips, I've read/heard one too many stories about them for them not to be real.

Did you have any more replies on your local Facebook post?

I've never had a time slip but I once felt like I had detached from my body and was watching myself from above, I was walking down the street with my DD in a pram, I could clearly see both of us from above, had such a strange feeling for hours afterwards that I just couldn't shake.

Eowyn78 · 14/02/2023 22:13

Ireland is full of such stories. They say it is a place where the fairy folk live. People have spoken of disappearing and hanging out with beautiful people and then returning, but no time has passed, like how Narnia works.

I guess we will never know. As Shakespeare wrote, "There are more things in Heaven and on Earth that are dreamt of in our philosophy."

I would totally love to have such an experience. It might be a bit creepy, but how thrilling would it be to travel in time?

Twilight7777 · 14/02/2023 22:16

I’ve heard stories like that before, it’s like time slips or something. I’ve heard some people see like a village that they’ve never seen before and they never find it again. I know it’s a bit ‘woo’ but I believe it’s like another dimension that you momentarily appear in before slipping back to normal.

sentientpuddle · 14/02/2023 22:17

I really think now all the PP saying 'time slip / glitch' are taking the piss.
