Why does next door's cat keep coming in?

Next door got a cat about 18 months ago.

The car has come in about 6/7 times now. Would probably be more if we were less cautious of her

Tonight H walked in front the lounge to the kitchen, and there she was, strolling across the kitchen counter tops! As if sweet all was out of place

It shits in our garden. Our dog is scared of cats and won't go anywhere near it!

H tried to shoo it away tonight and it went for him, in the end he opened the street door and then whacked the kitchen door open. That startled her and she made a run for it out the door

What can we do to stop this? She gets through windows.

H says if she does this again or shits in our garden once more, she will regret it!

I did NOT say I would wish for or support beating cats to death with sticks or to steal them and dump them so they would die. There is a very wide margin between disliking cats and not wanting them around you to what you said in your post.

You did indeed advocate trapping (and therefore stealing) a cat and dumping it miles from home. You also make thinly veiled threats as to what would happen to a cat that came in your house.

I don't see how I'm being called horrible for not wanting cats in my garden

you aren't, you are being called horrible for what you both said and implied you would do.

The neighbour's cat is currently curled up on my legs in a tight ball of purring cuteness. We have an unofficial shared care arrangement that she decided on about 2 years ago.

Sounds similar to our relationship with next door's cat.

There's a local cat who has tried to come into my house on a few occasions when the window or door is open in fine weather. I'm usually alerted to its presence by my own cats hissing. It's quite aggressive - my sister tried to pet it one day and it bit her. I don't know if it's a wild cat or a pet. I just shoo it out and close the door and window for a bit. Sometimes it sits on my window ledge and stares in at us. My own cats seem scared of it - it's a very big cat. Actually, I haven't seen it for a while. Maybe it's staying indoors more now that the weather is cooler.
