I'll have sausage roll, chips and beans please, with butterscotch tart for pudding.

And seconds of cracknell and custard.

Sausages, chips and gravy. OR ravioli and chips. Then either tarmac or choc shortbread with mint custard.

bluechameleon · 09/01/2023 13:12

My standard order in Y8ish was 2 plain bread rolls, 2 jam doughnuts and 2 of those brightly coloured drinks that came in plastic cups. You were meant to use a straw but all the cool kids turned them upside and bit a hole in the bottom so I did too.

TokyoSushi · 09/01/2023 13:13

Sausage roll, chips and beans. Jam doughnut and a blue bubblegum calypso drink please. Hole bitten out of the bottom corner of the carton. NEVER use the straw in the tip unless you're a massive nerd! Grin

louderthan · 09/01/2023 13:17

Square pizza and chips followed by toothpaste cake

louderthan · 09/01/2023 13:17

Please!

WetBandits · 09/01/2023 13:19

Fish fingers, chips and beans, please Miss!

With ‘school cake’ for pudding, the kind with runny icing and sprinkles.

Augustone · 09/01/2023 13:21

Chips, grated cheese on top and a couple of sachets of salad cream for my side dip.

Chocolate concrete for afters please 😀

LadyKenya · 09/01/2023 13:21

Chicken pie, boiled spuds, and veg please. Could I have the end bit of the chocolate sponge, with custard? Ta.

Augustone · 09/01/2023 13:23

I may or may not have made this to revisit the glory days....

My school used to do a sort of quiche Lorraine which was objectively appalling (cardboard pastry plus weird eggy, cheese layer, far too salty and so hot it would take the roof of your mouth off) but actually possibly the best thing I have ever eaten. So I'll have that plus jelly and some ice cream in a paper roll.

Ah this may be the cheese flan, my DD is obsessed with it, it is most definitely her favourite school dinner

My order at secondary was cheesy mash and pizza. The cheesy mash was epic, must have had a good half centimetre thick layer or bright orange cheese on the top.

Spidey66 · 09/01/2023 13:26

Spam fritter, chips and beans, with some pink sponge and pink custard for afters.

PS I had school lunches in the 70s.......

NothingHoldingMeBack · 09/01/2023 13:27

Ohhhhh it's got to be a school dinner roast with bulletproof peas! ha followed by school dinner chocolate cake and chocolate custard!

Seaweedandsalt · 09/01/2023 13:28

Used to have a delicious sausage and onion roll and chips. Chocolate cracknell and custard.

shewolfsout · 09/01/2023 13:28

Nuggets, chips and spaghetti hoops, please

Cornflake cake but only if it has the jam layer, otherwise I'll have the gypsy tart

And a blackcurrant Kwenchy Kup, thanks miss

Flameshame · 09/01/2023 13:28

3 turkey drumsticks and not much else. Every day

shewolfsout · 09/01/2023 13:29

If at secondary school then a toasted cheese sandwich, chips and a bottle of Diet Coke please miss

StarInTheHeavens · 09/01/2023 13:29

Ahhh those were the days, over-boiled cabbage, liver and onions on a real china plate. I will never ever forget the chocolate custard with a skin like leather...😍If you were first in the queue you could have the whole skin from the top of a large vat, heaven.. We had real food and real cooks in the school kitchens of the 70s,

HippyChickMama · 09/01/2023 13:30

Cheese and potato pie, chips and beans (the carbs! But I was veggie at primary school which was practically unheard of back then and I had the same every day because that was all they had). Chocolate concrete and mint custard for pudding or school cake with pink custard please

StarInTheHeavens · 09/01/2023 13:31

What is 'Gypsy tart'?

Sausage roll at break, chips and an apple turnover for lunch.
My god I was so skinny for years with this as my daily diet 😂

Dancingtumbleweed · 09/01/2023 13:36

I loved the ploughmans salad. But I think they only made two and it was a rare I managed to get one, usually a teacher would beat me to it.
