For me, nothing yesterday and today a taxi into town in the rain £8, and a dumpling lunch for me and dd £25.
Dd bought me two face masks for £1.60.

Pondering spending some birthday money online this evening on art materials.

OP posts:

I bought myself my first ever cordless iron from Curry’s on Friday. The stress caused by the knotted up wire on my old one was taking years off me. Ironing is now a blissful affair.

Wiglio · 23/10/2022 16:33

Just under £70, Waitrose, food, wine, toothpaste and washing up liquid.
nothing else

YorkieTheRabbit · 23/10/2022 16:33

@OrangePumpkinLobelia I very rarely buy magazines. I used to have a GH subscription but got bored of them, each year was the same, January diet/health February always valentines stuff March Mother’s Day overload etc but I do like the Christmas ones, gift ideas and some nice decorations, fashion and food but I slipped up with this just being all food. There is a nice recipe for a chocolate cherry Christmas cake though 😊

ParkheadParadise · 23/10/2022 16:34

Oldraver · 23/10/2022 16:34

None this actual weekend, though my Christmas hoody arrived yesterday

NortieTortie · 23/10/2022 16:34

Around £60 on pub meal and drinks for my hen do. £30 on taxis. £30 for tickets for our main event. £20 on cafe sandwiches for me, dh-to-be and dc.

TicTacTop · 23/10/2022 16:34

2 new umbrellas - £28. Didn't really want to spend so much on umbrellas but I'm fed up of the cheap ones breaking in the slightest bit of wind!
2 pairs of Better Tights after seeing them recommended on S&B - £17.50 incl. postage
Reusable water bottle - £20
Satin-style matching pyjamas to make me feel like I have my life together - £35

Alarae · 23/10/2022 16:34

£7 for DD's first cinema trip to see Hey Duggee.
£4.99 for her lunch at John Lewis, I had two free slices of cake from my loyalty card (shared with DH at home!)
£14 on a bunch of clearance clothes to put away for DD.

Did wander in to Primark with the intention to pick up some basic leggings/vest tops but DD was very cranky so swiftly left without getting anything!

Off eBay:
£13.35 on a Ted Baker maxi dress
£15.02 on a Ted Baker jumper
£2.99 on a Ted Baker denim shirt

£8 today in Sainsbury's for a belt as my jeans keep falling down but refuse to buy anymore (hoping these can last through the next size and I'll buy another pair two sizes down instead)

I like the quality of Ted Baker clothes but not the price, so I am picking bits and pieces up off eBay as I see anything of interest.

Foolsandtheirmoney · 23/10/2022 16:35

I bought a laptop because mine is broken and needed upgrading anyway. I bought it online yesterday and then got an email today to me it isn't in stock so they are refunding my money. I can't find another laptop with similar specs for the same price so nothing. I was really looking forward to a shiny new laptop as well.

AlwaysLatte · 23/10/2022 16:40

A lovely long green pleated animal print skirt, a dog walking bag from Coco Pup and an Autumn pine light garland for the kitchen, also a Lego Christmas village scene that we can all do as a family at Christmas.

Cliffordthebigreddog · 23/10/2022 16:41

home bargains for essential toiletries /cleaning products £14.02
matalan - pair of tights £3.50
m&s - nice food for tea plus a few other bits £35.83

MrsMontyD · 23/10/2022 16:42

Had my haircut, £26, ordered lunch today (recovering from major surgery so why not) £15, ordered some Christmas cards online about £10. Think that was about it. No, also bought myself a new bag I didn't need for about £38, I'm calling it an early birthday present.

Today, £8 on protein powder
Yesterday, M&S snacks for me and kids (£8), a £6 bauble and a £5 crystal

ComeonoverValerie · 23/10/2022 16:50

A day at the farm cost us £70 this weekend. All the added extras were about £20. That's a family of four.

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler · 23/10/2022 16:51

£60 on helix piercing plus the earring on Friday. That’s it.

StarryKnight · 23/10/2022 16:54

This to try and organise the childrens hospital paperwork - the 2 smallest both have ASD and along with the associated appointments and reports I’m drowning in bits of paper that I have to keep

What personal spends did you make this weekend?
OrangePumpkinLobelia · 23/10/2022 16:55

I find it so telling that the OP is asking about personal spend and people are replying about what they spend on the family and particularly the children.

I think it just screams that women and mothers are so used to thinking aboiut the family and others that they simply do not compute a 'personal' spend. I am the same.

Aspergirl77 · 23/10/2022 16:57

Spent zero this weekend as since Friday been as laid up in agony with a wisdom tooth infection (by agony I mean worse than being in labour with no pain relief!). Thankfully the antibiotics are starting to work and pain has begun to subside.

PuttingDownRoots · 23/10/2022 16:59

BlackaddersCodpiece · 23/10/2022 16:46
