I was remembering back when I was kid, my Nan would pick us up from school, and take us back to her house where we would have a small tea.

One thing we loved was tidgy puds and gravy. I was gutted when they stopped doing tidgy puds

Magnum did a limited edition deadly sins ice cream collection. The gluttony one was so good! Gutted they didn't keep it.

Loads of things I didn't see for years but have come back - tangy toms, BN BN biscuits

Rosesanddaisies2020 · 14/12/2022 16:00

Sun lollies. I know they do similar ones now but they aren't as good.

PepsiMaxAholic · 14/12/2022 16:00

MintyGreenDreams · 14/12/2022 15:57

@PepsiMaxAholic look in b&m,home bargains etc I'm sure they sell them in there

😮 thank you, I will be looking next time I go. I always see the Chow Mein ones but never the others.

sunflowerandivy · 14/12/2022 16:00

Mint feast

Lysianthus · 14/12/2022 16:00

Candleabra · 14/12/2022 14:37

Frozen supermousse (you defrosted them before you ate them)

Or not if your mother wanted to pass them off as ice cream

808Kate1 · 14/12/2022 16:01

@MintyGreenDreams The old thinner chipsticks were lovely but an over-seasoned salt & vinegar packet could strip the roof of your mouth!

northbacchus · 14/12/2022 16:01

Splendips, even though I wouldn’t be able to eat them anymore!

OooohAhhhh · 14/12/2022 16:01

Lee & Perrins sprinkle & spice. Loved it on chips

QueenofallIsee · 14/12/2022 16:02

Cheese Snaps! Gone since the 90s though the frankly underwhelming Spicy Tomato flavour held on a bit longer.

Ohyoudodoyou · 14/12/2022 16:02

Sweet peanuts. Hard, crunchy, salty and with peanuts in the middle. The ones you buy now are just shaped like peanuts and taste of poo.
I'll never get the same childhood joy of cutting my tongue and making it bleed when I eat one.

Merrow · 14/12/2022 14:23

Creamola foam. I'm sure it wouldn't taste as good as I remember, but I used to love it!

Someone bought the rights and now makes it again. Think they are Scottish (where else?) You can buy it on Amazon at stupid prices. I have not tried it, I think my teeth would walk out in protest these days 😁

REP22 · 14/12/2022 16:03

Pacers sweets, Quattro fizzy drink and Birds Hot Crunch Puddings. Also Vesta Paella. Nomnomnom...

LabRat90 · 14/12/2022 16:03

The Wonka chocolate bars with the crackling candy inside! Was gutted when they disappeared.

Also a yoghurt from the 90s when I was a kid which had a little plastic lid filled with hundreds and thousands to pour into the yoghurt.

crazeecatladee · 14/12/2022 15:36

Finally a recent product that has disappeared from the shelves - Walkers Poppables. They are made for the american market but no longer for us!!!
Deltas - absolutely loved them too and the Potato Puffs from my school tuckshop. Cheese moments - a pub snack par excellence

Yes deltas they were lovely.

REP22 · 14/12/2022 16:06

And Lyons Maid Favourite Centres ice lollies, especially the mint crisp one.

RotiCanai · 14/12/2022 16:06

Kellogg’s hot oat krumbly…. Hated all cereal but LOVED this

Taz bars

lovelypidgeon · 14/12/2022 16:06

Bananalanacake · 14/12/2022 15:56

Little Wafer balls with cheese in them, also a wafer cylinder, like a thick pencil with cheese in the middle. Can't remember who made them.

I loved these! My 'posh' neighbours used to serve the cheese wafer cylinder things as nibbles when they invited people round for drinks in the 80s. I thought they were the height of sophistication. Sadly I have not been able to find anything remotely similar since. I also remember cheese/sour cream and chive dips that came in a sachet as a powder that you whisked with milk. I'm sure the fresh chilled dips that are sold in supermarkets now are far better quality but I often crave the 80s version.

Doseagullstasteoffish · 14/12/2022 16:06

Fiendish feet yoghurts (particularly the banana one!)
Cadbury’s Spira bars
the mixed flavour packs of Rollos

SnowlayRoundabout · 14/12/2022 16:07

M&S sausage rolls with tomatoes.

Crispy cod bites. There was just something about the way they did the batter that was yummy.

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 14/12/2022 16:07

Phileas Fogg snacks, especially 'Punjab Puri' and 'Mignons Morceaux'

'Smax' (biscuity snacks similar to 'Fish'n'Chips' but in a lovely indefinable flavour that was described as bacon but wasn't really).

AnElegantChaos · 14/12/2022 16:08

When we were students we used to stick a Taz bar with banana in a Breville toastie.

amusedbush · 14/12/2022 16:09

I came here to lament the loss of Toast Topper but I see I'm late to the party there!

God, I miss it. The chicken and mushroom one was the cat's pyjamas.

walchesterweasel · 14/12/2022 16:09

Weekend box , I'd forgotten about them but I could taste them now!
Cadburys Contrast
Vesta Paella , height of exoticism
Going to the sweet shop - in general , not a supermarket to buy sweets
Choosing which variety of toffees you wanted , Badgers or Dairy Maid
If you hadn't got enough money for a quarter you could buy 2oz
Coconut mushrooms

caramac04 · 14/12/2022 16:09

Aztec bars! I really loved these but they stopped production years ago.

WetLettuce2 · 14/12/2022 16:09

Proper toast toppers that don’t taste of baby bland.

Bitza Pizza crisps - food of the gods.

Pig crisps.

Jumbo cod fingers.

Highland toffee in those silver foils.

French bread pizza when they still tasted nice.
