Places you don't shop anymore and why?

Are there any shops you just don't go to anymore? Obviously due to the cost of living. I shop at Aldi and Asda. Might just go to Aldi now.

Shops that don't accept cash

Anywhere that regularly gifts or hosts extravagant events for “Influencers”. I will not contribute to wealthy, middle class, whites women to sit around a table in a 5 star hotel telling us how delightful Jo Malone’s PR team are 🙄

Haha yes, probably why Joules have gone bust. I'm not paying full price for clothes when they hand them out for free to every white Surrey instamum every other month.

I don't go to my local superdrug. Layout and queue system is awful. They opened a new till up and took customers from the back of the queue who had just joined. I'd rather go to Boots self service is quick (rarely have a problem) and the advantage card is really lucrative.

Avoid Zara, the queues are always huge and it looks like a jumble sale.

IntentionalError · 22/11/2022 20:50

Waitrose since they took away all the perks. Without them, I cannot justify paying their prices.

Sulusu · 22/11/2022 20:51

Asda. They got rid of changing rooms during covid and never brought them back. They have also replaced the majority of manned tills with self serve ones in my local store. There are now always long queues at the remaining tills as a lot of people (like me who is disabled) struggle with self serve tills.

I shop at Tesco instead now.

Burger King after they have me a mouldy burger bun

ThePoshUns · 22/11/2022 21:10

Aldi - they messed up an online wine order. Sent me the wrong wine, then refused to refund me.

Haven't s

Haven't shopped in Argos or WH Smith for years because they're just awful now. I no longer buy new clothes (apart from underwear) for financial reasons, its second hand all the way!

Chococrimbo · 22/11/2022 21:22

LK Bennett and jigsaw because of price. Who actually affords these clothes

PiggyInTheLidl · 22/11/2022 23:12

Mujii. I used to go there all the time. But now every branch has a wall of scented vapour things. It makes me feel I’ll. I have to go straight out. I never used to go into Lush because of the smell, who would have thought Mujii would end up worse?

Zipps · 22/11/2022 23:26

Most high street clothes shops - awful materials and mostly shite anyway. There are lots of independent boutiques near me which I buy most of my clothes from now apart from an occasional outing to CK and All Saints.
All supermarkets apart from M&S.

I used to like Superdrug and Boots, and would shop there regularly up until about 15 years ago. I stopped because it gradually dawned on me that their stuff is overpriced. Plus the staff were frequently rude.

GlassDeli · 22/11/2022 23:59

Clarks because they've sold us poorly fitting shoes more than once Angry

heartbroken22 · 30/11/2022 23:22

@ALongHardWinter that's so true I love found boots and Superdrug staff to be quite rude too. A bit up their own arse and don't have that much knowledge too.
