Unfortunately the British electorate will forget all this come the next election and vote for the Tories again. It's as if they enjoy a kicking and come back for more, the term Stockholm syndrome comes to mind.

I think this too. Said it before and no one agrees but whenever I mention a Tory sleazegate I get 'better than that Keir Starmer/Labour/the 70s/etc'

eveoha · 29/01/2023 15:13

Odd way for someone who wanted a role in government in order to presumably/allegedly enable the betterment of the populace to behave - ie to deliberately deprive the Revenue of huge amounts of taxes due - or am I being cynical 🤨

Blossomtoes · 29/01/2023 12:53

To be honest, they really couldn’t be worse. It’s only ever Tory governments that get embroiled in sleaze.

Really?

What about Jared O'Mara, Keith Vaz, Fiona Onasanya, Claudia Webb, David Blunkett and Peter Mandelson?

What about Bernie Ecclestons million? Cash for honours (2006)?

Thats just the ones I remember without having to google.

Both sides are just different cheeks of the same arsehole.

Yes really. Those are a few outliers. The last time there was institutional sleaze on this scale was in the dying days of Major’s government.

jgw1 · 29/01/2023 16:31

For me at least Sunak knows what a woman is.

Also I couldn't vote for a party that was once led by Jeremy Corbyn.

Why isn't anyone outraged by Keir having a beer?

Oh here we go. Bland throw away statements

The are 6 out 21 women in Sunak's cabinet.
There are 15 out of 31 in the shadow cabinet.

Do me a favour. Boris Johnson is possibly the worst PM ever. A lying, self-serving aberration.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/01/2023 16:45

Its fascinating to see that the Tory bots have entirely run out of positive things to say in support of their masters.

Anyone would be better than this shower of cuntheads.

Most of the 5yos I work with can work out that if your in charge of anything you don't lie, lie and lie some more.

You forgot Keir's donkey field, at least Zahawi’s horses had heated stables.

LexMitior · 29/01/2023 17:39

How weak Sunak looks. Why did he not sack This guy last week.

He's behind Starmer. The jokes write themselves.

Jux · 29/01/2023 18:01

Just goes to show that you don't have be white to be a RWM

BashirWithTheGoodBeard · 29/01/2023 18:13

Blossomtoes · 29/01/2023 14:39

You think? I have absolutely no idea why you think this. Even Tory HQ is pretty well resigned to going into opposition at the next election.

Yes, and in fact that's part of the reason why this mess has happened.

Sunak is a weak leader and wasn't able to force Zahawi out quicker once this story got out. A big part of the reason he's weak is because everyone knows he's only got a short time in this job before failing hard at the GE, if he even holds on that long. The parliamentary party know huge numbers of them are going to be out on their arses soon enough so that reduces the incentive to take any difficult decisions or demand scrutiny.

QueueEtwo · 29/01/2023 18:14

He's a crook & I'm glad he's gone!
He threatened journalists who were breaking the story with legal action, a despicable bully!

Hopefully Dominic Raab will be next, 24 complaints of bullying so far!
