I was remembering back when I was kid, my Nan would pick us up from school, and take us back to her house where we would have a small tea.

One thing we loved was tidgy puds and gravy. I was gutted when they stopped doing tidgy puds

I miss toast toppers too. I loved all three flavours. I even wrote to Heinz asking where they had gone. Low calorie too :/(

CuordiMela765 · 14/12/2022 16:23

Callard and Bowser mint toffees, butterscotch and soft nougat.

MistletoeMouse · 14/12/2022 16:24

Fuse bars x100! (When I've really got a craving, I create my own home made version)

Tangy Twiglets.

M&S Nut cutlets circa 1987ish

Sainsbury's garlic and herb rice (so, so garlicky)

SideEyeSally · 14/12/2022 16:24

Cadbury's Marble bar. This has recently been brought back but only for the Indian market and probably won't be as good.

The Galaxy truffle you used to get in boxes of Celebrations which my sister and I would fight over every xmas

Irn Bru chew bars. I know they make these now but they are a pale imitation of the original ones which physically hurt your face to eat. I heard they were banned due to being unfit for human consumption. I know these rumours always fly about but I fully believe that to be true.

Proper (by which I mean improper) vinegar. Too many chippies even in Scotland have switched a a nice malt vinegar. I want the legally-not-vinegar non-brewed condiment (acid) of old.

This one is a recent loss which I will pay a bounty for. Foamy Ice Cream sweeties. Like foam bananas but ice cream cone shaped and flavoured. Used to buy them for 5/10p for a big tub in corner shops. Seem to have disappeared over the last few years and show out of stock on wholesale websites. I would put down decent cash to buy a big tub.

Has he tried the Aldi ones, far more like the old sugar puffs.

I feel deprived because I don't know what a tidgy pud is.

They were literally minature yorkie puds. Aunt Bessie’s did them and they were so lovely. About the size of a 50p

Macintosh apples. So good!

overthinkersanonnymus · 14/12/2022 16:27

Cadbury's fuse bars

Micro noodles

Findus microwave lasagna

Proper sunny delight

Red apples!! I haven't seen a Snow White style, red apple in years.

Now I've written them down, I realise why I'm so unhealthy 😂😂

IHeartGeneHunt · 14/12/2022 16:28

B and M have jars of cockles and mussels!

I miss Worcester sauce twiglets, Romantica frozen gateau and toffee mallow eggs

Hobbitlover · 14/12/2022 16:29

M&S baked potato & butter crisps

Are you thinking of coconut boost rather than toffee crisp ? I always loved these in selection box at Xmas and would swap 2 bars of something else to get my brothers one

BadBear · 14/12/2022 16:30

Not that old but Fox's used to do these biscuits called Caffe Snaps and they were the best thing ever! 😫

Prinnny · 14/12/2022 16:30

Oh god I loved boasters too! Not seen those for years.

MistletoeMouse · 14/12/2022 16:30

I wonder if anyone would remember these kids yoghurts.

They were strawberry flavoured and came in the shape of a flying saucer. In the middle was a toy.

I remember!! I think they were called onken or something?

rubydoobydoo · 14/12/2022 15:09

Sweet and Sour flavour Supernoodles - the best hangover cure ever.

Roundas - crispbake type things in breadcrumbs with sausage meat and baked beans in.

Omg I loved that flavour of Supernoodles too!

AliceMcK · 14/12/2022 16:31

Meat and potatoe pasties. From the NW and nobody seems to make them anymore.

I also never knew the mouses had to be defrosted 😆

Callard and Bowser mint toffees, butterscotch and soft nougat.

Our 90 year old neighbour Mrs. Beard used to have those on her sideboard at Christmas. We'd be invited into her front room and my mum would get a sherry and I'd get a butterscotch. Only time she used the room. It would have been early 70s so it's amazing to think now that she'd have been born about 1880. Wow.

@mscynical I remember me and mum discovering the Lovely. Before that it was Birds Eye Orange and Lemon mousse but the Lovely was on another level

My dad always asking for sugar puffs not the honey coated ones the real unhealthy ones

My dad used to add sugar to Sugar Puffs as they 'weren't sweet enough'. Did the same to Crunchy Nut Cornflakes too.

MintyGreenDreams · 14/12/2022 16:33

TellingBone · 14/12/2022 16:35

Heinz cucumber sandwich spread
Bournvita
Barmouth biscuits

frogface69 · 14/12/2022 16:35

Spartan chocolates. My rich aunt used to buy a box at Christmas. They were hard centred and deliciously crunchy. When she visited in the New Year she gave me the empty box for me to put my treasures in.

GrammarTeacher · 14/12/2022 16:35

Spira bars. Loved a Spira. And Secrets.

Hocuspocus99 · 14/12/2022 16:36

Cadburys tasters and spiralbars
