Salt, vinegar for the chips, a squeeze of lemon for the fish and tartare sauce (I might dip the odd chip into some ketchup too). East Anglia (but not born and bred)

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 12/12/2022 20:46

Leicester. I would have salt, vinegar and tomato sauce.

Common request is mushy peas and curry sauce.

Surrey and I'd have LOADS of salt and vinegar over all of it with a pot of curry sauce to dip the chips and some tartare for the cod. I'm laying in bed contemplating nipping to the chippy now 😂

itbemay · 12/12/2022 20:48

Kent - salt and Mayo!

Calm down love. Crikey!!!

Having moved from London to The Midlands I am just gobsmacked at people here eating gravy with almost everything and their plates all swimming with it.

I just don't get why you would take food that is crisp like chips, roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding and soak them with gravy to make them mushy. I am an adult I don't want to eat mushed up baby food

MushMonster · 12/12/2022 20:52

Wales. Garden peas or mushy peas. Tartare sauce.

I’m from Essex, replace the fish with a saveloy and add plenty of salt and vinegar to the chips!

In Canada it would be served with coleslaw or caesar salad, and a wedge of lemon. And ketchup offered for the fries.
