Anyone else come down with the lurgy?

Both DH and I have, although I am far worse. I am exhausted as I keep coughing and I have a very runny nose and feel like shit.
Really hope I am better before Christmas Day. There are only four of us, but there is still prep to do.

We have it. I'm torn between feeling I should force myself to do stuff - because there's so much to do - and saying fuck it and staying in bed.
Nearly cried today. I'm so tired of being ill and I had such nice plans for this week.

With the stopping of testing for the majority of the population (and LFTs being fairly useless) a lot of it is just undiagnosed COVID - my family all had it followed by me, but only half of them tested positive on an LFT.

A week later and I’m almost better - just coughing up all sorts! 😆

Mine definitely seems like a bad cold, I had Covid a couple of months ago and it was completely different to this, I had a high temperature and a few cold symptoms and spent a couple of days in bed feeling quite ill with no appetite but recovered really quickly after that with not much cough. The cold I have now is showing no signs of going after a week, it's just hanging on

I’ve got it. Did a covid test that was negative. Repeated it 3 days later after being in bed all weekend with raging fever and aches and lo, its covid.

Yes. I had covid 3 wks ago then got hit with something else Saturday and spent 3 days in bed. It was awful as nothing specifically wrong other than a cough and just an extremely tired and horrible feeling. I was up at 4am this morning crying I was so fed up/felt so awful. Luckily feeling better today.

you’re all scaring me now re COVID, must get another test tomorrow.

When DH and I had Covid a couple of months ago, test didn't show up for about 3 days and we both had temperatures, I haven't bothered with a test this time as I have no temperature and it does feel like a cold

@DarkKarmaIlama im similar. Wracking cough, sore throat, chest feels tight, rash over my
stomach and chest. Fever has gone but I’m coughing so much I’m setting myself and nearly sick. No appetite.

i had a bit of a rash on my chest and stomach for about a week when I had Covid, it was itchy spots but I have had similar when I have had flu so like a viral rash so wasn't too worried about it, it did clear up after about a week, I think it was probably the temperature that caused it.

Oh no. It’s absolutely grim isn’t it? I usually get on with things and I’m quite tough but this has knocked me for six. Hope you manage some respite tonight.

I've got something that feels like a cold. Blocked up, sore throat, wheezing (I'm desperately taking my steroid pump for asthma to stop this hitting my chest). But don't feel very ill. Luckily I had some cold and flu meds in the cupboard.

I could have wrote how you feel. I went doctors yesterday they have gave me antibiotics and are starting me on steroids. I have not felt this bad since having covid in March. I'm testing negative for covid though.

Hope everyone starts to feel better soon. Plenty of rest.

Yes its truly hideous. My head feels as if it's being drilled into my throat and chest are on fire and I've used most of a box of tissues today . I started last Thursday and still no better at all . I've done two LFTs and both were negative. Might take another tomorrow because I feel so dreadful.

Yep, hacking cough like I’ve been smoking for ever, nose doesn’t stop running, aches and a temp. Started Sunday just immediate. Lemsip is my friend.

I feel quite lucky to have only had a very minor illness with a slight stuffy nose and a bit of a cough. Normally I get very ill and pick up everything, but not this time. I've actually not been ill for 2 years since I completely cut out sugar and carbs from my diet. Not even with Covid. I'm not vaccinated for flu or covid either.

We are in a 5th covid wave. I have it now and started to hear about lot's of people getting it again.
I tested one day and it was clear, second day strong positive

@ZeViteVitchofCwismas i thought i read flu was higher than covid in some places , or did i imagine that ?
That said i don't know anyone really testing for covid unless they have to for work etc

I've had cough and tons of snot for over two weeks. Now on antibiotics as cough was getting worse and risk it was turning into secondary bacterial infection.
The huge amount of snot is probably sinusitis- so seems like there is a lot of that about. Trying to reset and drink lots, but hard with a 1 yo who is also sick.

Health COVID isn't mentioned at all around me but just recently people started to come down with it . I still have testees from the DC etc.

Same here, made worse by having had abdominal surgery less than two weeks ago, so having to try and hold my laparoscopic scars which hurt like hell now.
