How utterly gauche this thread is! Whilst we are lucky enough to have /own many of the things listed. It’s in such bad taste to boast, given the current economic climate.

🙄 there will always be someone who's got to moan. No one is boasting. The thread asked for things that make people's lives nicer and feel a little bit more luxurious. While some of the replies are, no one said they had to be expensive either.

lollipoprainbow · 08/01/2023 00:53

@GlassOnions yours was quite luxurious to be fair.

You're missing the point. 🤦‍♀️

Lindt chocolate.

Gronkle · 08/01/2023 01:36

The usual Kindle, AirPods, wireless speaker etc.

You've inspired me to organise my office; stepdd moved out and I made her bedroom my office and it's a mess with my sitting in the corner. I've decided I want to make it beautiful, I mean, I spend hours in their every week, I need to be happier when I'm there. Ooo I'm looking forward to it now.

@watchfulwishes can you give me a list of your favorite family board games? I’d love to create this tradition in my family x

Oblomov22 · 08/01/2023 07:17

@MywobblyBottom
I don't think it's gauche. I get fed up with that comment, no one's allowed anything because of the current financial situation. Bog off. Many things listed are free. Good friends, the smell of freshly cut grass, are free. Cost nothing.

CassandraColbyColshaw · 08/01/2023 07:37

Crochet

Books, audible
Comfy bed(of my own) no man 😁

@MywobblyBottom this thread is obviously not for you. Please don't upset yourself by reading it.
I cannot see any harm in people expressing things that they like or that give them comfort. Where would we be in this world if we were not able to talk about things that we enjoy and that we are grateful for.

GoAgainstNicki · 08/01/2023 08:03

My hot water bottle. I sleep with one every night even during the summer. I’ve been doing it for about 7 years now.

My previous water bottle had a slight hole it in so I had to throw it away as it was leaking. It took about 5 days for my replacement one to arrive. I was devastated😂 didn’t know what to do with myself and could barely sleep!

Lol what a party pooper. You can’t say you enjoy going outside and breathing in fresh air in case someone doesn’t go outside because they can’t afford warm clothes.
Get a grip

Gingerwarthog · 08/01/2023 08:16

Woke up this morning to my two fluffy cats curled into me - think they were scared of the heavy rain. They are definitely my creature comforts (although they are refusing to move now).

MadameSzyszkoBohusz · 08/01/2023 08:35

I have been wearing silk pyjamas to sleep in for years now. They are expensive but the comfiest thing. Warm when it's cold and cool when it's hot.

However they don't last long and all my current pairs are falling apart. Had been hoping for a sale bargain but no luck so far.

TwoMagnificentLabradors · 08/01/2023 08:38

One more from me! This morning DH got the old grandfather clock we inherited from FIL working again. I love the hypnotic tick-tock, and how it is glorious but belligerent like late FIL and will probably go on strike (ha!) again soon.

Also, it’s bacon sandwiches for breakfast!

imayhavelostmymarbles · 08/01/2023 08:51

My wool duvet
The borrowbox library app
My lovely rescue dog
Cup of coffee in bed in the morning (brought by DH)
