Who else has this fucking horrible coughing virus thing.

Aaaarrrgggh.

I've basically been coughing for 5 days, day and night. Lost my voice, sore throat, head/neck/ear ache.

Multiple negative covid tests. About 5 other people I know have had this and it's gone on for 2-3 weeks.

I'm going insane. Coughing so much that I'm gagging.

The coughing is endless I'm actually wetting myself now with these coughing fits I've had it for weeks and no signs of going
Has anyone found anything that actually helps/ soothes the cough?
I'm drinking ginger lemon tea, warm water with honey and lemon, loads of lozenges and dh bought me a bottle of bronchostop mixture this evening but I'm hesitant to try it not keen on cough mixtures unless anyone can tell me they actually work!!

I’ve had it for over a week now, I keep think I’ll wake up and it will be gone, but it’s still lingering on. Although my worst day was four days ago. I’ve taken a few Covid tests but all negative.

Week 8 now of recurring coughing/bronchitis and now adding on sinusitis to the list.

I had it in September. Never coughed so much in my life .... really grim. But tested for covid every day for 2 weeks, all negative. It was vile (and then DH caught it and we started again!). It goes eventually, but I sympathise.

I had it three weeks ago and ive finally got rid of the cough.I'm still very congested though!

DH and I are on week 2 of it and it's doing my head in! Doesn't help being 36 weeks pregnant 😭

I had this for about 4 weeks in Aug it was horrendous. My son also had it and a friend of mine currently has it. Coughed so much I was wrenching.

Yes, I'm on week 2 of this awful cough. I've had to stock up on tena pads. The cough is awful, and the more I panic and want it to stop, the worse the coughing fit is.

Thickly cough for about a week now, sore throat has kicked in today. Very, very annoying.

I had a really sore throat on Saturday, coughing a lot that night then turned into a cold from then with a horrible cough, which is worse at night.

I’m cold right now but daren’t out my heating in so will go up to bed with my electric blanket on soon.

I had covid in august and it doesn’t feel like that.

Oh my goodness, reading through this thread my symptoms are all the same - I’ve had it almost 2 weeks now and it’s absolutely awful. I hardly ever get ill, despite having 4 children who get the normal bugs from school but this has really floored me. I can’t sleep for coughing and I wretch I’m coughing so much. Tested negative for Covid and I’ve never had Covid as far as I’m aware. Can’t wait for it to end, DH is sleeping in the spare room so that I don’t keep him awake all night too. Just as I thought I was starting to feel slightly better over the weekend I have felt worse again today!

I take it all back. I finally tested positive for Covid today on about day 7.

Me - had to go to A&E for ear infections too 😢

Been coughing horribly for about 10 days now, a really violent chesty cough but not bringing much up which I think would help. I'm pregnant and got refused service at the pharmacy for any cough remedies! It's kind of reassuring that others are experiencing the same though, hope everyone recovers soon. Covid negative but DH tested positive about 9 days before my symptom started, different symptoms though 🤔

I've just come out of the other side of this, 3 weeks of misery. Only tested positive for Covid about 10 days in, before that all negative. It was by far the worst time I've had it (had it twice before, and all jabs) - felt absolutely horrific. I've pulled a muscle in my chest from all the coughing so I'm still in pain even now I'm not actually ill!

I’m on week 7 of this bloody cough now, which had started as a head cold. Tested repeatedly for Covid, negative each time.

I actually feel fine, but am fed up with coughing my guts up, wetting myself if I get a coughing fit and haven’t been to the loo (sorry for TMI!) and just having to constantly cough stuff up or blow it out. It’s clear phlegm, so I don’t think there’s any infection and therefore I’ve not bothered the doctor.

I have tried bronchostop as recommended by the pharmacist, but back to try something else tomorrow. Am so fed up with the lack of sleep as I often wake to cough. And just the pain from coughing.

My DH and DS have it. My DS coughed for nearly two hours the other night. It's really awful!

I wet myself at work with the bloody coughing. Pelvic floor isn't great anyway, but I was having to go every hour or I'd lose it.
I posted this earlier in the thread but the only cough mixture that works for me is pholcodine, I tried loads of others. Codeine stops coughing and pholcodine is similar but without the opioid side effects, though still sedative for some. Used to be codeine linctus but that isn't a thing any more I don't think.

I thought I'd got over the cough, but I was taking ibuprofen with codeine in for period pain for a few days. When I stopped the cough came back! Taking the pholcodine syrup at bedtime stops it.

I wonder if Covid is mutating into other viruses too. X

My poor little baby has it. Beung sick from coughing and can't sleep so neither can we! Hooe you all feel better soon.

I had this! Felt grim for a couple of days only, but the cough lasted for about 6 weeks. Constantly tested negative for Corona. If you can get them, I found that Iceland moss cough pastilles really helped.

Sounds like RSV virus. My 2 year old had this

DS had 3-4 weeks of it.
I started 2 weeks ago but today my voice has gone and coughing up green phlem 😔
