Nostalgic Adverts

Just added to a thread about discontinued confectionery. Made me think about adverts that stick in your mind. What nostalgic adverts do you remember well?

I'd like to teach the world to sing...

The 1980's John Smiths adverts, they were genius & all set to Stop the Cavalry's melody!

The BT Pagers ad - set to Santana's She's Not There.....So clever & funny!

I could go on & on.......

Castella Cigar ad's with Russ Abbott in em all, they were hilarious! 😁

Early 80s, hazy memories but it's always driven me mad trying to find out what it was for:

Product was some sort of chewy sweet, I think long and flat like the later Refresher bars. Bar was either green or possibly rainbow coloured. The advert (I think) featured a bored boy at a wedding, who started to eat this chewy sweet bar in an attempt to liven things up.

Does anyone remember this?!?!

Red car and the blue car had a race!

all because the lady loves milk tray. Teen DS has an all-black polo top outfit and DH says this when he walks into the room, DS just looks puzzled!

I think the Milky Way one went something like:

The red car and the blue car had a race
All Red wants to do is stuff his face
He eats everything he sees, from trucks to prickly trees
But good old Blue, he took the Milky Way

I loved the Kit-Kat one with the photographer and dancing/rollerskating pandas.

Does anyone remember the ad for Rowntrees Mega Beans from early 00s? The voice was kinda robotic and it used to say "Oingy boingy beans!". I had a baby (house) rabbit at the time who used to bounce round doing binkies at that ad. I changed it to "oingy boingy bun" which used to set her off too 😃

"Give us another rub down wi' that chip fat!".

That freakisly weird Ribena ad from about 7 years ago.

Ad for a brand of trainers. "Belly's gonna get ya, belly's gonna get ya! BELLY BELLY BELLY!". Creepy AF!

I often get an earworm that goes,

Nobody remembers it.

There was also one that had a class photo with a very short boy at the back who ate a sausage roll and floated up to the top of the picture! It must’ve been for some sort of baking fat - “Give us a lift with…..?”
