Both DH and I have, although I am far worse. I am exhausted as I keep coughing and I have a very runny nose and feel like shit. Really hope I am better before Christmas Day. There are only four of us, but there is still prep to do.

My two boys were ill at the weekend, my toddler daughter, two SS and I are now ill. Imagine husband isn't far behind. Fingers crossed its over quickly.

Most of it is covid. I’m on day 6, DH had it first. It’s not showing up on LFTs till few days in to the symptoms.

Dd had it 2 weeks ago but still has a lingering cough. DS had a slight cold that lasted no longer than 3 days. My bro anS Sis both had it last week and about 12 people at work have gone doWn With it. I feel shit right now but that’s because I’m due on and I’m prone to period flu which I get every month without fail.

Hope you get over it quicker than me @antelopevalley I’m on week 4. Never been so behind on Christmas but looks like we won’t be having any guests as no-one wants this bug

Pretty certain not covid, as had covid at the beginning of January and testing negative with the more sensitive flex flow. I've also had flu vaccination. This bug has been far worse for me than covid.
I think there are just so many infections going round.

I have been trying to sleep since 11. Every time I lie down I cough. I've got 3 pillows and still can't sleep. Next door probably want to kill me. On the plus side I think the mucus is trying to shift.

Me, DH and DC1 have had it since Friday. DH is testing positive for covid, but the rest of us negative 🤔We have same symptoms and came down with it at the same time, so who knows?

I've come down with it too

Thought it was a cough/cold. Day 3 of feeling ill. I've tested positive this morning for covid after 3 negative tests over the past few days. I don't feel too bad just grotty like a head cold and a tickly cough. I hope it stays that way. It started with a sore throat.

I did have a big family Christmas planned. My Mum is going to be devastated. I doubt that I'm going to be OK in time for Christmas 😭

@DarkKarmaIlama how are you today? Did you see GP? I went and have a bacterial chest infection and have codeine liquid syrup and antibiotics. Hoping this will knock it on the head. Glad I managed to see the doctor she said it wouldn’t have cleared up on its own.

Thanks for thinking of me. I’ve seen the GP and she said it’s an infection. I’m glad I went now, I am the daughter of a nurse and I tend to leave things until they get quite serious, it’s a hard mentality to shake. I got no sleep again, utterly exhausted. I’ve been told all the local pharmacies have a shortage of penecillin so i am being prescribed half the dose (which is better than nothing I guess). Making my way to the pharmacy now and just hoping they have some in 🤦‍♀️.

I am glad you got sorted, bit jealous of the codeine hopefully you manage to get some sleep now.

I don't think it's Covid because we've just had Covid. We're all testing negative. DCs' temps have dropped but now they have D&V. I'm very light-headed and have a sore throat.

@DarkKarmaIlama get some paracetamol and codeine tablets at the chemist, the doctor said if they didn’t have any syrup to get those over the counter as they will
help suppress the cough

I came down with it 5 days ago. Have been through fever, shakes, snot factory and now have settled into constant wheezing, a cough that hurts in my back and such a lack of energy.
very little sign of any improvement. Supposed to be having people over for Christmas dinner but little chance of that at the moment I think. Did covid test and that was negative, also doesn't feel anything like when I did have covid. Just miserable

I got ill on Tuesday night last week and covid tested a week ago, negative. Tested again a few days after that - positive.

The cough is the worst. And the snot. Luckily very little temp, I've just felt wiped and mentally very foggy and slow.

Also never had covid. Yet loads of people report having it multiple times.

Not that I want any of it thank you.

Our whole house is down.
Negative for covid
Hacking coughs, making people either vomit or wee themselves
High temperatures in the children
Cracking headaches
I can't stay awake - slept all night, then needed another 4 hours before I had the energy to get out of bed

Really hoping it clears up before the weekend

I’ve only had flu once in my life and I don’t think this was it although maybe. Had it at the start of this month, I couldn’t move for a couple of days without feeling like my body was falling apart. Everywhere just hurt, my skin even felt sensitive to clothing and things like water in the shower. I was knackered, coughing constantly and just felt like crap for a good week. It wasn’t covid either but way worse than any cold I’ve ever had. Flu was much worse though, I was hallucinating when I had the flu and couldn’t move at all for a week.

Still struggling with sinus pain and a slight cough three weeks later.

Yep - been unwell since Sunday night/Monday. Thought I was doing ok but woke up feeling much worse/like death this morning. Dosing up and praying it will not de-rail Christmas plans.

Hope you feel better soon. That is a bit odd only to prescribe a half dose. Which antibiotic and what is the dose?
I'm on 500mg 3 times a day amoxicillin for 5 days for me chesty cough.

Last week I was giving my baby 250mg , 3 times a day. They had run out of the liquid baby stuff, so got prescribed adult 500mg capsules which I had to dissolve and give half. The other half was thrown away which felt a waste

I was told I would be on a half dose depending on if the pharmacy was short or not. Anyway I got to the pharmacy and they said they had the full dose. To be honest I was a bit confused myself from what the GP said but I presume this pharmacy was struggling for stock.

Anyway I have been prescribed amoxicillin for 7 days. I am on 1000mg (2 x 500) 3 times a day for 7 days.

Anyone else come down with the lurgy?
