Power ballads - which do you like and dislike

Like: We've Got Tonight by Bob Seger
All I Have by Beth Nielsen Chapman
I Want To Know What Love Is by Foreigner

Dislike: I Don't Want To Miss A Thing by Aerosmith
Wind Of Change by Scorpions

I'm not a big fan of this musical genre, I admit. That's probably why my list is so small. I especially think it's weird hearing rock and metal bands doing them. It's like Foster and Allen singing Highway To Hell.

I recently discovered that Total Eclipse of the Heart is about vampires, and it blew my mind.

DS went through a phase of being obsessed with My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion when he was about 4 (he’s autistic and some strange tastes). I had to listen to it so many times I wanted to rip my own ears off 😬😬

am currently in a v dodge power ballad phase - particular favourites are -
John Farnham - the voice
toto - Africa (I woke dh up singing it in my sleep apparently 😬😬)
also love poison - Alice cooper but not sure if that qualifies?!

The vampire explanation makes perfect sense now I think about it; the bloke singing the “turn around bright eyes” is the vampire, and Bonnie is the fair maiden who has fallen in love with him and is afraid, but by the end of the song has decided to commit and become an immortal creature of the night. The zombie version works too though…
