Anyone had their £200 additional oil/LPG/off grid payment yet?

I had heard they'd be paid from 6th February. Had my £67 electricity payment as usual today from EDF but not the additional £200. We are in a village with no gas supply so should be on the lists that were supposed to have been supplied to the energy companies. Hope we're not going to have to wait until 9th March now as my oil tank is getting low. I only bought 500 litres (instead of 1000) last time as I was hoping the payment would come through before that ran out.

@Elderflower14 as long as you have an account with an energy supplier for your electricity then you should get the payment automatically. There are exceptions for people living in park homes or static house boats - they'll need to apply for their payments later this month.
The cynic in me thinks it won't be that clear cut though and I suspect people will be missed who should get it automatically whilst it will be paid to some people without gas/lpg.

Just had an email from Scottish Power to say payment will arrive in the next couple of days 😊

We are with Shell for electric, no news for our oil bill here, we do have economy 7 but it isn't used for heating.

LibertyLily · 14/02/2023 17:52

We're with Eon and in a very rural area (not a village) with no mains gas so we have oil-fired heating. The previous owners of our house had a prepayment meter fitted prior to them being repossessed and we've not got round to having it changed yet, so I'm assuming we'll get a voucher. Our electricity voucher for Feb arrived today but not heard anything regarding the off grid payment as yet.....

I'm holding fire with ordering oil till it arrives and the tank gauge is getting perilously low so hoping it comes soon!

AlwaysLatte · 14/02/2023 17:57

I didn't know about this, I'll check to see if we received anything.

Bemyclementine · 14/02/2023 19:13

@LibertyLily no mains gas here either, also oil c/h. I was expecting the payment to go into my bank but it's been credited to my eon account.

I'm also with Shell for electricity, was transfered when our old supplier went bust.
Still can't see the £200 credit on my account for being off grid/no gas supply and using oil for heating.
Have you had yours yet?

Happycroc · 18/02/2023 05:56

Scottish power sent £200 to our billing account yesterday. Hopefully everyone receives theirs soon.

Maraudingmarauders · 18/02/2023 06:01

Ours arrived about two days ago into our Octopus electricity account. We are oil, no gas mains in the village. We had no notice or communication about it, I just checked my account and it was £200 higher and said government alternative fuel payment' next to it.

Netaporter · 18/02/2023 06:11

Eon next customer here. Oil user. No payment has been received. I wonder if that is because in my postcode some houses can get gas?

Bumpinthenight · 18/02/2023 06:15

Ovo sent us an email last week saying payment was coming. It was put in my bank yesterday.

My parents had theirs a couple of days ago. I can't remember who they are with so that's not much help to anybody!

LovedFedAndNoonesDead · 18/02/2023 07:26

According to the information released by BEIS it’s supposedly assessed using energy supplier lists of properties who don’t have a registered gas meter along with postcodes that are ‘off gas’. They also say that assessment will be made using 2021 census information about the heating type listed for each property that ticks the first 2 boxes - but this apparently is too time consuming so, in some areas, energy companies are being told to pay out of properties tick the first 2 boxes. They also have to make all payments by the end of February according to the paper released by the BEIS as they need to then send details to the government of all properties they’ve been ‘unable to contact’ or who don’t claim/receive the payment.

CeriB82 · 18/02/2023 07:30

I got mine on Tuesday morning.

LegodOut · 18/02/2023 07:33

Just had ours, so it sounds like the payments are starting to be processed - hang in there!

jenn88 · 18/02/2023 07:38

@Netaporter
We are Eon, half our street has mains gas. We have oil. I spoke to Eon and they said if payment isnt automatically received gov.uk will be opening up applications from 27th Feb.

LovedFedAndNoonesDead · 18/02/2023 07:46

Should have said, we tick first 2 boxes - no gas on entire estate and therefore no gas meters; house is fitted with 3 ancient night storage heaters that don’t work and we use a mix of oil filled electric radiators and, when weather was at its worst, MiL’s calor gas heater.

Netaporter · 18/02/2023 07:48

@jenn88 thank you!

Wafflefudge · 18/02/2023 07:51

A pp maybe on a different thread I’m on a couple of these posted a link where EDF had said people who pay by Dd will receive money between 20-28th of Feb in their accounts.

bigbluebus · 18/02/2023 09:40

@Badbudgeter Thanks for that info. I hadn't seen that.

I've had mine from Eon this week and it has put me in credit to the tune of £900.
My electric bill is only ever £100 per month and I pay them £110 per month.

I shall have to ask for a refund from them to pay for my oil, any one else asked for a refund due to too much credit?

Caterina99 · 18/02/2023 10:45

Scottish power paid into my account yesterday.

cptartapp · 18/02/2023 12:53

Nothing from Eon yet here.
