I think it's been a massive fuck up since Boris got in, politics has become a joke, unfortunately at the country's expense

I feel it began slightly before that. It went wrong when they bullied Theresa May out of Office. Boris could have made it better if he had acted with dignity and humility unfortunately, that was not likely and it all unraveled from there....

Trinidading3 · 20/10/2022 14:33

FFS Dishy Rishi should be put in , this should have been done in the 1st place but obviously the racists within the Tory party did not want a non white person leading the party....on their head be it!! Obviously Rishi can do Mathematics!!! Otherwise don't be surprised if number 10 gets taken over by angry protester's......personally absolutely General Election now pronto.......Labour in now!!!
Lmfao!!!! Remember Putin is pointing big missiles at us so all this nobody of any use in power needs to fix-up!!!

TheGhostOfLiz · 20/10/2022 14:34

Cunt = Jeremy Hunt (because it rhymes)

Lettuce = an actual lettuce. Really. One of the papers ran a skit a few days ago with a live shot of a lettuce next to a framed picture of Truss. They basially said they thought the lettuce would last longer than her. And they were right Grin

But they're all loaded for life. They're all Oxbridge mates aren't they? Primed for power, whether it's five minutes or 5 years. It's just a game to them really, it's a giant chessboard and they're all seated round it comfortably, moving pieces about and slinging playground insults at one another.

It's not like you or I losing our jobs. They're all cushioned elite, and they move within the same circles so it's a closed/secure shop. "Real life" doesn't happen to these people at the top. It is just a rather vicious game to them

We were saying this.they just don't care.rhey have no empathy with the real world and have no want to try. They are a nasty bunch of elites who just can't relate or give a dam

Sorry that was for @SenecaFallsRedux

Crikey. She didn't last as long as the rotting lettuce.

Indeed.
I have never bought the Daily Star but did yesterday to show Ds.
(and I never will again but Lettuce livestream was inspired !)

She hasn't exactly lost much, has she? Liz Truss entitled to £115K per year from taxpayer for the rest of her life
Seems a good deal for one so unable. What a world!

It's a very good deal really.
When I was about 10, I (foolishly) wanted to be PM.
I would be unsuitable for PM.
I don't have the necessary 'background', education, confidence or ruthlessness.
BUT, if I were dropped into the role by a quirk of fate I must say I wouldn't have done any worse than Truss for the last 6 weeks (4 if you count QEII funeral)

This is because I would have had the common sense to listen to the Civil service, & to various other experts. I would have tried to unify the Party & taken very cautious financial action given the current global instability & UK situation.

I'd be very glad of a 100K+ pension for life too.

blackpearwhitelilies · 20/10/2022 14:47

They should all be gone.
They've lied and lied and lied again. They've partied while people died, crashed the economy, jeopardised homes because of mortgage rates, damaged pensions, lied some more, displayed thuggery at the HoC votes. Enough. Far far too much. They have to go and we need a General Election now. None of us deserves what they've been doing. Braverman's latest bill would give them the power to put electric tags on anyone who they think might even be thinking of protesting. They act purely in the interests of a tiny, wealthy minority and we've handed far too much national wealth over to them.

Russia welcomes departure of Britain's 'catastrophically illiterate disgrace' of a prime minister
Russia's foreign ministry has welcomed the resignation of Prime Minister Liz Truss - saying she was a "disgrace" of a leader who will be remembered for her "catastrophic illiteracy".

"Britain has never known such a disgrace of a prime minister," foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

The claim of illiteracy appears to refer to Ms Truss' visit to
Moscow shortly before Russia invaded Ukraine while she was
British foreign minister.

In a meeting with Russia's veteran foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, she appeared to confuse two regions of Russia with Ukraine, triggering mockery by the Russian diplomat and across talk shows on Russian state TV.

Shameful..... this is what all you Conservatives voted for....you are all responsible for this!!! Have a little think about it with your Afternoon Tea.

happyinherts · 20/10/2022 14:47

@54isanopendoor Exactly. Spot on. My OH and I were just saying that in the real world it's nigh on impossible to land a top job with no background experience or knowledge. Unfortunately, in politics it seems to be far easier. Ms Coffey for Health Secretary for example, too.

Sad thing is we all have to suffer such incompetence.

Uh no… he helped his wife to not declare tax on her millions. Nothing at all to do with race. It’s about lies.

FrizzledFrazzle · 20/10/2022 13:55

I don't understand.

How come she will be replaced in a week with the MPs choosing the next leader, but Boris faffed around for another 3 months while Tory party members chose his replacement?

Why couldn't we have had that last time?

Dragging the leadership contest out ensured Boris was PM for longer than Theresa May.

The Conservative Party have made themselves look idiots by voting for a leader and then forcing them out so quickly. I do NOT want Boris back again, he's the knob that started the rot. It is not a matter of 'national interest' Boris, just your self-inflated sense of worth.

WhileMyGuitarGentlyWeeps · 20/10/2022 14:50

Made my day that news has! 😂 Off you pop Liz! Good riddance!!!

@Steven_Swinford
EXCLUSIVE:
I'm told that Boris Johnson is expected to stand in the Tory leadership contest
He's taking soundings but is said to believe it is a matter of national interest

.....

Basket case country.

Berrylina · 20/10/2022 14:52

They should just let Rishi take over. Anything else would be foolish. Others a much needed general election is the only other alternative.

StrongCoffeeAvalanche · 20/10/2022 14:52

Is there any chance of Theresa May coming back into power? I'm surprised it seems it hasn't been suggested.

inheritanceshiteagain · 20/10/2022 14:56

Rishi Sunak is the only one with any credibility. Never, ever, ever understand why Liz Truss was elected. Couldn't find her way out of a paper bag.

It was said when Boris was ousted that he wanted Liz to take over because he knew she wouldn’t last. Seems to be going to plan for him.
