I was remembering back when I was kid, my Nan would pick us up from school, and take us back to her house where we would have a small tea.

One thing we loved was tidgy puds and gravy. I was gutted when they stopped doing tidgy puds

Schwartz Salad Dressing. It had little sesame seeds in. A light dusting really gave an otherwise boring salad a boost.

Violinist64 · 14/12/2022 16:36

Coffee creams in a box of chocolates, Walls Pink Elephant ice cream.

JudgeJ · 14/12/2022 16:37

Ritter Sport Mocha, it was to die for, don't know why they discontinued it but introduced some awful varieties.

dontknowwasmadetoknow · 14/12/2022 16:37

Lyon's chocolate cupcakes

Sara Lee pecan danish

Dairy milk without the palm oil

Although that has helped stop my chocolate craving as I just don't buy chocolate anymore.

Weekend box , I'd forgotten about them but I could taste them now!
Cadburys Contrast
Vesta Paella , height of exoticism
Going to the sweet shop - in general , not a supermarket to buy sweets
Choosing which variety of toffees you wanted , Badgers or Dairy Maid
If you hadn't got enough money for a quarter you could buy 2oz
Coconut mushrooms

Vesta Paella was my first taste of 'foreign' food, back in the 60s.

dontknowwasmadetoknow · 14/12/2022 16:42

Also Merlins brew ice lolly's I could only get them in the corner shop near my grandparents and the chocolate and mint flavour

Needanewnamebeingwatched · 14/12/2022 16:43

The old black chocolate spread, I'm 51 now so 40yrs ago.

Think spread on white bread with real butter.

Now it's all rubbish

Pot rice - chicken supreme flavour
Entermann cakes - especially the carrot cake. Used to be able to get from Sainsburys in the late 90s/early 2000s. Can't get in the UK any more as far as I can see.

Entemann carrot cake, memories of many US trips, and the Walmart's single serving, about 4 inches square and 2 inches thick!

M&S baked potato & butter crisps

Oh I loved them. Sound bland but they were amazing, actually tasted like a baked potato with butter on.

Hyggeandhugs · 14/12/2022 16:47

Ready salted Disco crisps
The coffee creams in Quality Streets

crazeecatladee · 14/12/2022 16:47

Nutty bars. Soft fudgy caramel rolled in unsalted peanuts. I loved them.

Sharp apples that tasted of apple not sugary fibre. I miss them so much.

@NewToWoo Yes I remember those. They were delicious

SolarEcrisp · 14/12/2022 16:51

Jamaica Inn chocolate, it was rum and raisin flavor. Think Ritter do a similar one but not as good.

and double decker chocolate bars when they had raisins in - so much better than the ones you get now!

caramac04 · 14/12/2022 16:51

@walchesterweasel coconut mushrooms are sold in our local Yum Yuma shop.

TabbyBeast · 14/12/2022 16:52

Mint eggs. Like creme eggs but mint fondant. Think the wrapper was designed like a barrel?

shumway · 14/12/2022 16:53

Are tidgy puds what I think they are - mini yorkshires. If so not only can you make them yourself, but Aunt Bessies make them!

Trez1510 · 14/12/2022 16:54

Hampden Wafer Biscuits (Dark chocolate gooey wafers)
Tudor Crisps (any flavour, but particularly Pickled Onion or Gammon)
Heinz Clear Chicken Soup (like salty dishwater with rice & small chicken chunks)

Smineusername · 14/12/2022 16:55

Haven't rtft but:

Twin tub ice creams, like a fruit corner but with vanilla ice cream and a whole corner full of caramel sauce. Genius

Secret bars

Vice versas

Those little pink fondant, milk chocolate coated pigs (or was it mice?) from Thorntons

Libre55 · 14/12/2022 16:55

Toffee and mallow eggs. Lincoln biscuits.

bendmeoverbackwards · 14/12/2022 16:56

Kellogg’s Puffa Puffa rice cereal

Chinese Spare rib crisps - sold at our school tuck shop in the 80s.

Tiger Stripe ice cream from Dayvilles

808Kate1 · 14/12/2022 16:57

@crazeecatladee @TellingBoneThe Heinz one? Where did you get it from because I would kill to find it!?

bendmeoverbackwards · 14/12/2022 16:58

Oh and Ovaltine chocolate bar (orange wrapper). I bought something like it on Amazon recently but it wasn’t the same.
