What just happened to me!?

2wombraiders · 13/02/2023 10:43

I’m prepared to be told I’m mentally unwell and need to see a doctor (last resort) but I’m certain I just entered a time glitch.

I was driving into the countryside to collect my daughter from a sleepover and everything felt like it was really slow. I pulled over as I thought it was the car. I looked up and saw a Concorde flying above me. The type that were a common sight in the 90s and before. I’m 100% it was a Concorde and not a similar looking plane as I grew up near air fields and ports and watched them daily.

The car that was driving behind me had vanished. There was no where for it to go as we were on a very narrow country lane and over taking would have been very difficult. Even the birds were moving slower, like they were hovering not gliding.
I got back in the car and after 10 minutes or so everything was back to normal. I arrived late to collect my daughter so I’m not sure what happened with the time as I set off early. I saw the car behind me as I was pulling into the driveway of the house I was going to.

My husband thinks I’m pranking him, my best friend laughed and said I clearly drank too much last night (I didn’t), I’m confident I didn’t faint or black out so I don’t know what the explanation is.
I’ve Googled this specific place to see if there is anything ‘wrong’ but I can’t find any stories and no mention of Concorde sights. Ive seen a few stories of time stopping still for people but I’m sceptical about this sort of stuff. I just can’t shake the creepiness of it! Has this happened to anyone else?

So basically it’s some kind of hallucination.

Kate8990 · 13/02/2023 15:58

I believe in things like this definitely but maybe other people are right in that you should see your GP to rule anything out just incase.

Mirabai · 13/02/2023 15:58

Even if Concordes were still flying, unless you’re near Heathrow (not many country lanes there) you wouldn’t see one.

I grew up hundreds of miles north of Heathrow and it certainly flew over us more than once.

They are called time slips - iv read about them but never experienced one - this may be what happened

Mirabai · 13/02/2023 16:01

I’ll speak to a doctor but I’m confident there’s nothing going on mentally or neurologically.

You don’t know do you, that might have been the first sign.

It’s got to be low enough to see/hear though.

Concorde flew south and west over Wales.

There was a long thread about this sort of thing a few weeks back after another poster had a very similar experience while walking near her home, but I cannot find it for the life of me!

Ellyess · 13/02/2023 16:08

@2wombraiders I am as sure as I can be from your messages above that you are of sound mind. Indeed I would let you drive my grandchild in your car, as you reveal a truly careful attitude towards safety.

Certainly if it would reassure you to get a medical check then go ahead. If it were me and I felt fit and well and had no visual disturbances or numbness or unexpected drowsiness etc, in other words if I felt totally fit and well and like my normal self, I'd probably wait a week and if nothing else bothered me I'd keep this off my medical notes.

Airline Pilots regularly have fleeting sightings of large triangular flying objects and possibly other things. The consensus is that they are advanced Military objects that are normally well camouflaged. But if the Pilot reports them they get a Psychiatric assessment and are off work and in danger of losing their job. This is true, I promise. It's too lengthy to go into all the absolutely logical reasons here as to why these things can appear and seem like extra terrestrial spaceships but are top secret military objects under testing. But you are far from the only person to have had such an experience.

So I would just enjoy the little gift you've had of an inexplicable sighting and strange experience of time slowing - that I suggest might be due to the noise. I believe your experience was real, because of the other sightings which have been reported over the years. It may not be as rare as one in a million, but possibly one in many thousands. Unless you are teasing us!

A few weeks ago I was driving and saw a passenger plane fly really, really low overhead. I definately saw it but my passenger didn't. It was a built up area so we thought it must have quickly gone out of view. I remember wondering why I couldn't hear it when it was so low. I was genguingley concerned it was in trouble.

Went home and there was absolutely nothing anywhere about it. No one knew what I was talking about. I had clearly just completely imagined it but I am absolutely certain it happened.

A few days later my son (who isn't prone to exaggerations or flights of fancy) saw a big police operation on a busy road. He texted me specifically to say it was odd because no one was paying any attention to it eg just walking past, not looking at it, no one filming on their phones etc. Again, nothing online. Even the very large, active and nosey local FB groups had nothing on it. I asked if anyone had seen anything and no one had. It's like it didn't happen.

I guess with the plane, maybe I missaw a bird or something and my brain filled in the gaps. "Imagining" a load of police officers, vans and dogs though?

Millana · 13/02/2023 16:29

I've posted before about ending up somewhere in Venice that just doesn't seem to exist and was a very, very strange experience that we've not been able to ever explain. We've been to Venice a lot and know it fairly well but this has left us puzzled for decades.

Mirabai · 13/02/2023 16:31

This is a ridiculous conversation it stopped flying in 2003!

Yes, after exploding!

OP did not see a Concorde.

2wombraiders · 13/02/2023 16:40

Thank you Ellyess, it’s a shame that people don’t seem to be open minded these days. It’s just automatically there is something wrong with a person for experiencing something unusual. If others have experienced strange things on the same road as me we can’t all have epilepsy beginning at that point of our lives can we!?
As I said I’ll speak to a doctor but unless anything else unusual happens to me I can’t see a doctor taking me seriously. Epilepsy isn’t that easily diagnosed (as it is on here anyway!). It took my friend 2 years for a full diagnosis when she had grand mal seizures.
It’s interesting to read theories and stories of experiences from others, I’ve never been interested in it before or experienced anything paranormal, but now I’m considering there are things that can happen with no explanation at all.

