That’s it really. Total and utter twat.

@antelopevalley

Like who? I mean if it’s your first time on telly then I guess it’s a step up from nothing but BG has had number one hits and at one time was a big star - this is just him cashing in/staying in spotlight on the back of that. It’s not going to lead anywhere but more of the same.

I don’t get the big deal. Was anyone here modelling their life on Boy George before his arrest?

PollyAmour · 08/11/2022 13:50

Chris Moyles looks like a little old man. He's almost unrecognisable. I think he looked better fat.

I didn’t know how old he was so I just googled it. He’s only 48!

He has clearly got the face he deserves - like a bag of spanner’s.

Sparklingbrook · 08/11/2022 13:55

I don’t really think George’s career is going to go from strength to strength of the back of this

He’s not in there for a career boost or for the money. He needs neither.

WahineToa · 08/11/2022 13:56

Well that’s pretty dumb of them if true because if Polanski was willing to admit guilt to the charges at this point if he didn’t have to serve time that would have given his victim closure, but US authorities refused that so of course he didn’t come back and the situation continues and will continue until his death with no closure of any kind.

Right so now you’re saying the US courts are dumb not to agree with him they wouldn’t sentence him to jail if he came back. That apparently according to you, would have given the victim closure. Now you’re speaking for her aren’t you. She originally wanted him to go to prison. After decades of him hiding and evading justice, she just wanted articles to stop describing her violent sick rape and printing her name. You think that means you can deflect responsibility from Polanski onto firstly, people on this thread, and now the US prosecutors who didn’t want to be seen to be letting him get away with both pedophilia AND the separate crime of not showing up for sentencing for decades, especially after they saw him pictured with more young children in inappropriate ways. You are just a rape apologist. It’s gross. ‘ of course he didn’t come back!’ I mean really? So you’re cool with all criminals just fucking off to a foreign country until their charges are dropped or prosecutors agree to the criminal setting their own punishment? Sounds pretty mental and really dumb to me. Really dumb.

TrashyPanda · 08/11/2022 13:56

Polanski was willing to admit guilt to the charges at this point if he didn’t have to serve time

who in their right mind would ever agree to that?

im guilty but only if I don’t have to do the time?

what a total travesty.

hes a child rapist, no ,after how much you want to think it doesn’t matter because it was years ago.

and if he got away with it, what example would it send? You can rape children and get away with it if you are rich and old?

WahineToa · 08/11/2022 13:58

Another spectacularly dumb comment. People are objecting to a violent criminal being on a prime time show. I really don’t know why you’re going so hard in your defence of him. What’s in it for you?

Sparklingbrook · 08/11/2022 13:59

Why are people resorting to attacking Chris Moyles’ looks now?

@ZaSar He will die a known and admitted rapist, paedophile and fugitive of justice - he doesn't deny what he's done - who never did the right thing by his victimS nor paid his debt to society. Not only does he not deny it, he even said
"Everyone wants to fuck young girls"

He faces 5 charges of sexual assaults against children.

Can you explain why you think letting him off with his appalling crimes will bring closure to his victims?

WahineToa · 08/11/2022 14:01

@TrashyPanda it’s gross isn’t it? To blame the prosecutors for him not coming back to the US, as per the agreement and plea deal he had struck with them. He agreed to it. They dropped serious charges against him just to get this done and save the victim needing to go to trial, at 14. Then he doesn’t return and they see him pictured with more young girls and are horrified, and somehow them wanting justice and Polanski to be treated like anyone else, is a bad thing? He also had to be held accountable for failing to turn up to court, a crime in itself. But apparently they should also forget about that.

ZaSar · 08/11/2022 14:02

@TrashyPanda

From what I understand she wanted the matter closed and that would have given her a type of closure, that’s all I’m saying.
I also find it hard to believe that a 90 yo in a historical statutory rape case would be given hard time - although they may have made an example of Polanski because him publicly defying US justice has probably pissed them off.

