We're going right up until the 23rd this year - this seems bonkers! Are we an exception or quite usual?

Schools here broke up last week on Friday.

BobBobBobbing · 20/12/2022 18:57

23rd. I didn't realise and booked us a Christmas activity on that day. They won't be in school on the 23rd (it's not even a full day, it is just 1 lesson and an assembly so I don't feel the slightest bit guilty)

Most of the fun is in the run up to Christmas so it seems bonkers to not break up til Christmas Eve Eve.

Last Friday - Somerset.

BCBird · 20/12/2022 18:58

State -West Midlads last Fri. Mate in north east state too- today🤔

TearsNReindeers · 20/12/2022 18:58

State schools where I am (Lindon borough) are all different. Some 15th, some 16th, some yesterday, some tomorrow. No idea why it’s all different.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 20/12/2022 19:01

Finished on Friday (Solihull)

TheFallenMadonna · 20/12/2022 19:04

Tomorrow, thank goodness. Back on 4th.

AutisticLegoLover · 20/12/2022 19:07

23rd for both primary and secondary here. Both dc are ill and are hoping to make it in for the last couple of days but I'm not convinced they will.

MyBestFriendKenny · 20/12/2022 19:08

DS1 is lunchtime Thursday. DD and DS2 are 3:30pm on Friday. The very bitter end. The whole school is on its knees and I'd much rather have them off before Christmas when we can do fun, festive stuff rather than until the 9th January.

Cismyfatarse · 20/12/2022 19:09

Private here. 23rd.

AmazonPrim · 20/12/2022 19:12

Mine finished on the 14th (private), but the state schools here in Surrey finished on the 16th

Frazzled2207 · 20/12/2022 19:14

Officially Friday but our school has inset so Thursday.
everyone is complaining that it is “so late this year” but it is every year. Often finish and start midweek so they don’t even get two full weeks off.

generalh · 20/12/2022 19:17

We finish on Friday and go back on 9th January. Roll on...

MarshaBradyo · 20/12/2022 19:18

Finished last week - private a bit earlier and state on Friday

DumpedByText · 20/12/2022 19:21

North Wales here and we finish on Thursday, latest I've ever known it. I'm so ready for two weeks off!

Pineconederby · 20/12/2022 19:22

Broke up today, back Jan 4th. 2 full weeks but not the three weekends we’ve had in the past. Bit of a shame really, would have made it easier to see family etc.

impossiblerequest · 20/12/2022 19:22

This Friday. We always finish late. I like it because I get extra time to do stuff beforehand and they get longer to play with their new toys after Christmas.

Jules912 · 20/12/2022 19:23

Last Friday for most schools in our area, will hopefully give us time to get over the illness DS has brought home before Christmas.

sinkyt · 20/12/2022 19:26

last Friday

RedElephants · 20/12/2022 19:27

Mainstream here, we finish tomorrow, back on the 9th.
Private school up the road from me (same county council) finished on the 15/12 and back on the 9/1.

sinkyt · 20/12/2022 19:27

and that was for state & probate

sinkyt · 20/12/2022 19:27

private

Luana1 · 20/12/2022 19:27

State primary in London. We broke up on the 16th and back on the 4th. The 23rd seems very late. We are doing quite a few Christmas activities this week (seeing Father Christmas/going to a couple of shows) - it would have been quite disappointing not to be able to have booked these if school was still going!

SheWoreYellow · 20/12/2022 19:30

jamoncrumpets · 20/12/2022 17:39

Nope. Mine both in state schools broke up on Friday,

@jamoncrumpets WTF do you mean ‘no’?

The question was when do your schools finish?
