Has come out to say her long term relationship is over and it very much looks like he had a wandering eye and she found out.

She posted a video on Instagram and has done an interview to say once the trust is gone it has to be over.

I really like her, I think she's smart and funny and do feel sorry for her. She has dealt with it really well though. It's easy to say LTB but when it comes down to it that can be hard to do, especially when you've been together a long time.

Really hoping she finds happiness in the future!

I loved her early morning show on Radio 2. Actually shed a tear when she announced she was leaving. She had a fabulous ability to make you feel like she was chatting with a small group of friends (in fairness there probably weren’t an enormous amount of us listening in at 4am each morning) . She clearly doted on Ben the bastard. More fool him though. Hopefully his standard of living will take a huge nosedive.

Awww, how sad. Sad I absolutely love Vanessa Feltz too. Ballsy, attractive, down-to-earth, and funny. And I almost always agree with her point of view. Shame she couldn't have had the slot that the ghastly Jeremy Kyle show left, for her own 'Trisha' type show. (In fact, Vanessa did have something similar many years ago, maybe even late 1990s.) I thought she and Ben were fab together, and how sad it is that it has ended.

I think she is great and admire her for not putting up with a cheater. So many women do.

Oh no. I love VF. I've not met her but her public persona is really fun and intelligent and warm. It always seemed that Ben was punching above his weight slightly but I always assumed maybe he had a charisma or something that maybe just doesn't come across as well as hers does.

I like Vanessa a lot. She seems Warm Witty and Wise and knows her worth
Definitely his loss, and I don't think a 10 year age gap excuses his behaviour He's an idiot

What a shame. I was neither here nor there with Vanessa but I listened to her on Elizabeth Day's How To Fail podcast (where guests talk about their three biggest failures and how it's shaped them) and one of Vanessa's was her marriage. Oh my god, she was so honest and open. One of the best episodes I've listened to. She explained how she literally begged her husband to stay. Literally got on the floor and begged him. She said she was so desperate and upset. It was also during the phone hacking era so there is stuff on that too. You have to listen to it. Really interesting. She also talks about her Vanessa show and the 'fake' guests.

It's also sad because at the end she spoke about her 'new' partner (Ben, I think his name is. The Phats and Smalls guy) and how happy she was with him. Hope she is ok x

I used to read her columns back in the day when women’s magazines were good, and I remember reading about her ‘giving in’ to her husband over the design of a new bathroom (despite her and her daughters wanting something entirely different). It didn’t sit well with me and I wasn’t surprised when they split up.

She's such an engaging personality.He really had been welcomed into the heart of her family so I think he'll be the ultimate loser. Best of luck to her, our society is so poor at recognising the strength of women like Vanessa.Imagine her strength as a political interviewer.

Vanessa Feltz is an amazing, intelligent, driven, beautiful, real woman. Such a shame her skanky boyfriend has done this to her.

Ben really has been a bastard isn’t he. He must know how much Vanessa was affected by her first husband cheating on her and now he’s done the same thing. Also her grandchildren call him grandad, can’t see them ever seeing him again so they will be hurt by this too.

Vanessa was always bigging him up on every opportunity she must be heartbroken, yes I like her, met her years ago she was opening Thornton choc shop in Cambridge, very down to earth , she did the right thing though, hope she finds happiness

Love her.. agree she wears her heart on her sleeve. She did an interview years back and asked if she had any regrets... thinking it would have been something she had said:done in her professional life, VF said she regretted only having two children because she had a son and daughter it was just considered by everyone she was done. It stayed with me and I went on to have a third and I often wonder if I would have done if it wasn't for that comment! Our littlest DD is an absolute joy and I did think of middle naming her Vanessa! ( I do think she is on mumsnet so I hope she reads these comments) x

I’ve always loved Vanessa. Echoing pp, I think she is warm, intelligent, very funny and self decreapating. Also an awesome broadcaster and writer. I do think she is also vulnerable. I rembember her smarmy first husband doing the dirty in her. She has been unfairly lambasted by the press over the years - not surprisingly as she is female, overweight at times and intelligent, not a combo respected by our appalling media. Agree he was punching above his weight and I hope she reads this and realises how much she is held in esteem (mostly!) by other women.

Saddened to read she is going through this.

She strikes me as a lovely, warm and caring woman, erudite and quick witted too. I have always enjoyed anything she is on or presenting.

He, on the other hand, presented as a sleazy hanger on.

I do hope she moves on from this quickly. She is worth a hundred of that one-hit wonder.

Im so sorry to hear that she has been hurt like this. I was on her Anglia TV chat show back in 1997. The show was about being child free by choice. I wasnt one of the fake guests. She came across as professional and friendly.

@DatasCat I got the same vibe from Rosie Greens columns that she used to write for Red every month. I wasnt surprised when she and "Alpha Male" split up either.

What a shame. She hasn't always had it easy.

I fully recommend the episode of the "how to fail" podcast that has VF on. She talks about the end of her marriage very openly.

I always thought 'what a lucky bloke' whenever I saw articles on Vanessa and Ben. She is intelligent, fun and doesn't take herself too seriously. He has lived off that one bloody song for the last twenty odd years!! What an absolute tool! Hope that getting his kicks elsewhere will be worth losing someone who seemed so decent- though I very much doubt it.
