I was remembering back when I was kid, my Nan would pick us up from school, and take us back to her house where we would have a small tea.

One thing we loved was tidgy puds and gravy. I was gutted when they stopped doing tidgy puds

Symingtons Table Cream.

Very, very sad about that one.

Burtons potato puffs crisps. All flavours were divine. They are the only foodstuffs I pine for from my childhood.

100% the same for me

knittingaddict · 14/12/2022 15:16

My husband would say old style Cheeselets. He's never quite forgiven them for changing it to a healthier? version. I can't even remember what the old ones were like now.

Nutty bars. Soft fudgy caramel rolled in unsalted peanuts. I loved them.

Sharp apples that tasted of apple not sugary fibre. I miss them so much.

Cox's Orange Pippins are the ones to look for - they taste of proper apples.

Cadbury's cream eggs without the palm oil

Anything without palm oil.

808Kate1 · 14/12/2022 15:19

Club biscuits when they had a wider range, especially the dark chocolate one with a green wrapper and picture of a golf ball

DailyMaui · 14/12/2022 15:20

The hazelnut cracknell and peanut cracknell Quality Street.

How very DARE they discontinue the sweets of the gods.

I think about them so much at this time of year. Mind you, Quality Street doesn't taste the same now and Roses are properly grim too. Is it the palm oil?

Those Heinz puddings in a tin that you had to warm up in boiling water. They were so nice. Also Vesta Beef Curry

The hot chocolate one was lush.

purplewolfie · 14/12/2022 15:21

Phileas Fogg snacks - the original ones with the little garlic bread and puris. I want them back :(

Creamola foam. I'm sure it wouldn't taste as good as I remember, but I used to love it!

I found the Aldi dissolving vitamin c in the berry flavour tastes just like it! Kinda. If you use your imagination 😂

Deltas. Those salty little triangle snacks. They were so good. 80s party nibbles staple but I remember buying until early -mid noughties from sainsburys then they totally vanished.

I remember those, and miss them too. I think the supermarkets own brands ones were just called potato triangles or something. They were really nice, and were good for dips as well.

nicslackey · 14/12/2022 15:21

Amazin' Raisin Bars, Texan bars, Cabanna bars and mint cracknell. Any fizzy drinks without sweetener in them

OldTinHat · 14/12/2022 15:22

Toast Toppers here, too!

And the Fabulous Baker Boys range of cakes, all of them. So moist and were nut free so my DS could eat them.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 14/12/2022 15:22

Ryvita - yes , I know it’s still available but it bears no resemblance to the original 1970/ 80 s one. That tasted of rye, it stayed crisp, it was oddly ‘healthy’ looking and tasting; now Ryvita makes recycled cardboard look appetising.

I've just donated the last of the last packet I shall ever buy to the birds, and they aren’t showing much interest.

I was just coming back to say these! Mignons Morceaux were the garlic ones 😋

I wonder if anyone would remember these kids yoghurts.

They were strawberry flavoured and came in the shape of a flying saucer. In the middle was a toy.

There was a dessert called Romantica. Was absolutely divine.

danceyourselfdizzy1 · 14/12/2022 15:25

Supermousse.

Burtons cheese and tomato potato puffs

Which were originally Walter's Potato Puffs.
Best crispy snack in the world ever.
I liked the plain ones best.

AmberGer · 14/12/2022 15:29

Greggs Egg custard tarts.
When they reduced the menu due to covid, they never brought them back 😪

I've tried egg custards from everywhere else, even local bakeries and none compare.

crazeecatladee · 14/12/2022 15:29

Eiffel Tower lemonade crystals sold in an embossed glass tube (like a toilet roll inner) You mixed them up with hot water then allowed to cool. Absolutely delicious
Breakfast biscuits good with cheese. Sold loose from a big biscuit tin. I thought I'd dreamed them up, until I saw an image on a jigsaw puzzle.
Vesta ready meals - chow mein with real crispy noodles - student exotica in the 60s
Kunzel cakes - a lovely cake case made of chocolate and filled with flavoured sickly mousses and bits of cake sponge. There was a campaign to reintroduce them in the 70's and I believe Waitrose did them for a while but really they were too sickly for our modern tastes.
Lucky numbers chocolate selection - sold loose, as indeed were Quality street
Spangles
Frys 5 centre - loved them. Mint is OK though
Black magic with a real variety of centres - coffee creme, montilmar, butterscotch, hazel nut cluster,
Matinee mixture - made from a marzipan type product. Pastel shades and many fancy shapes. Again bought loose by the ounze/quarter.

dontgobaconmyheart · 14/12/2022 15:32

I'm hoping someone will pop up to say they still exist and you can buy them at 'x' but it's Boasters biscuits for me - I think about them far more than I reasonable should given I've not had one in more than 10 years.

Milky Way crispy rolls as well.
