DH and DC not come home. He was picking them up from after school club. Should have been back an hour ago. His phone is going straight to voicemail. I’m an anxious person anyway, but when would you panic?

OP posts:
BigFatLiar · 14/10/2022 18:39

I'd be starting to worry now, hope all is well.

CapitanSandy · 14/10/2022 18:40

Maybe they nipped to the shops or McDonald’s on the way home for a Friday treat? Hope everything is okay.

ofwarren · 14/10/2022 18:43

Are they home?

Burm · 14/10/2022 18:44

I’m the anxious type and this is something that would have me very worried. Please come back and let us know if all ok OP, concerned for you now!!

Meanwhile in the real world people use phones in cars all the time

Who if they are stuck in traffic wouldnt quickly answer the phone to anxious pregnant partner when they are so late?

Not really. The police are clamping down on it hard in my area. Or are you one of those people 🙄

Decafflatteplease · 14/10/2022 18:47

I would be worried too.

Hope all ok

mincepi · 14/10/2022 18:47

If it's an 8min drive I'd be tempted to walk it if you were feeling up to it

This is a good idea. Can a friend go with you.

OMG12 · 14/10/2022 18:49

I would be worried too. By now I would call the police (after calling any potential places he could be). If you’re worried about his mental state make this very clear

PoundShopPrincess · 14/10/2022 18:49

I wouldn't be worried about this. I'd assume they were doing something. Do you think he's deliberately trying to worry you OP if he knows this would make you anxious?

Dou8hnuts · 14/10/2022 18:50

could they be visiting a friend? Impromptu trip to the cinema? Are you sure there’s no dentist appointment etc, hair cuts needed?

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 14/10/2022 18:50

I'd be worried too OP, if DH decided to make a stop off i would expect him to let me know.

Blackisthecolour · 14/10/2022 18:50

Are they home safe OP? Worrying for you!

cultkid · 14/10/2022 18:51

Hey I hope you're okay
I would ring the police

I would be really worried too

It's out of character for him so ring the police they can look for his car

And the comments about being anxious over the top etc if you're anxious you can't help it because someone told you to. It's so much more complex then that.

The suggestion is that the man is stuck in a traffic jam, of course he can have a look around for police cars stuck in the jam next to him before quickly accepting the call and even if he can't hit speaker he can shout that he's stuck and all is well

Yes, I would do that if I thought my partner was worried sick at home. Wouldn't you?

Ihatethenewlook · 14/10/2022 18:51

Any news op? My oh did this once. He’d left his phone in the car whilst picking up ds. He was walking past a house next to the school and bumped into the woman who lived there. Turned out she was an old family friend who had practically raised him. He ended up in her house with ds chatting for 2 hours, not a single thought for wtf must have been going through my head back home. I did ring the non emergency police line in the end, and they were about to look for any traffic incidents in the area as I was convinced he must have been in a crash. Luckily he’d finally got back to the car and seen my calls and phoned me whilst I was on the phone to the police.

OP has said phone going straight to voicemail so must be off/battery dead/poor signal. Hope they're ok, OP.

CarefreeMe · 14/10/2022 18:53

I wouldn’t have worried when you posted but I would be worried now.

nugget22 · 14/10/2022 18:54

Are there any local Facebook pages where you could check for any possible road accidents etc? Or Twitter? I'm sure it's all totally fine but I would worry too. Could he have taken dc for an impromptu meal or trip somewhere?

Gilmorehill · 14/10/2022 18:54

I hope they’re home now.

MiniRobin · 14/10/2022 18:55

We're all worried now...please update us OP

Changer25 · 14/10/2022 18:56

Hope all okay OP, please update us

MysteryBelle · 14/10/2022 18:56

Hope all is well, Op. Hopefully he’s taken them shopping or somewhere and didn’t contact you either because his phone ran out of power, or he wants you to worry after having a row (not good but better than other scenarios). Above all, I hope your children are safe and home soon. Calling police is what I would do.

TippyToesKnows · 14/10/2022 18:57

Is everything OK OP?

Izzywhizzyisverybusy · 14/10/2022 18:57

I hope they come home safe and sound.
I haven’t read the whole thread so don’t know if anyone has suggested it - but have you checked if any of their stuff is missing from the house?
