When does your school finish for Christmas?

We're going right up until the 23rd this year - this seems bonkers! Are we an exception or quite usual?

Mine Broke up on 14th and 16th AM. Back on 9th and 10th January.

22nd lunch time.

In Wales too. 23rd but so many off sick this week it's going to be a longer break.

Finished today, thank god. I’m so unwell, just sitting here feeling sick.

Wales, one finishes on Friday, the other has an inset on Friday so finishes on Thursday. I really think it’s too late, everyone is ill and exhausted!

Teachers had three nativities to organise. Reception two performances, years 1 and 2 three performances, years 3 to 6 . Two performances. That's seven performances over a week. Children and teachers were going off sick between performances .

School sent out an email at the weekend strep A cases climbing. The school party is tomorrow, going to be a quieter affair than normal .

Local state schools finished at lunchtime today. My nephews are in until Friday though.

Ours is going to the 23rd and I hate it tbh, it feels so rushed. My 12yr old has 3 unit exams this week and yesterday a history research project was assigned and made due for the 23rd - that just seems dickish IMO

Ah this seems so unfair
DD's first school finishes on Thursday as Friday is a teacher training day
DS' middle school right up until the bitter end on Friday afternoon (usual time, no early finish). He's 9 ☹️

They'll miss out on all of the lovely build up, Christmas activities etc, but instead get to enjoy the miserable first weeks of January! They're not back until the 9th & 20th

Last Friday for us (London state primary) which was great as it was the same as the last day of term at the Uni where I work.

I'm back on the 3rd and they have an INSET day so back on the 4th.

Would much rather have the time before to get ready and do festive things!

Mine finished on 16th and go back on 3rd

16th here (state). Usually it's around the 18th. Gives me and DC lots of time to recover!

I work in a primary and the children there and my own DC who are secondary age (and staff), had all absolutely had it last week. Loads of bugs doing the rounds so hopefully we'll all be better for Christmas day.

It looks like in this part of the country they finished last Friday (16 Dec) and will be going back on 03 Jan.

I don’t really mind as we’re not going anywhere for Christmas, but they’ll be exhausted by Friday and then Christmas Eve is upon us immediately! I’m not hugely looking forward to that whole 1st week of January off either.

I’d have preferred them to finish maybe mid this week and go back maybe 4th or 5th of jan