Clovacloud · 13/02/2023 16:40

If it was military plane (and wasn’t a Timeslip Concord! )you might not see it on Flightradar24. I live near 2 military airbases and loads of the planes that go over my house, especially fighter jets, don’t appear on there anymore.

I’m always a little dubious of anyone that has to write:

There’s a type of migraine which can cause these symptoms , a friend had one while driving and saw someone with half their face missing

Cantbebotheredwithausername · 13/02/2023 11:39

I sincerely doubt you experienced any type of actual time travel.

Possible explanations:

  1. The concorde was actually there. It might have been a test flight, possibly the plane was due to participate in some sort of veteran flight show.
  2. The car behind you could've stopped or made an unexpected turn while you were busy looking for the plane.
  3. You might've had a seizure. Certain types of partial seizures can last for a while, allow you to carry on normal activities as long as you can perform them on auto-pilot (such as driving a car, if you're an experienced driver), and involve no loss of consiousness or awareness of the seizure itself.
  4. The noise and vibrations from the airplane can cause "weird" reactions from your nervous system (or have triggered a seizure). I doubt you'd have lost half an hour from a normal nervous system reaction (fight/flight mode or simple loss of attention/concentration) to noise and vibration. A partial complex seizure sounds more likely.

If you experience anything like this or any other neurological symptoms again, I'd advise you to see a doctor. If this is a one-time occurrence, I'd let it go.

Concord definitely wasn't there. There aren't any in flightworthy condition.

That isn't to say that another delta wing aircraft wasn't there, concord was an usual shape for a civilian aircraft but there are quite a few military planes that have a triangular shape that makes people think concord.

Think of all the people convinced they saw a UFO when the stealth bomber was being tested!

OP needs to stop thinking that the aircraft signifies a different time period and focus on everything else, like the weird perception of time, and then it starts to sound less spooky and more like a seizure or something else medical.

You didn't answer my question @2wombraiders This sounds very similar to the thread about the floating souls 🤔.

sentientpuddle · 13/02/2023 13:40

@MattDillonsEyebrows

Love all the arrogance of the 'scientists' on these threads!

I don’t see any arrogance, merely people making logical assumptions/reasoned suggestions.

It is possible that things happen in this world that can't be explained with science. And do you honestly believe that all the people who experience anything in the supernatural is either lying or dumb enough to believe things that aren't there?

Of course things happen that can’t yet be explained with science. There was a time when, for example, cancer couldn’t be explained with science.

it's also possible that… you experienced something that is currently unexplainable.

That may be true, but it doesn’t mean it was ‘supernatural’ phenomenon, simply because no explanation yet exists.

I’m not having a go at you but there is still so much that we don’t currently understand about our – very complex – brains and science doesn’t currently have explanations for, but it amazes me that in this modern age, when faced with something that is currently unexplainable many people will still immediately jump to ‘oh it must be supernatural, and all the ‘scientists’ pooh-poohing our beliefs are closed minded’.
I understand why many people throughout human history held supernatural beliefs, when we didn’t have science.

Science is not the enemy of the wondrous and magical, science is about understanding.

i never said science was the enemy, I love science.

The arrogance to me comes from not those giving good advice based on a condition they have knowledge about, but those not believing the OP when she stated she felt fine and insisting it must be a seizure or she fell asleep.

OP has acknowledged that she probably should get a check up, but if nothing shows up, then does that mean the doctor is mistaken? Or was the OP? Whilst I acknowledge this is an anonymous forum and it’s possible to be tricked, she certainly hasn’t given me any reason to think she’s seeing things in the fact that her replies have been completely rational so far.

I also think it’s rather arrogant to assume that human beings are the only things inhabiting
a) the universe and b) this planet. There have been numerous sightings and experiences that have been recorded and monitored. How likely is it that ALL of them are either made by liars or stupid people who don’t know reality from imagination?

I totally agree with you that keeping an open mind is definitely the thing to do, but that only seems to work one way on this forum and those who don’t want to keep an open mind are incredibly sneery and arrogant about it.

2wombraiders · 13/02/2023 17:41

Sorry I didn’t see, no I have nothing to do with that post. As I said this is the first time anything like this has happened to me which was physical in front of my face and not something in my head like that poster has said. I don’t believe in ghosts or any of that stuff.

Oh wow I’ve had tinnitus for the last few weeks and a non stop headache. I’ve lays had migraines but not this long .

2wombraiders · 13/02/2023 17:48

Well put Mattdillonseyebrows. If I am indeed suffering a mental delusion or have epilepsy I promise I will begin a new thread and tell you all when I am diagnosed that you were all fantastic doctors in the making. If I have repeat occurrences that make me look more mental I’ll even section myself willingly. Otherwise it wouldn’t hurt to consider the fact we don’t know absolutely everything about science and our planet to be confident there is no such thing as time lapses or worm holes. I’ve never believed any of that but after today my mind is well and truly open. I’m even considering putting out a request for the drivers in the car behind me to get in touch to see if they saw or heard anything themselves, it would at least clear up if they saw me asleep in the field or blocked the road.

Since I watched Interstellar I have an open mind on the possibility something happened with time that you were part of.

You can't always take a logical stance because we don't know everything about the universe.
