Such as "Give my head a wobble" and "Holibobs", neither of which I have ever heard IRL.

Half of the suggestions on the baby name threads. Nobody is calling their kids these ridiculous things.

I did enjoy the Luckey-Buoy thread, though.

'It doesn't sit right with me'

'I didn't want to read and run'

I’m personally a fan of when people are “shaking and crying”.

I've seen it more often as shaking and sobbing. I guess they think the alliteration adds to the dramatic effect.

DD DH DS etc all common parlance when MN was first cranked up in prehistoric tymes, adopted by early users and became embedded quite quickly.

I am pretty sure I know who coined off you fuck cunty chops - the name is on the tip of my tongue. Gah.

Naice ham is a old joke from a shopping list found by Cod in Salisbury 15-20 odd years ago. Blah blah nice ham. Made into naice a la Jilly Cooper.

I don't have any hated phrases, peace out, people.

Peace out is another one.

My work here is done.

TightFistedWozerk · 12/01/2023 00:11

It was Derek. If you know, you know.

B1rds · 12/01/2023 00:13

You can swear here you know! Why not let people choose how they want to express themselves and stop being a super weird control freak?

TheShellBeach · 12/01/2023 00:19

"You again!"
(said to me frequently)

Boak or 'gives me the boak'. Horrible!

Everydaywheniwakeup · 12/01/2023 00:21

I was never a fan of 'norks' but that is not used so much now.
A few years ago "echo chamber" was hugely over used and gave me the rage because it was usually repeated by multiple posters in the same thread.
"More red flags than a Communist parade. 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩. Run 🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃"

BirchOak · 12/01/2023 00:22

'You lost me when...'

So patronising. Ugh.

TheShellBeach · 12/01/2023 00:22

The hills are that way.

When someone asks for advice because their 10 year old won’t eat carrots and they get “this sounds a lot like autism. Have you ever considered asking for an assessment?”

Boak or 'gives me the boak'. Horrible!

This isn’t a Mumsnet expression, it’s a very commonly used Scottish word

TheShellBeach · 12/01/2023 00:37

Did you mean to be so rude?

OP posts:
TheShellBeach · 12/01/2023 00:37

"No" is a complete sentence.

OP posts:
MidnightMeltdown · 12/01/2023 00:43

'Gosh'

Saying it is bad enough, but some people actually type this out at the start of sentence 😂😂

Blueberrycreampie · 12/01/2023 00:44

@Aloezebra yes it is a Scottish expression but I still see it used most often on Mumsnet. I am Scottish.

ninetieseyebrows · 12/01/2023 00:51

Are you always so ......?

Pearl clutching

parsniiips · 12/01/2023 00:52

When people put a very dramatic 'please' in their reply to the OP.

Eg

The OP wants to start weaning before six months and is asking for ideas

'Please don't start weaning early it's dangerous because..........' (especially when they don't know what medical advice the op might have received)

Fuck. Off. It doesn't affect you in any way there's no need to make the reply to dramatic and personal.

ninetieseyebrows · 12/01/2023 00:52

Is that you <insert relevant name> ?
