What just happened to me!?

2wombraiders · 13/02/2023 10:43

I’m prepared to be told I’m mentally unwell and need to see a doctor (last resort) but I’m certain I just entered a time glitch.

I was driving into the countryside to collect my daughter from a sleepover and everything felt like it was really slow. I pulled over as I thought it was the car. I looked up and saw a Concorde flying above me. The type that were a common sight in the 90s and before. I’m 100% it was a Concorde and not a similar looking plane as I grew up near air fields and ports and watched them daily.

The car that was driving behind me had vanished. There was no where for it to go as we were on a very narrow country lane and over taking would have been very difficult. Even the birds were moving slower, like they were hovering not gliding.
I got back in the car and after 10 minutes or so everything was back to normal. I arrived late to collect my daughter so I’m not sure what happened with the time as I set off early. I saw the car behind me as I was pulling into the driveway of the house I was going to.

My husband thinks I’m pranking him, my best friend laughed and said I clearly drank too much last night (I didn’t), I’m confident I didn’t faint or black out so I don’t know what the explanation is.
I’ve Googled this specific place to see if there is anything ‘wrong’ but I can’t find any stories and no mention of Concorde sights. Ive seen a few stories of time stopping still for people but I’m sceptical about this sort of stuff. I just can’t shake the creepiness of it! Has this happened to anyone else?

Okay thanks @2wombraiders 😊.

WisteriaLodge · 13/02/2023 18:16

I also think it’s rather arrogant to assume that human beings are the only things inhabiting
a) the universe and b) this planet. There have been numerous sightings and experiences that have been recorded and monitored. How likely is it that ALL of them are either made by liars or stupid people who don’t know reality from imagination?

I think the same, we cannot be the only living beings in the whole Universe, we just can't.

@2wombraiders I am as sure as I can be from your messages above that you are of sound mind. Indeed I would let you drive my grandchild in your car, as you reveal a truly careful attitude towards safety.

Certainly if it would reassure you to get a medical check then go ahead. If it were me and I felt fit and well and had no visual disturbances or numbness or unexpected drowsiness etc, in other words if I felt totally fit and well and like my normal self, I'd probably wait a week and if nothing else bothered me I'd keep this off my medical notes.

Airline Pilots regularly have fleeting sightings of large triangular flying objects and possibly other things. The consensus is that they are advanced Military objects that are normally well camouflaged. But if the Pilot reports them they get a Psychiatric assessment and are off work and in danger of losing their job. This is true, I promise. It's too lengthy to go into all the absolutely logical reasons here as to why these things can appear and seem like extra terrestrial spaceships but are top secret military objects under testing. But you are far from the only person to have had such an experience.

So I would just enjoy the little gift you've had of an inexplicable sighting and strange experience of time slowing - that I suggest might be due to the noise. I believe your experience was real, because of the other sightings which have been reported over the years. It may not be as rare as one in a million, but possibly one in many thousands. Unless you are teasing us!

Cannot believe someone posters will cling to a paranormal explanation over something actually logical and likely.

I am all for someone coming up with a logical explanation in my cases.

But as Sherlock Holmes said

“Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth“

spiderlight · 13/02/2023 19:06

OP, if you want to try to identify the plane and it's not on Flight Radar, look for your local airport/airfield's spotters' clubs on Facebook. I'm a member of several, as my teen DS is a very keen aviation photographer, and the dedicated spotters have all sorts of specialist scanners and apps for military aircraft - if something weird actually flew through your area today, they're the people who will be most likely to know.

Ermahgerd, I LOVE this kind of stuff. I believe you @2wombraiders Grin I have read the first page of this thread, and am going to read the rest soon. Fascinated with the Bold Street timeslip thing. How can ANYONE not be fascinated with all this? Shock No-one can say there is no such thing as time travel, because no-one really knows!

Off to read the rest of the thread now........... Smile

I am a scientist, and I don't think it's possible that there is other life in the universe - I think it's positively probable.
We are but one planet in one solar system in one galaxy. Very unlikely that the conditions which made life possible on Earth didn't also occur elsewhere. But life could mean a single-celled organism.

I do think it's very unlikely that there are other life forms like us, capable of replicating a grounded supersonic airliner popping by for visits over the English countryside* causing parents to run late for pick ups, or abducting American hillbillies & sticking things up their bottoms.

*Big Hitchhiker's Guide fan btw, if my username wasn't a giveaway.

