Bonkers Conspiracy Theories

Well, they're all bonkers, to be fair.

Which conspiracy theories do you think are the most ludicrous?
That there is a microchip in the Covid vaccine seems to me to be one of the strangest.

Denver Airport's Blucifer (as locals know the massive horse) is brilliant. Why a blue horse? Why the red eyes? He's totally BU.

The sculptor was unfortunately killed as the horse fell on him which adds to the mystique.

Bonkers Conspiracy Theories
squashedalmondcroissant · 01/12/2022 18:18

I find the 'birds aren't real' very entertaining but thoroughly bonkers 😂

Pretty sure I've also heard a theory that Katy Perry is actually a different person that was kidnapped/went missing as a child and somehow ended up as Katy Perry. Also that Elizabeth the first was actually a man and that's why she never married or had children.

Birds aren't real isn't a real conspiracy theory. It was started by American Uni student to mock the spread of stupid conspiracy theories. If it was thought to be as one of the conspiracy theories, they have achieved their goal, it really says people believe anything.

TheShellBeach · 02/12/2022 13:45

I've never heard of some of these.
I must get online more.

The Queen Elizabeth one makes no sense. Male heirs were far more valued than a female one at the time. Everyone, including her poor mother, would have shouted it from the roof tops. Not to mention the fact that there was no such thing as privacy at the time. It would have been impossible to conceal.

The theory goes that the real Elizabeth I died in her youth and was replaced hastily by a young local boy.

Makes no sense at all, but it’s out there.

The Flat Earth Society is not a conspiracy theory, it's a debating society. It was founded on the premise that just about anyone can debate something that they firmly believe in, but a truly skilled debater should be able to debate in favour of any argument, even one they consider nonsense. The clincher is that if you admit that you actually think the position you are supporting is ridiculous then you have effectively lost the debate. So FES members can never admit they know Flat Earth theory is a load of nonsense.

Where it gets really funny is that there is no way of telling whether someone who claims to support Flat Earth theory is just playing the debating society's game or if they are actually stupid convinced the earth is flat. Where it gets hilarious is watching people get all bent out of shape arguing with Flat Earthers. Is wasting time and energy trying to persuade someone that the Earth is (roughly) a sphere really much less daft than claiming it's flat?

Genevieva · 02/12/2022 16:28

@WalkingThroughTreacle Just looked it up. I'll be honest, I did't realise that flat Earthers existed at all - whether parody or real. Well not since the time of Galileo. But assuming your explanation is correct, their website is hilariously serious. It is an exercise in method acting. They can never be out of character.

CannonCaboodle · 02/12/2022 16:33

That Adele and Sam Smith are the same person! Bonkers!

Why a boy instead of a girl?

Honestly, these conspiracy theorists have no common sense.

I know a flat earther, absolutely convinced there is an ice wall around the edge, apparently heavily guarded( by who? )

icebearforpresident · 02/12/2022 19:13

Finland isn’t a real country. Even the people who live there are being duped apparently.

I don’t know all the details on the theory but it’s my favourite for pure bat- shit stupidity.

Some dude I work with won’t drink tap water, he says it’s got poison in it that the government put in the water to dumb down the population 🤦‍♀️

So instead of a healthy hydrating drink of water he will sit their drinking energy drinks and cola … real healthy huh?🤨

Have you asked him where the water contained in his drinks come from ?
Really freak him out 😂

Seems a bit cruel, he might then resort to drinking water out of puddles outside 🤣

Genevieva · 02/12/2022 19:45

@barskits This is an old one because men couldn't believe that the best leader our country ever had was a woman.

We went back another 5 times.

Or, did they? 😉

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 02/12/2022 20:45

Also that Elizabeth the first was actually a man and that's why she never married or had children

The most plausible explanation for that is twofold. One, that she was traumatised by learning about the execution of Anne Boleyn and being aware of that of Catherine Howard when she was eight - as one writer put it, she internalised that if you submit sexually to a man he kills you.

The other is that by not marrying she had a very useful and long running diplomatic ruse to keep suitors interested and thinking that she might marry one of them.

Nothing to do with her being a man. If she was she'd have succeeded to the throne before her brother.

Ooh, I'd forgotten the American one which QAnon believe in so fervently - that there are tunnels under the White House, where the Democrats keep stolen babies so that they can extract adenochrome from their blood.

Not only are the tunnels under the White House, but they are all over the world with a secret war going on in the tunnels between secret Deep Underground Military Bunkers (DUMBs) ….. they will also describe them with the acronym !

When the EverGiven ran aground it was deliberate to allow the secret army’s to fly in and rescue the adenochrome children from containers - but they can’t explain how the helicopters flew in without being spotted by the worlds media watching it constantly

I must admit with the hype around it all , knowledge has extended far and wide.
