I was remembering back when I was kid, my Nan would pick us up from school, and take us back to her house where we would have a small tea.

One thing we loved was tidgy puds and gravy. I was gutted when they stopped doing tidgy puds

silverbubbles · 14/12/2022 16:09

This is very current - in the last 8 months or so i can't find a Topic....
please don't tell me they have discontinued these...
does anyone know?

BalloonSlayer · 14/12/2022 16:11

I didn't know you were supposed to defrost those mousses!

Well I never!!!

Cheese Snaps! Gone since the 90s though the frankly underwhelming Spicy Tomato flavour held on a bit longer.

I remember them!!! They were delicious

Phileas Fogg garlic bites. You could break a tooth on their hard bake but so delicious. I could eat a whole bag before supper.

DialSquare · 14/12/2022 16:14

Which were originally Walter's Potato Puffs.
Best crispy snack in the world ever.
I liked the plain ones best.

Were the Walters ones in a blue and white packet?

Spanielsarepainless · 14/12/2022 16:15

And cheese footballs with a cheese filling. Yum!

SnowlayRoundabout · 14/12/2022 16:16

You can still get cheese footballs, thank the Lord. I've got a tub full ready for consumption on Christmas Day.

Whipmuncher · 14/12/2022 16:16

Loads.

  1. ketchips - my mum used to get them from Bejam. Frozen chips with a thin thread of ketchup through the centre. Minging really.
  2. jars of mussels / cockles in tomato sauce. You never see them now but they always had them in supermarkets next to the plain ones.
  3. peperami cheesy. Vegetarian cheese version of a peperami. Weren’t around long but were glorious, yet also minging.
  4. Dairy milk with the purply blue shiny inner paper
  5. full size twiglets
  6. proper sosmix, the stuff you added water to that went bright pink
  7. Bernard Matthews turkey burgers with the layer of cheese on top under the breadcrumbs
All 80s / early 90s.
crazeecatladee · 14/12/2022 16:17

@Bananalanacake cheese footballs can be bought from Sainsburys

Bobbins36 · 14/12/2022 16:18

Double Deckers when there were raisins in the bottom layer

Fry’s Five centres
Terrys Neopolitans
Pacers
KP Beef crisps

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 14/12/2022 16:18

Bovril crisps, the marmite ones are nice but not in the same league

HedgehogB · 14/12/2022 16:18

Yes! I loved Neapolitans

wimbler · 14/12/2022 16:19

boomy ice lollies with the individual strawberry, lemon and orange shaped fruits on a stick.

Cadbury Fuse bars

Bobbins36 · 14/12/2022 16:19

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight bovril crisps! Forgot about those. Loved them.

ehb102 · 14/12/2022 16:19

Vesta beef risotto. Hasn't been made for over 10 years. I gleaned the last few from B&M but sadly they are no more. The Chow Mein doesn't cut it.

HedgehogB · 14/12/2022 16:19

Heinz toast toppers.

ehb102 · 14/12/2022 16:20

Also cheese moments. Like scampi fries but tangy. I had KP cheese footballs this year and they were similar but bland.

loislovesstewie · 14/12/2022 16:20

I feel deprived because I don't know what a tidgy pud is.

QueenWenceslas · 14/12/2022 16:20

Pickled Onion Discos were my favourite ever crisps.

Terry’s Twilights, my lovely Nan always had a good supply of these at Christmas.

The Galaxy Truffle in Celebrations.

Prinnny · 14/12/2022 16:20

Pizza fingers, ricicles cereal and these Cadbury sweets I think were called astroids, puff in the middle then chocolate and then a shell like a smartie! Oh and the galaxy truffle out of the celebrations 😭

YouTarzan · 14/12/2022 16:21

You used to get these peanuts sweets, that were shaped like a peanut with a hard shiny peach coloured sugary coating, with salty peanut cracknell inside. There are some peanut sweets out there at the moment they’re sort of mustardy brown coloured with chopped peanuts inside and they are not the same!

HappySonHappyMum · 14/12/2022 16:22

@treadcarefully @FeltCarrot @EspeciallyD @CoQ10 and any other hunters of dark chocolate spread. I love the stuff, can't bear that Nutella stuff, and have found two other makers of dark chocolate spread that taste absolutely delicious. They are Lindt Dark Chocolate Spread and Tiptree Chocolate Spread. The Tiptree one is completely nut free and 60% dark chocolate but the Lindt one tastes richer but does have 10% nuts (although I can't taste them). If you can find them try them they are bloomin' gorgeous!

BaddogGooddoggy · 14/12/2022 16:22

Mint cracknell