If I am indeed suffering a mental delusion or have epilepsy I promise I will begin a new thread and tell you all when I am diagnosed that you were all fantastic doctors in the making. If I have repeat occurrences that make me look more mental I’ll even section myself willingly. Otherwise it wouldn’t hurt to consider the fact we don’t know absolutely everything about science and our planet to be confident there is no such thing as time lapses or worm holes.

Could be a myriad of other things than mental delusion or epilepsy. On the balance of probabilities it will be something logical like that.

I don't think you time travelled. Sorry 😞

neighboursmustliveon · 14/02/2023 11:56

There is a tik tok poster who reads glitch in the matrix posts just like yours. Some of them are really spooky and involve more than one person experiencing the same thing as them.

Well go and see an actual doctor then. Not just post on MN.

Yes, after exploding!

OP did not see a Concorde.

Concorde didn’t explode. It caught fire

hayley1964 · 14/02/2023 17:42

Google regression in psychology it sounds like that type of thing to me

Yespresh · 14/02/2023 17:45

Not read all the comments but I would suggest derealisation/depersonalisation where you feel you are outside looking in. It is anxiety. I once saw two silver hairy dogs. It was anxiety.

pensionconfusion · 14/02/2023 17:52

Could it have been this? theluxurytravelexpert.com/2022/08/19/supersonic-flights-comeback/amp/

OldMam · 14/02/2023 17:53

It sounds like timeslip. There’s a lane near Berry Pomeroy Castle in Devon where there has been more than one report of this happening. It might be worth researching the area where it happened. Cross roads and gibbets might be clues, or significant historical events.

TheAllButterBiscuit · 14/02/2023 17:53

I am personally not a believer in ghosts, time travel, etc, but this story is very similar to an experience that my grandparents had in the 1960s-1970s. So similar that I feel whilst writing this like I am going to sound like a loony attention seeker… but here goes.

My mothers parents were driving down a country lane when they both experienced a sense of something being ‘wrong’. They said the weather seemed to be different, the air felt odd. They noticed workers in the adjacent fields were using scythes, rather than modern farming equipment. Then they passed a man who had a long cloak on- both recall it flaring out in the breeze from their car as they passed. At that point they felt creeped out and decided to head back, rejoining the main road where they said they went wrong.

That’s the whole story, which is legendary within our family. I remember my grandad, now long dead, showing me a map he had made researching where they had driven and the locations of modern and old roads. They certainly always believed they had ‘seen a ghost’ despite otherwise being no nonsense, farmer types. As I say, I’m a non-believer in general… but your story certainly caught my eye!

Bebethany · 14/02/2023 17:54

I agree 🌷

EnglishPearFreesia · 14/02/2023 17:54

Did you take LSD when you were younger ?

pensionconfusion · 14/02/2023 17:56

Like others have said it could be medical. Seizures do happen when you're awake and you don't necessarily know you've had one. Usually nothing to worry about though. Speak to your GP though.

Atsocta · 14/02/2023 17:56

Would definitely tell your dr
But strange the car behind you disappeared? Not been any big balloons around has there? USA Has made a big thing about flying objects
can’t believe I just said that … hope your ok though

Mommawasafarmgirl · 14/02/2023 18:08

Kennykenkencat · 14/02/2023 13:56

Concorde didn’t explode. It caught fire

There wasn't just a single Concorde built...there were 20 in total.

AmmarettoSours · 14/02/2023 18:11

This has probably been said a million times already but I would encourage you to have your car checked over op. There may be fumes leaking through that could have caused this.

Mist001 · 14/02/2023 18:14

I believe you. I think time slips are real although I've never knowingly experienced one.

Do a Google on 'Bold Street, Liverpool'.

VyeBrator · 14/02/2023 18:14

2wombraiders · 13/02/2023 10:51

Thing is I was fully conscience and felt medically fine. If it was a stroke/seizure wouldn’t I feel something physically happening with my body? I felt like I’d been placed elsewhere and was observing a real event as opposed to it happening to me, if that makes sense. The Concorde thing made me feel like I’d travelled back in time. I drove a different way home as I didn’t fancy a repeat!

I drove a different way home as I didn’t fancy a repeat!

You shouldn't have risked driving home at all, especially with your child in the car! Angry

exiledfromcornwall · 14/02/2023 18:17

My DH has epilepsy, and as well as seizures he experiences episodes in which he is seeing things as if he has stepped back in time. For example, one time he was looking at our modern loo and was seeing it as an old-fashioned type with a high-up tank and an old-fashioned chain-type flush.
