For me, nothing yesterday and today a taxi into town in the rain £8, and a dumpling lunch for me and dd £25.
Dd bought me two face masks for £1.60.

Pondering spending some birthday money online this evening on art materials.

@OrangePumpkinLobelia
I just though the exact same thing.

I have bought stuff for my business and clients Xmas £95

Food for family in Tesco £60

Food in Morrisons £30

B and M household stuff £30

Oh I did buy a hot coffee while waiting for washing to dry at launderette £2.70

So a grand total of £2.70 on myself

I try not to spend on weekends, but sometimes fail. I went out to buy orchid food/fertilizer and came home with two more orchids, 3 orchid pots and two kinds of fertilizer. I live in Florida, so it was $74. I need more orchids like I need a hole in my head, but it’s a real addiction.

OrangePomander · 23/10/2022 17:01

Two knitted winter dresses bought online, to see which, if any, looks ok.

Cleopatra67 · 23/10/2022 17:07

My sister was staying and I wandered into chichi boutique and spent £130 on a pair of loafers and £80 on a very plain grey v neck top. Not quite sure what came over me!

TheChosenTwo · 23/10/2022 17:11

@OrangePumpkinLobelia I thought that too and I was really careful to specify what I’d bought that counted as a personal spend and what I’d paid for but out of the joint account as not at all personally for me!
I’m not someone who struggles to spend money on themselves in general though, if I want it and can afford it, I’m having it. I work hard (like everyone else) and deserve to be able to buy myself things alongside everyone else in the family having things. I’m no less deserving!!!
Of course, if I couldn’t afford it I wouldn’t be spending it in the first place.
@bigbluebus 💐 for you too. Tough day for you I can imagine. Sending love and hugs.

Plants
Pillows

Nosleepforthismum · 23/10/2022 17:15

My DH treated me to a very posh (£91) Sunday lunch because I’ve had a bit of a crappy week. No regrets at all and currently lying on the sofa in a part food coma.

TheRealShedSadie · 23/10/2022 17:15

Yesterday a belt £2 and an autumn wreath £10 which I’m going to fancy up with dried bits from the garden

Today a jigsaw and a Christmas trinket from a brik a brak stall, both for DD

GiantKitten · 23/10/2022 17:18

A second hand pony book and tickets for Museum of the Moon next week.

poorbuthappy · 23/10/2022 17:20

Maccys for kids. Bottle of fizz for me.

Cantthinkofanewnameatm · 23/10/2022 17:21

A tray of dog food for DDog ( £25 on offer)
Tube of hand cream for me (£3.99 bogoff) the spare will go as a Xmas gift or to the local food bank.

Niftythrifter · 23/10/2022 17:31

Mint Velvet jumper from a local charity shop
Topshop glittery tights from a local charity shop

Pendant from a local charity shop

The White Company leather bracelet from a local charity shop

Large knitted throw from M&S final clearance

Zara new with tags blouse from a local charity shop. It’s lovely and what I have been searching for a while in terms of a vintage Victoriana aesthetic.

River Island plaid skirt from the clearance rail at my local charity shop

ChocAuVin · 23/10/2022 17:35

A box of 6 doughnuts for a new mum.
A book for my old boss who has agreed to be my mentor.
Some dairy free chocolate for DD.
Some foundation for me.

BlackaddersCodpiece · 23/10/2022 17:36

@PuttingDownRoots - definitely for the car! Although a carbon fibre frilly hat could also be a look I guess!

XAQ · 23/10/2022 17:37

Yesterday took DC and their partner out for lunch, train ticket and a bottle of wine.

Today. Booked a cruise for my DP's birthday present. Don't think I'll be able to keep the excitement in!

Themadcatparade · 23/10/2022 17:39

Nothing yet but I have bamboo toothbrushes in my Amazon basket

HotMummaSummer · 23/10/2022 17:40

Lunch out yesterday with my kids, hubby and parents, then my parents paid for brunch this morning. So all food and drink 🙈

kitcat15 · 23/10/2022 17:46

I actually haven't spent a penny Friday, Saturday or today...been at my mums and she paid for lunch out and coffee and also put petrol in my car....I'm back home now and out walking dog with one of GD but all shops shut so won't be spending

mac1974 · 23/10/2022 17:46

We've been trying to be really sensible with our spending but this weekend went totally wrong. Drinks on Friday in a pub £80...it was a family event so we were buying drinks for other people too, hangover brekkie yesterday £40ish, lunch out today £40 & a trip to sea life £70. I think I'm in school holiday mode. Will need to rein it it but it's been fun.

Sgtmajormummy · 23/10/2022 17:49

Some Sashiko thread. €3.
I have a project that’s simmering on the back burner of my brain to use the gorgeous handwoven Donegal Tweed scraps I bought 10? years ago.

I also spent some time picking through my fabric stash to find some pieces and make a tuffet/giant fabric pumpkin. So not a direct spend but my stash is worth €€€!

VioletCharlotte · 23/10/2022 17:49

I bought some pjs and snuggly socks from Asda for myself, some candles and a pack of steam eye masks. Feeling in need of self care this weekend. About £3O in total.

Oh, and some chocolate!

Lottiesandjackmummy · 23/10/2022 17:50

Some face cream from the new Boots range for Menopausal women and a deep mask for hair. I feel that I have been neglecting myself lately and a friend from years ago invited me out for dinner at a nice restaurant and I looked in the mirror and looked years old. Couldn’t really afford to spend £35 on a face cream but I’m hoping it will help feel a bit better about going thru the menopause.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 23/10/2022 17:51

Car parking at parkrun yesterday morning (my usual one is free)
Bar of chocolate when I filled up the car with fuel (shared car with DH, I just happened to be using it)

Umm, I think that's it.

DH has made several trips to Sainsburys for food and drink but that doesn't count.

Wordwatcher · 23/10/2022 17:54

@bigbluebus
2 bunches of flowers for DDs grave. She would have been 28 today.

So very sorry, that’s heartbreaking xx

Lemoncurd · 23/10/2022 18:03

Husband ill so have been holed up at home most of the weekend. Wandered into town yesterday and teen chose a jigsaw to do over half term - £5 (spent ages deliberating over the best value one!).
Popped into Waitrose on the way back and spent about £4 on fruit & veg.
