Tell me why you've had to end a friendship

Even if it was small one.

Long friendship based on mutual support, but the scales were weighing heavily towards her. After a few months where I'd been a bit off the radar, she sent me a Massive fb messenger rant about her (predominantly self-inflicted) problems - drug taking and alcohol impacting on her kid, her health, threats from her ex and ss to take the kid away, hcp's refusing to engage until she cut back the booze and started some sort of drug treatment. Home at risk etc.

Told her my dp had been diagnosed with cancer. Her response was 'so life is a bit shit for you too then'.

I never messaged back.

Friendship from school days ended in our 50's. I just got sick of her not turning up when she said she would.

She didn't call or text to let me know.

Last time I found out that some guy had turned up earlier in the day and she went out with him. She didn't reply to any of my messages asking if she was still coming.

Bye bye. I still think of her often but I am not a doormat.
