I've got DD:
Christmas bedspread
Julia Donaldson book advent
Wooden keepsake advent
Elf on the shelf activities book
Little Miss Christmas book
Reindeer headband
Christmas PJs

Baby DS has got a white chocolate calender, a wooden keepsake advent and PJs.

We have a 1st December 'launch' of Xmas but it's generally just getting out the stuff we already have:

Xmas duvets on
Xmas cushions out
Xmas tablecloth
Bowls, plates and mugs

This year they both have new elf slippers as theirs are too small and it's cold! I've also got a couple of Xmas onesies from Vinted.

They get these on 1st Dec so they get more wear out of them!

This must be a wind up.
Surely nobody does a December 1st box.

But that's the response you're wanting so I'm not going to bite.
Instead I'll say 24 Faberge eggs (one for each day of Advent), a pile of handmade Christmas pyjamas crafted from gold thread; three French hens; two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.

Oh yes.. that’s what we did last year for our baby’s first Christmas

this year it’s Bentleys. One for every day or December

what a load of shite! Who the F does a Christmas 1st box, got to be a wind up.

That’s so sad, just relax and enjoy it!

They are enjoying it, I would say the people sat refusing to talk or listen to others talk excitedly about their experience seem more like they're not enjoying it.

The elf’s head in a box. End it now.

Ooh yes, do a Se7en inspired one - "what's in the boxxx??"

minipie · 24/11/2022 19:24

Thank god for all the “you what” responses 😂

DollyDoofer · 24/11/2022 19:25

I much prefer it as it then means they get lots of wear out of the PJ's through December

As opposed to receiving PJ’s for Christmas that they can wear throughout the year you mean?? 🤔

Ems369 · 24/11/2022 19:30

They get Christmas PJ's and my husband will only let them wear them in December 😂

Ah.. ok… I’m sure he’ll wise up 🙄😬

Aug12 · 24/11/2022 19:34

I don’t do a box as we do a Xmas eve one instead but I give mine an advent calendar and advent candle, letter sets to write wish lists (home bargains) and a pack of Xmas cards so they can write some to family/friends if they wish

Sorry I haven't read the full thread (which I do do usually). But I was so taken aback by your thread @TinyPhotoFrames that I searched your name to see if you are genuine.

You only have one other thread, which is about being poor Shock

... and yet here you are starting a thread about buying even more stuff for your DC.

Bizarre Confused

Nothing about my previous thread suggests I'm poor.
I live in a village that has been repeatedly expanded by new build estates. So I live on a new estate meaning there isn't a close town etc. The nearest town is down and out. That doesn't mean I am! I asked about free things as I was on maternity leave. I'm not now 🤷🏻‍♀️

No wonder the planet is fucked. Breeding over-consumers.

Jjones8 · 24/11/2022 19:41

I don’t know anyone who does this. Never heard of it. Where does this idea come from?

RoseAndRose · 24/11/2022 19:43

You mean they don't get to wear them right up to Twelfth Night!?

LittIe · 24/11/2022 19:44

*Nothing in my previous thread suggests I’m poor”

Two months ago, you started a thread called “Being poor is” and posted about being poor.

BorisJohnsonsHair · 24/11/2022 19:45

maddiemookins16mum · 24/11/2022 17:48

All the posters on here ‘you what? etc’ they all know exactly what they are.
It’s just an excuse to be superior and go on about the environment.
I do an Advent calendar, but DD is 17 now.
Hope your wain likes it all 😊

I genuinely had no idea what this was and had to Google it. Still think it's ridiculous and unnecessary.

Nillynally · 24/11/2022 19:45

Oh behave

Charlavail · 24/11/2022 19:50

I give DD stuff on December 1st like Christmas Pjs and maybe a bow or something for school so she gets more use out of it.
Oh and Christmas bedding.

HangerLaneGyratorySystem · 24/11/2022 19:50

Is Nethuns still going? Asking for a friend ...

Chikapu · 24/11/2022 19:52

That other thread certainly makes it sound like you're poor OP so that's where and how you've suggested it.

Duckskitbank · 24/11/2022 19:52

Our children ‘find’ the Christmas stuff in a basket on the 1st. It contains advent calendars and then the Christmas books, games, mugs, etc which we reuse every year.
I don’t do Christmas specific clothes or bedding because a month isn’t long enough to get good use out of it.

Gazelda · 24/11/2022 19:53

Honestly OP, you don't need to do a Dec 1st box. In fact, you'd be crackers to do one.
Your DC won't notice. You'll save money. You'll save landfill.

mathanxiety · 24/11/2022 19:58

@maddiemookins16mum

No, I have never heard of a December 1st box, and until running across the Christmas Eve box thing here I had never heard of that either.

chikp · 24/11/2022 20:00

Advent candle

Jb2182 · 24/11/2022 20:00

The biggest question though..... What does everyone put in their December 2nd box??????

chikp · 24/11/2022 20:00

chikp · 24/11/2022 20:00

Advent candle

It's not in a box though
