I love a good does this look positive thread. I don't care if it's pregnancy test or covid.

Parking threads are always interesting as well!

OP posts:

What are you up to thread (thanks lucysmam)

also like home organisation type of threads and can resist a good conflict thread (family type ones )

Cuppasoupmonster · 13/11/2022 18:15

Love the ‘live labour’ threads. So emotional rooting for the OP! I’m always on tenterhooks, waiting for the happy news and a few gory details!

Also the general ‘AIBU’ ones with interactions with utterly bonkers members of the public.

Sparklingbrook · 13/11/2022 18:17

Driving threads can be entertaining. The OP is always in the wrong whatever the scenario and gets told they shouldn't be on the road. Every single time.

The learn to drive or not are less so. Everyone gets very defensive about their own particular transport situation.

Topgub · 13/11/2022 18:18

I like a debate, something mumsnet is distinctly lacking.

So anything with 2 clear opposing sides.

I like gender politics /politics

I like telly addicts too.

There's always debates going on, on here-is it the subject matter that's lacking for you?

Debates with 2 clear opposing sides-

How often you wash towels
Shoes on or off in the house
Reclining your seat on an airplane
Saving tables in cafes
Whether driving is an essential skill
Eating food in the supermarket before paying for it
Answering the door if the doorbell rings

And today whether you should let the dog lick the plates before they go in the dishwasher or whether you should wear knickers under pyjamas.

Grin

@Sparklingbrook I agree there's also one on bleach and kitchen scissors.

Loads of debates

I saw the bleach one (yuck) was the kitchen scissors one about cutting the pizza? I do that. Grin

Lunificent · 13/11/2022 18:33

Anything that might have a juicy update e.g. parking threads.

Yes. Part of a wider discussion about using the scissors to open the packet and then cutting the pizza without cleaning.

I have never known a parking thread with a juicy update. They either fizzle out or 'the car has gone'.

Maybe let the dog lick the scissors after?

Ones that don’t get deleted for no obvious reason 🍆

I'll have to get some snacks before reading that there's 10 pages of debate about pizza scissors?

flingingmelon · 13/11/2022 18:38

I like a nice Madeira Classic viscose 40's embroidery thread.

misses point of thread

People felt very strongly!

brighterthanthemoon · 13/11/2022 18:42

I also like a CF thread where actually the OP is the CF. They are quite rare though.

Topgub · 13/11/2022 18:43

I meant an actual debate area, where its defined as a debate

Folk get all personally offended and annoyed especially if they think you're not being 'supportive'

@Sparklingbrook

Sparklingbrook · 13/11/2022 18:46

Suggest one to MNHQ

@Topgub

Topgub · 13/11/2022 18:50

I'm not sure anyone else would be interested lol

Rogue1001MNer · 13/11/2022 18:51

I do like a flouncer.

And I like worst/best where people share stories.

And threads that make me laugh

Tartifletti · 13/11/2022 18:51

Quite like the ones about the nice things kids do/ nice things parents do.

(Rare) threads where someone is contemplating a really unwise life choice and seems to get talked out of it.

Migoodness · 13/11/2022 18:52

Live labours.
Those which are humorous: just discovered what my husband did on his day off + trading in husband (washing machine) for a new model.

To debate what? I think most things have a section?
