Jack Monroe flounced from Twitter - Again

This time it looks like she was caught out in regard to addiction faking.

She posted a photo claiming they were of her recovery chip thingies and it was noted that 1 of them was for Cocaine Anonymous and another was for Narcotics anonymous.

She'd denied cocaine use earlier.

Early January she was in the Guardian saying she'd blown to s of donated money on Drink, tramadol and Cotswolds sideboards.
Seems the oddities of her stories are catching up with her.

Or a devious chancer that's raking in as much as 30k a month of other people's money for doing nothing?

Honestly I think the fact that you think obtaining money by deception is ok says more about you than anyone else posting on here.

That list of medication is bollocks, if she has RA as she claims to. I have RA and I inject myself weekly with an immunosuppressant drug which causes nasty side effects. I have to take high strength prescribed folic acid daily (apart from on injection day) to help with the side effects. Plus I have a steroid injection a few times a year and take codeine daily for the pain. Not everyone with RA will inject drugs but pretty much everyone with a formal diagnosis will be on some sort of pretty hard hitting meds - I'm sure if Jack was she'd be very vocal about the side effects and the amount of medication involved, not to mention being immunosuppressed. Yet she's never mentioned it.

Also, if you were poverty stricken why the fuck would you spend all that money on electricity to boil down soap to make shower gel rather than a) just use the soap or b) buy some shower gel for 35p from Aldi?

Beware of most vociferous defenders of the indefensible, they are often the subject or the enabler and not an unbiased anonymous account.

I sympathise with you. My neighbour is on the same for her RA and it's not pleasant.

I'm an outlier, I've had JCA since childhood and quite severe damage to all my joints but don't take any drugs for it, apart from the occasional diclofenac. Partly by choice, partly because, although my inflammation isn't active, the damage is already done and I'm able to tolerate the pain reasonably well.

That said, her description doesn't tally with the severity of her symptoms so I agree with you. And sorry you have to put up with the hardcore meds.

I've read somewhere that she was angling to get on a TV show called SuperVet at the time. I don't know the details or if it's true, so pinch of salt with that, but she was dragging out it's suffering to make monetised videos so it wouldn't shock me if it were true.

Jack's Patreon promises lots of rewards (a ludicrous amount of physical rewards, tbh, for the amount of subscribers she has. I think she made a silly mistake initially by over-promising and made it incredibly difficult for herself to ever deliver). I don't think she says it's for her emotional labour or just for being her - she gives the expectations of photos, postcards, recipes, exclusive content.

If you fail to deliver the rewards you say you will, you should refund the people who've paid you, and stop your Patreon until such time as you can deliver.

Yes, if people aren't happy with the service or lack of service they should unsubscribe, but it's unethical to take money and not deliver.

I remain amazed that she has any supporters . Even the most loyal ones must see via her own words that she is a complete scammer .
Why she feels so entitled is beyond me . Perhaps she should just come off twitter and seek some actual employment like the majority of people .
I suspect she would have a much happier life if she managed to do this .

You don’t have to stalk jack munroe to see that she is a fraud. It’s obvious from the public things she says. “I’m so poor I am starving and can’t afford electricity” one minute and the next minute “here’s My Burberry scarf/original artwork/expensive house, etc. its disgusting to pretend to be a poor single mum for money and public approval

Her poor poor son, the less he is exposed to her various addictions the better. The amount of his private information she has overshared on twitter is very, very uncomfortable to read. If she were really were working class that kid would have been more protected.

She seems quite troubled and I just wish she would quit Twitter.

I have no idea how she’s managed to convince so many people she’s a force for good and that she actively helps people. She promises a lot and rarely follows through or delivers. Every interview seems to focus on her and a brief period of self imposed financial difficulty a decade ago. I don’t doubt for one moment that her family would have helped her through it if they knew. Her £20 shops encourage a belief that it should be possible to live like that when it isn’t.

Her patreon offered a return and it would appear she hasn’t fulfilled what she offered. She hasn’t been transparent about some of her charity donations. Her pay pal, tip jar and hunger hurts blogs will have likely led to donations from some who could ill afford it She hasn’t responded to these allegations even though she appears to patrol and rampage her way across twitter shouting about everything else and encouraging pile ons from her supporters.

I don’t doubt that she has mental health issues and there are a few people on twitter who seem to bang on about her relentlessly. But a lot of people seem to be raising very valid concerns which she’ll need to address to retain her platform.

I hope that she is reflecting and has support around her. However, I fear she will just be angry and return with a classic DARVO response.

I wrote the above on a thread last September. I see she went down the DARVO route then and very little else has changed.
I think the Awfully Molly page was keeping her in check to some extent. Since she deactivated a couple of weeks ago Monroe seems to have been off the scale on twitter.

I hadn't realised Molly had gone. She was very calm and measured about it all. What a shame. Maybe jack felt empowered by her leaving. But someone who lies as frequently and lavishly and Jack is always going to come unstuck eventually

On twitter people have posted their small claims court documents against her.

Good. I mean that's civil action not criminal but at least it's a start.

I can't believe there's anyone left still defending her, once you clock the constant lies and contradictions you can't unsee them.
