For me, I would buy the Jo Malone advent calendar - i have just managed to get the Molton Brown one for my main christmas present for £166 ( will be doing all the opening on the day, not the lead up )

But cannot justify £350 on a present for myself.

What would you buy?

If it's for treats, not mending the leaky roof (again..) rose bushes and a rose trellis, a Leaf car, and a new carpet. This one is 23 years old and down to the canvas in patches.

id use a milk man

for milk delivery services obviously. Not in a pat mustard way.

He could put his massive tool in your box!

😂😂😂

I love lists. A while ago I made a list of what I'd like to do if I won the lottery (small scale - not euros) and then looked at that list to see what I could achieve/work towards achieving on my more limited budget.

We now have a cleaner 2hrs a week, and I have swimming lessons once a week.
Small steps towards the dream. I am much happier.

Still have a long list though 😆

Regular massage and a yoga/Pilates instructor.

Yes, perfect! A personal one, aswell 😅

cassiatwenty · 08/11/2022 15:14

@Thatsshallot1967 Brilliant! I have...erm....never thought of this, not even once🤐

PositiveLife · 08/11/2022 15:20

Someone to do the cooking/cleaning/laundry.

Some of the expensive candles that get recommended on here.

Natsku · 08/11/2022 16:05

Thought of another one - an electric fat bike so I can get about on a bike during the winter too (I don't dare with a normal bike on snow and ice, even with winter tyres, but fat bikes are supposed to be good in those conditions), with a child seat on the back so I can take DS to nursery.

DinosApple · 08/11/2022 16:24

I'd like to go travel a bit with the kids before they are adults (they're young teens). Specifically Italy and India.

Back home I'd like a tidier upper, declutterer, cleaner and cook! 😆

Chloefairydust · 08/11/2022 17:02

Regular meals out, regular weekends away, a cleaner, I would probably pay for my hairdressers to do a blow dry on my hair twice a week, more expensive skincare products … And maybe 3 big holidays a year, I would absolutely love to travel more…. Disappears off to pick some lottery numbers

pyjamafashionista · 08/11/2022 17:09

A mini face lift!

Out of my reach :
Someone to teach me how to do my make up
New mattress and pillows
A fresh bouquet of flowers and door wreaths every month

In my wildest dreams:
Traveling 1st class -anywhere
A swimming pool complex with changing room and shower
An animal sanctuary where every animal could live out their life with love and comfort

Lovely account for make up tutorials

Some personal training sessions. I eat reasonably healthy but I am absolutely crap at going to the gym and exercise in general. I try and go to classes when I've got time but generally I need someone to stand over me and make me do the work Blush

I've also got a thing for handbags and would love a hardcore little collection of designer classics. Could probably stretch to buying one of the few I really covet but can't really justify blowing our savings on that..

I'd also love some really classy hand soap in my bathroom/toilet. Some nice Aesop, Jo Naline or Diptyque. And an impressive candle on display that I actually light every now and then. And posh reed diffusers..

I could go on Blush Id love to have lots of money to just splash on gorgeous things. Materialistic I know but I do actually fantasise about this.

ChickinBell · 08/11/2022 19:45

@FartOutLoudDay , aw thank you so much, I really appreciate it as I look like aunt Sally when I try

Brigante9 · 08/11/2022 19:47

Definitely the medical MOT a pp mentioned. I think I have a hernia.

I’d love a cleaner.

Someone in America just won something like the equivalent to £1.6 BILLION. Why would you not put a limit on that and split the winnings between say 20 people?! Bonkers.

I want an ooni, but DP thinks they are gimmicky and a waste of money, so am never sure whether to buy one. Definitely would if I had lots of spare cash though!

Personally I love mine but it's not great for the waistline. Do you have a friend with one to try?

I think I'd buy gorgeous jumpers whenever I fancied. I would them need a housekeeper to wash them properly.

caroleanboneparte · 09/11/2022 08:46

Kit out the kitchen in Emma Bridgewater and Le Cruset.

A Caribbean cruise on one of those massive ships with slides etc.

Tour all the big theme parks.

Wimbledon final ticket.

Regular reflexology.

Buy a few paintings from the local gallery.

Commission paintings of the dcs.

Frith2013 · 09/11/2022 09:07

A wind turbine and some PV cells.

vera99 · 09/11/2022 11:17

I'd spend the whole amount on new lottery tickets to show what a bad idea believing in the lottery is... you've got to be in it to lose it. ..

It's no coincidence the queues you see in your newsagent attend to be the down-at-heel, more impoverished members of society paying their tax on stupidity so I can get to see heavily subsidised opera at the ENO.

Deathraystare · 09/11/2022 11:44

If I had won enough to buy a house, I would furnish it, get a cleaner, get some cats from a shelter which I cannot do now. Would cater for my book club friends (order in some lovely food). Get stylist advice for my cruise next year. Go on more cruises! Watch more cinema/theatre. If the garden was decent and even if not I would probably go mad on plants! Have some massages. Go on a spa holiday.

Maybe buy some art work. One of my friends has art all over her flat! Go to hairdressers more regularly. Possibly have my teeth sorted out (they look like sharks teeth)

It’s a little bit of hope in an otherwise shit life.

I buy one Euromillions ticket a month. It’s the one bit of a daft dream, what if and scrolling rightmove for a bit of escapism in my damp house of the month.

I was bit tongue in a cheek and do flutter myself occasionally and regard I'm also donating 75% to good causes of various stripes. That said the scratch cards are like crack cocaine and when you see the obviously not well-off buying say 5 tickets on a big rollover week then it truly is a waste of what little money they have. I would shut the betting shops done before going for the NL now they are truly evil.

Danascully2 · 09/11/2022 12:23

I would get an electric car, preferably an aston martin or jaguar.
Also an on call handyperson type service to advise and/or fix anything that breaks around the house. Find it very stressful trying to get anything sorted. Ditto car maintenance person to come and visit.

jamontoastaddict · 09/11/2022 17:44

Olaplex shampoo

vera99 · 09/11/2022 18:01

A magic money tree or a golden goose - I would then chop down the first and eat the second.

Swissnotswiss · 09/11/2022 18:05

A nice bike. I have an old bike but it has no gears. All nice bikes get stolen round here so I'd get an expensive lock too.
