I used to think there was 100 pennies squashed up into a pound.

So it is!! Must have been 20 years since I watched it. So is he an alien then??

After I had written that I wondered myself and did a quick search - it's been argued that he could be either an alien or an angel, but no one who can say for sure (I guess just Rowan Atkinson or Richard Curtis?) has confirmed or denied either way.

That's what I gleamed from a quick 2 minute google happy to be corrected if anyone knows better!

I thought the cash out of a cash machine was free money and never understood why my mum would only get £20 😂😂

My husband used to do that trick where you produce money from behind a child's ear.
One day when my middle one was a toddler she asked for something and I said I didn't have any money for it. At which point she pulled her hair back from her ear and offered it too me and said 'pennies here' 😳🥰

I always thought that when you were pregnant that you just put on the exact weight of the baby i.e. 7lbs and once it was born your body just sprung back to its old self.

My mam had my sis when I was 2 1/2 so apparently she spent that 9 months running around after me and hence didn't put on any extra weight which to this day she still slags me about. My reply now that I know better is always "well you should be grateful that you didn't need to worry about losing a stone or two after having sis".

I thought cats literally had 9 lives, as in if it was killed by a car, it would come back to life...

I was in my 20s before the penny dropped haha

I used to think that I was being watched by angels all the time.

I remember being embarrassed having a bath thinking I was being watched.

I don't know if this is relevant but as a child when I thought of days of the week I saw them as colours.
Monday - blue
Tues - pink
Wed - yellow
Thurs - purple
Friday - brown
Saturday - green
Sunday - orange
As an adult when I think of a day or if someone says I'll see you on x-day I see the colour.
That's weird isn't it, anyone else do this, I've only ever told one person and it freaked them out 😁

Yes. Still do it now only my colours are different to yours. Sunday and Monday red. Tuesday light blue. Wednesday green. Thursday navy blue and Saturday brown. I also used to think you could get pregnant from a toilet seat and that by the time came for me to have periods someone would’ve thought of a cure for them. 😶

Tidsleytiddy · 10/02/2023 12:33

Friday is yellow

PauliString · 10/02/2023 13:10

Oh god, that's spooky, TidsleyTiddy. I almost agree with your list.
Sunday silver
Monday red
Tuesday skyblue and/or primrose yellow
Wednesday light green
Thursday blue
Friday dark green
Saturday brown.

Tidsleytiddy · 10/02/2023 13:13

How odd! I’ve never found anyone else who thinks like this!!

PauliString · 10/02/2023 13:20

Do you do it for other words, or numbers? I found it influenced my choice of names for the children (I think it largely goes with the vowel sounds).

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/02/2023 14:01

That people were buried in their actual grave stones. I always used to wonder how do they fit in there. I figured they must chop them up and squash them. My God I was a creepy kid. 😂.

That you had to have sex right through pregnancy for the baby to develope.

Nurses were female. Doctors were male.

That your Birthday changed every year.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/02/2023 14:03

Thar elephants had a litter of babies rather than just one. Can you imagine a litter of baby elephants 😍😍😍😍

Possibly but definitely with days of the week.
