Asda delivered today. Everything was good except I ordered trifle sponges and they were substituted with trifle sponge fingers but I can live with that. They arrived 90 minutes early though but I was home so it was ok.

We have two orders with Ocado. First arrived yesterday and everything there apart from, weirdly, digestives. Didn't think there would be a mad Christmas clamour for those!

Based on what people are buying, I would say quite a few people are making cheesecakes or similar for dessert.

CakeCrumbs44 · 22/12/2022 14:32

Asda delivery this morning had a couple of subs, but pretty normal stuff like low fat creme fraiche instead of normal creme fraiche, squash for a different flavour of squash etc.

UsefulSmartPrettyHappy · 22/12/2022 16:31

Reading this nervously as Tescos are delivering to me tomorrow. Plus it's the latest possible slot of the day. Fingers crossed it works out well.

Els1e · 22/12/2022 17:33

Waitrose delivery today. All good with one perfectly acceptable sub. Merry Christmas!

fernz · 22/12/2022 19:08

Ocado this afternoon. One missing item and 4 subs. Two of those were party food type things, one was biscuits, crackers for cheese subbed with a different type and M&S brie subbed with President brie. A bit annoyed as I'd added all to my order weeks ago.

I went to the nearest small M&S and got both the missing party food items and they seemed generally well stocked with everything Christmassy.

OxanaVorontsova · 22/12/2022 19:12

Ocado this morning all there apart from chestnuts, which are far from essential! Decent use by dates too.

7eleven · 22/12/2022 19:14

Ocado has just arrived. 4 sensible subs. 2 items missing. Not too bad x

BatshitCrazyWoman · 22/12/2022 19:14

Got everything, only my handcream was subbed, with a perfectly acceptable sub (obviously not a Christmas item 😂)

Crunchymum · 23/12/2022 07:23

No pork, no broccoli, no mince pies (and non Christmas but no bloody cat litter!!) so I'm going to have to take 3 kids out in the pissing rain. Or wait until DP finishes work tomorrow at 2pm.

Sleepplease2021 · 23/12/2022 07:27

Recieved my ocado order yesterday, nothing missing and all as it should be (apart from a squashed box of cakes!).

SquigglePigs · 23/12/2022 08:39

Waitrose last night. 3 subs, all reasonable - salmon terrine slices for different Christmas branded ones, salted caramel honeycomb replaced with chocolate honeycomb (less good but still ok) and loose leeks replaced with a multi pack. Only thing they failed me on was a pomegranate!

Hoppinggreen · 22/12/2022 09:14

Ocado due any minute
No chocolate croissants and no biscuits for cheese - the latter is a bit of an issue as I have ordered a shit load of cheese

There is a Jacobs cracker shortage as there was a strike recently at the factory, it's over now but probably behind now with stocks and people will be buying the other brands so they run low also

Southlandssue · 23/12/2022 10:18

Waitrose - not delivering my Christmas Day beef - thanks for that!

mamabear715 · 23/12/2022 10:38

Not delivered yet, but have had my online receipt from Tesco - subbed kitchen rolls & cream crackers, absolutely fine..
Missing, cigarettes (happens often so always have plenty in!) and non dairy brandy cream. I'll just throw rum into my existing non dairy cream!
Am VERY relieved!

mamabear715 · 23/12/2022 10:39

@Crunchymum , am sorry to hear that. Who was your order with? :-(

Needtoseethatbiggerpicture · 23/12/2022 10:40

13 substitutions, all reasonable (although I handed a couple of back - can’t stand reduced fat hummus for example!) but the bottle of Bailey’s was missinfpg which is really annoying.

Goatling · 23/12/2022 10:46

Got my receipt from Tesco, luckily while I was in Marks picking up my turkey, 10 subs and 4 unavailable. No eggs, no potatoes and no napkins, double cream subbed with Elmlea (ugh), sprout stick with loose sprouts, Paul Hollywood rolls with Tesco rolls. Nothing too bad but not impressed with no eggs or potatoes, I know there is a shortage of eggs but plenty in Sainsburys and my shopping comes from the middle of the biggest veg growing area in the UK!

Sainsburys. We went out at 8.30am and shops were really quiet. All sorted now 👍

moonriverandme · 23/12/2022 11:01

Ocado delivery yesterday. Just one substitution which was flavour of crisps & one cereal unavailable which was OK as have got some in cupboard anyway. All Christmas dinner items & party food arrived with decent use by dates. I was pleased with it & also that I actually got a slot, first time in all the years I have shopped with them for a delivery during Christmas week.I got a voucher for my delivery cost too which was good.

Mynameiselvispresley · 23/12/2022 11:01

Waitrose has missed off my apple and calvados stuffing that YOU have to give 10 days notice to cancel. Not offered a substitution 🤨

stopringingme · 23/12/2022 11:12

Waitrose order delivered yesterday everything that I ordered was delivered.

mamabear715 · 23/12/2022 11:16

Sounds like on the whole, the supermarkets have done ok this year!
(Hope I don't jinx anyone by saying that..)

TwoMagnificentLabradors · 23/12/2022 11:18

Waitrose substituted a large Melton Mowbray pork pie with two small ones. And Quality Street with Roses. All else fine. Can’t stand Roses, but on a £350 Christmas shop, I reckon we got off lightly.

Redglitter · 23/12/2022 11:20

Tesco had one appropriate substitute & Iceland one item out of stock. No difference to usual really. I was pleasantly surprised
