Ocado this evening, all there and on time.

Ocado order for 23rd, forgot breadcrumbs and now can’t add them.

Ocado’s service level really dipped last year when they started with M&S, I feel they’ve improved again but their prices are steeper than ever.

Sussex34 · 20/12/2022 22:04

Ocado order delivered this evening (order placed probably 3 weeks ago) and all of the Christmas food out of stock, no subs. Probably 20 items. Original order £96, only £30 worth of goods turned up. Shocking, they’ve already emailed me to apologise and will escalate in the morning.

mondaytosunday · 20/12/2022 22:12

Not due till 23rd! We shall see...

DilemmaDelilah · 20/12/2022 22:20

Small Tesco shop today - two sensible and acceptable substitutions and one item unavailable, which ended up in my order anyway! Big Morrison's order tomorrow - if I don't get the things I need I will have to go shopping tomorrow night.

Solasum · 20/12/2022 22:24

Frozen Turkey instead of fresh
small unsmoked own brand gammon instead of smoked nice one

londonmummy1966 · 20/12/2022 22:28

Waitrose managed to deliver everything except leeks - no offer of a subsititute. Luxury panacotta with an offered subsititute of a cheap and tacky trifle - no way and 2 smoked salmon tartlets with a sub of 6 gyozos - again no thanks. Slightly disappointed as normally if I reject a sub they offer it to me for free - they could still have taken the trifle but left me the gyozos.

Still better than M&S in store where a punnet of mushrooms was charged more at the till than the shelf label said......

WingingIt101 · 21/12/2022 06:41

Oh gosh 3pm on 23rd.

It's my first year properly hosting. I had my daughter at the start of the pandemic and then a second baby a few weeks ago so I've been working really hard to be so organised - monitoring my list and checking it lots. Went yesterday to get half a dozen items I'd missed and Tesco was heaving.

I have no childcare for the toddler on Friday so am hoping for no missing items that mean I have to attempt going in with both kids!!

user18596463 · 21/12/2022 06:48

Tesco yesterday, got 2 good substitutions

Got 400g Christmas pud instead of 100g one
Stray cat and hedgehogs are going to have a very happy Christmas as instead of cheapo £2.50 Tesco cat food got a £10 bag of IAms cat food

Didn't order all of the veg or chicken though as will get that from shop nearer the day

SquigglePigs · 21/12/2022 06:53

Tesco yesterday could have been worse. A couple of sensible subs (eg ham for different ham) but also a 500g box of chocs for a 360g - they were the same ones at least but a bit annoying. The worst was Yule log replaced with a gateaux! We sent that back. Actually most annoying was short dated milk that all expired on the 24th. We ended up keeping one and sending some back, will just need to pop to a shop later in the week.

theswoot · 21/12/2022 06:56

Ocado yesterday, same as @DelilahBucket in that the cooked meats platter I ordered was unavailable. They had subbed it but the sun wasn’t appropriate. Also no garlic stuffed olives. But other than that everything was there. (I should point out that we are not doing Christmas dinner at home as we are going to family so it was only some regular meals and some Christmas cheese and treats and wine!)

Unifolorn · 21/12/2022 06:57

Sainsburys, no subs and decent dates on it all, just need to get fresh veg now and some bread which I will do on Friday hopefully. Also was really pleased with the price, if you shop smartly at sainsburys I find it comparable with other places and the quality much better.

user18596463 · 21/12/2022 07:02

My Tesco milk had the 30th on, I also ordered 2 cravendale just in case dates were short

WontLetThoseRobotsDefeatMe · 21/12/2022 08:53

Email from Ocado about this morning's delivery - all present and correct apart from the Fondu cheese!!

Looks like I've been able to get Amazon Fresh to deliver that later today (plus all the standard bits I forgot!)

itsgettingweird · 21/12/2022 09:14

Just had email from Asda.

Substitute one cheese for another - fine.

Cheese for slices - will decline!

Pan au chocolat for croissants - will decline.

And none of my GF rolls are available 🙄

Luckily I got the email just as I was leaving to take ds to work so popped into local Tesco on way home for Pam au chocolate, the cheese and GF rolls!

So all will be present and correct when order arrives. Smile

Shekissedagirlandshelikedit · 21/12/2022 09:17

Ocado delivery this morning was pretty good. On time and dates are good so I'm impressed.
Subs were OK but no Jacobs crackers delivered so I'll have to venture out as those are a Christmas necessity 🎅

Grantanow · 21/12/2022 09:23

Very good all round, especially Waitrose but no Dundee cake which I had to source from M&S more expensively.

WinterNightStars · 21/12/2022 09:24

Had my Tesco order yesterday - everything available & only 4 subs but all were suitable🙂

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 21/12/2022 12:45

5 subs which are all okay except for the gluten free pastry sub (WtF?) and no raspberries.

MermaidEyes · 21/12/2022 12:51

Had mine from Tesco, only subs was dh beer which I think he can live without 😆 Anything important with a long shelf life I ordered a few weeks ago anyway.

Mia85 · 21/12/2022 12:53

Ocado due to today. Whilst most of it is there there are some very short dates including Christmas veg and things we'd got for Christmas Eve/day supper which expire beforehand. We can probably eat it after the expiry date but it's not really what you want for your christmas meal, esepcially as I booked most of it two months ago!

TrickyD · 21/12/2022 12:55

Tesco, Asda, Waitrose and Sainsbury all fine, no substitutions.
One item, a particular rum favoured by DH, was not available, but otherwise a heck of a lot of traipsing around supermarkets was avoided.
Just fresh veg to get at the market tomorrow.

FlorettaB · 21/12/2022 12:56

Ocado. No subs, one item out of stock (an interesting flavour of Toblerone)

TrentCrimm · 21/12/2022 12:59

Got my Waitrose order today, all there.

Five bottles of cava, bottle of sherry and a tub of Boursin velvety.

Yes, I missed the amendment cut off 😐

FlorettaB · 21/12/2022 13:05

Add some crusty bread and I’d call that a win TrentCrimm

lbnblbnb · 21/12/2022 13:09

Sainsbury's.
2 substitutions, both good choices so no issues. Delivery was slightly early, again, suited me fine.
