Team cake here. I'm also counting brownies as cake. Cake goes with everything.

Donughts. The old school sugary jam ones, none of your sickly Krispy Kreme rubbish.

100% agree

CeeceeBloomingdale · 21/10/2022 19:22

The only answer is cake

RunningFromInsanity · 21/10/2022 19:22

Brownies (but they aren’t cake)

Cake.

Because you get more.

Floralnomad · 21/10/2022 19:27

I prefer a proper biscuit ( not a cookie ) then cake and donuts would be least fave .

FishFingerSandwiches4Tea · 21/10/2022 19:30

Cake!!

Bemyclementine · 21/10/2022 19:32

Cake. Unless the donuts are hot seaside ones.

CaramelJones · 21/10/2022 19:33

Chocolate Brownies , they improve after a couple of days but IMO should not be eaten within 24 hours of cooking - otherwise it's just 'cake' not 'brownie'

Yes I'm glaring at you Nigella eating your brownies straight out of the oven and so raw squidgey they need a straw not a spoon

But surely brownies should be soft and squidgy? The more dry they are, the more cake like they are and cakey brownies are just wrong.

Also who are these people who have the willpower to wait a whole day to eat freshly baked brownies? They can't be mere mortals.

Cake. Especially tea cake - not those toasted muffiny things but a white fruit cake. Or lemon cake. Or cherry cake. Or coffee cake. So many to choose from.

Then biscuits NOT American-style cookie things. Gingernuts that are slightly chewy in the middle... yum. Chewy oaty biscuits. Garibaldis.

Then fresh donuts with cinnamon & sugar.

Way, way, waaaay down the list are possibly cookies. And iced donuts should be put in the bin.

DeanStockwelll · 21/10/2022 19:38

I haven't got a particularly Sweet Tooth but cake would be the first on my list particularly as@CaramelJones is allowing brownies.
The one treat that I used to have every Friday before covid was to call in the Nero's and get a double expresso and a brownie it was my time of a little bit of peace and quiet before the shit storm that we always had on Friday.
I also like Christmas cake .
Can we include Eccles cake and malt loaf ? Thick sliced malt loaf tosted and cover in butter is hot sticky goodness

pantherrose · 21/10/2022 19:39

Oh cake every time! Particularly Victoria spongeCake

MoggyMittens23 · 21/10/2022 19:55

Cookies - no way would they come over the other two for me, although still good of course!

Love cake.

Doughnuts are definitely my favourite and it would be a sad life without them. so DOUGHNUTS!!!!!!

scrivette · 21/10/2022 19:57

Cake - but only home made cake

mrsmarmalade12 · 21/10/2022 19:59

Doughnut if they are ring ones

ToootToot · 21/10/2022 20:04

Leakingroofagain · 21/10/2022 19:18

A good voodoo donut is pretty amazing.

We were eating these just two weeks ago, heaven!

There’s enough space in my life and belly for cakes, cookies, and doughnuts. I don’t discriminate.

Davros · 21/10/2022 20:05

Cake
Biscuits (not cookies or those muffins)
Doughnuts or iced bun and it's friends

StopFeckingFaffing · 21/10/2022 20:08

Cake 100%

No donuts or cookies can compare with a really good cake

CaramelJones · 21/10/2022 20:11

I'm glad to see so many people on Team Cake.

These are the Queen of Cookies.

simonthedog · 21/10/2022 20:17

cake

DeliberatelyObtuse · 21/10/2022 20:18

What about pastries???

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 21/10/2022 20:19

Toast. Nothing beats toast.

notprincehamlet · 21/10/2022 20:19

Cake. The answer is always cake! Not a huge fan of brownies though, don't really like cookies, used to enjoy a raspberry donut (or an apple one) every now and again.

HeadNorth · 21/10/2022 20:19

Cake forever
