What makes you more comfortable and feel a bit more 'luxurious'

Hollyhocksandtulips · 07/01/2023 17:51

Ooh I love these. I have one pair of sweaty Betty trousers that make me smile - only yoga type and don't do anything for me but they feel lovely.
That and faith in nature hand wash
I want new socks and joggers now though for warmth!

Shinyandnew1 · 07/01/2023 17:52

This is a fab thread to read!

I’d go for…
hot baths
Nesti Dante fig and almond soap
Sanctuary hand cream
my cat
heated car seats
heated throw for the lounge

2reefsin30knots · 07/01/2023 17:53

Having my own room at home which is just mine and only has my (pretty) things in it.
Heated blanket.
Super-King bed with my own duvet in a really soft cover.

jackstini · 07/01/2023 17:57

Fur lined jeans

Brushed cotton sheets in winter, very high thread count in summer

Lovely throws on the sofa

Bluetooth speakers in bathroom mirror

Gorgeous scented candles

Heated steering wheel in car
(Really miss my convertible, but it's just not practical currently)

I used to say heated floor, but I dare not turn it on now!

Spa day/massage

Furry snow boots

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 07/01/2023 17:57

My own bedroom
iPad and iPhone
good cookware
nice shower gel
my special coffee cup to start the day off.

Scarecrowrowboat · 07/01/2023 18:03

Coffee.
A superking duvet on a double bed.

PollyEsther · 07/01/2023 18:07

A decent sized mug of tea, not a pathetic cup.
My labradoodle. I adore her.
New pillows
Cushions
Having my own, large-ish, office that I have filled with things that bring me joy.
Books - though I haven't read one in over a year. I haven't had time or headspace and it's really bothering me. I will get there once I've finished my PGCE in the summer (I'm not planning to go straight into an ECT position in September).
Financial security. The knowledge that I can buy the food or clothes we need, or fill the (not remotely fancy) car with diesel whenever I need to, without worrying about it.
Candles
Chocolate, particularly galaxy.
A local support network - not family, they're all far away or disinterested - which allows us the peace of mind of knowing that someone could collect/look after a child for us in an emergency.
A home that has enough space for our relatively large family.
A supportive and loving husband, who facilitates and seems to enjoy my happiness.
Watching my daughter ride a pony: she is absolutley in her element up there.

skippy67 · 07/01/2023 18:14

My Ugg slippers. They were a Christmas present from DS, and I love them.
Nicely scented candles.
My hue controlled lighting so I never have to walk into a dark room.
Shutters on the windows. I love the cosy feel they bring at this time of year.

Wool blend socks. Time was when I used to feel a little bit down every day specifically when I was putting my socks on. I noticed this sad emotion was always at the same moment every day. So I decided to invest in better quality socks, and the pleasant texture is now a daily joy to me.

I love good socks. I have a drawer full of socks for every occasion, mostly chunky wool.

JoonT · 07/01/2023 17:27

My cockapoo. Always happy, always pleased to see me, delighted by the simplest of things...a total joy.

My bath. God I love soaking in a hot bath.

Audiobooks. Laying in a hot bath listening to Stephen Fry read P G Wodehouse and Sherlock Holmes is close to heaven.

Camomile tea.

Walking in my local woods. I love the English countryside in all weather, even the rain. Sadly the woods are being hacked into to make way for a big new housing estate.

Chocolate hobnobs (I put them in the freezer then dunk them in tea).

Are you me 😂

you’ve written everything I was going to say even down to the cockapoo! Aren’t they just lovely lovely dogs. Ours is nearly 9 months and just wonderful. Loves walks in the country and cheers me up when I’m sad

Another thing I do love is a glass of wine whilst crocheting. Simple pleasures and everything.

My new Hypnos bed, worth every penny and my bad back is truly grateful.

Spect8 · 07/01/2023 18:34

Fleece covered electric blanket with many settings. Cold bedroom, warm snug bed, bliss.

My bluetooth super dooper hearing aids (meningitis when a kid). I can hear everything now, answer the phone, the doorbell, hear the TV, listen to things on my phone. My life has been transformed and is not half as "lonely" as it once was.

Re upholstered sofa. So good now, no more sagging and is big enough for me to stretch out on. With a heated throw of course!

Colour coded storage boxes. Reader I decluttered. If it doesn't belong in one of the boxes it is out the door to the charity shop/dump/someone who wants it.

StealingYourWiFi · 07/01/2023 18:34

my dog who brings me endless joy - also a cockapoo.

Heated seat and steering wheel in the car.

Some fleece lined knitted slipper socks that DH bought me. I requested a second pair this Christmas. I find it hard to warm my feet up and these are great.

My crackle globe. It's still out despite all the Christmas stuff being out away as it offers a lovely glow.

My Kindle subscription. I use it for books and magazines. Save myself a fortune.

Down duvets and pillows with 100% cotton bedding.

IntentionalError · 07/01/2023 18:46

Apple devices.
A bottle of decent wine on a Saturday night.

flowerycurtain · 07/01/2023 18:52

Small one:
Isle of Skye candle

Big ones:
My Aga. We are farmers and there is literally a dog or a person warming themselves on it from 6am to 10pm. Converted to run off our solar panels recently so a little less bad than it used to be as well.
