Are you planning for Easter already?

All of my old time friends have got it all sorted pretty much. One is hosting this year and the previous year another friend did it

They've hired Peter Rabbit to come and greet the children, and got their personalised Easter bags at the ready. Also personalised Easter Box with DC name on them

I got a text this morning to say Little Lords and Ladies have released their Easter 2023 pjs and to order now or they'll all get taken (they only do so many and then stop)

Then it'll be a roast for the adults with picky bits for the children.

One of my friends kindly bought me one last year as I'd run out of time Blush so my DS has one but I'll need one for DD now

Do most people plan this far ahead? I'm just trying to work it out as I'm a hypocrite really. I've been known to buy Christmas bits in January!

Honestly what is there to plan? I will buy some Easter eggs and that is all.

I honestly don't think you would get spoilt child by giving them gifts for Xmas, Easter and bday.

The other 361 days of the year are far more important as well as teaching them about Money.

We decorate, chicks, rabbits, pastels.....we used to do crafts.... we have a mini Easter tree. I love marking the change on season.

DC get Easter eggs/ a little gift like clothes.

Pajamas are hardly plastic tat land fill though are they?

I'm sure people are buying new season appropriate PJ's??

A pair of new pj may not be hugely exciting for the child? It's not a huge giant Easter bunny 🐰 teddy that's hard to fit through the front door.

I've booked a 3 night break near the in-laws for the weekend after Easter. It's year end so I will too busy to take any other leave. I will buy chocolates from Aldi and a biggish egg each for the kids a week or so beforehand. The evening of Easter Saturday (Easter Eve?) I will drink some wine then come up with some clues for the egg hunt which will be hidden around the house, chocolate treats at every clue. This is enough to grant me best mum ever status without having to buy PJs, decorate a tree, put a egg themed wreath on the door, or anything else. I also ensure we have the ingredients for shredded wheat mini egg nests. I am really lazy and hate crafts though.

But are they necessary? I never understand the Christmas pyjama craze as I find it weird buy a pair decorated with Christmas pictures for a child who will wear it for a month and then outgrows it before the next year Christmas comes along.

And if it's a normal pair, it most likely still fits at Easter.

And a normal pair of PJ is hardly anything exciting for a child.

I use to cheat and get clues for the Easter egg hunt from googling or buying from Amazon!