I don’t get what people are upset about - what he did was very wrong, all I’ve said is it was so long ago and shortly after the Manson family murdered his wife and unborn child and who knows how sane or what he was on at the time as a result is all. I just don’t see the point of getting upset over it now, especially when all his movies still show, he’s won the best director Oscar since and Harrison Ford presented it to him and most people probably watched the Pianist. And his victim doesn’t even want him punished any more.

I mean what’s the point now?

WahineToa · 08/11/2022 14:04

Everyone wants to fuck young girls"

Yes, this is what he said, in more than one interview following him fleeing. So the prosecutors are meant to see him over the years talking about how he likes to fuck young girls, no remorse whatsoever, and just shrug their shoulders and agree not to sentence him to jail?? I mean what kind of justice is that? It isn’t even just about this one poor woman. When you let a pedophile off with a hideously violent rape, they are free to do it again. Justice also means keeping dangerous men away from everyone else. It isn’t just about their victims, but what they might still do. He went on to rape other children, one was just 10. How can anyone come to the thread and keep defending this knowing he went on to do it again and again?

You’re making excuses for a prolific pedophile. That makes me incredibly sick and very suspicious.

ZaSar · 08/11/2022 14:05

@TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth

I don’t know anything about any other cases or alleged crimes. But in relation to the one crime he was charged with his victim said she wanted closure and for it to be dropped - that is why I’m saying she may want closure and that could have given it to her. As it is he will certainly die abroad, famous and celebrated and untried in law - how does that help her?

WahineToa · 08/11/2022 14:06

I mean what’s the point now?

Justice.

Are you reading what people are writing? He went on to do it again. Please, please, stop what you’re doing. You’re actually are making me sick.

WahineToa · 08/11/2022 14:07

I don’t know anything about any other cases or alleged crimes

Then please be quiet and say nothing. Why are you going so far in defence of a convicted and self confessed pedophile.

Namechangedforthisonetoday · 08/11/2022 14:07

zasar You are so hard of thinking it’s painful at this point. You understand nothing about the justice system. Zilch. You have repeatedly minimised the crimes of a rapist with a bizarre defence about his past trauma and the fact that he’s elderly. Elderly people go to prison for historical crimes. Google is your friend here. I just don’t see the point of getting upset about it now . At this point I can only conclude you are being deliberately obtuse.

WahineToa · 08/11/2022 14:08

untried in law

Wrong again. How can you be so ignorant of the facts while continuing this insensitive horrible defence of him? What is the matter with you??

Namechangedforthisonetoday · 08/11/2022 14:08

wahine As my granny always said, ‘you can’t educate stupid’. Unfortunately some people are of such limited intelligence they will never understand. Don’t engage any further, I think she/he is enjoying it.

WahineToa · 08/11/2022 14:08

HE EVADED SENTENCING! Not trial or conviction! He was CONVICTED! Confessed! Wtf

WahineToa · 08/11/2022 14:09

I think she/he is enjoying it.

I think so too. How sick.

The alternative, that the poster in question is so painfully naive to the basic principles of justice and decency, is more concerning to be quite frank.

WahineToa · 08/11/2022 14:14

The first known victim from the US case, wasn’t that supportive of the first French actress, Monnier. to accuse him of rape:

Taking heat for not being more supportive of accusers who use film release dates to schedule their revelations with the press & sat silently while I was called a liar & a gold digging whore in 1977 knowing they may have prevented it, if they had the truth & my mom’s courage.”

That was tweeted in 2019. So all this talk of not speaking about it for her is a little misplaced. She still talks about him and his abuse.

ZaSar · 08/11/2022 14:21

@category12

Im not trolling at all. My Boyfriend and I have been watching old horror movies (Rosemarys baby came up) and then watched a bunch more Polanski films like Chinatown and a later one filmed in his exile with Johnny Depp and I watched some stuff about his life and the Manson murder of Sharon Tate and his child (it was horrible).

I just don’t see the point, after all the time that’s past and he’s seemingly been celebrated in the US aside from by the justice department of punishing him now, especially given what happened to him around that time. Hasn’t the universe punished him enough already?
